Stadium upgrade ?

While doing laps on the track today I noticed a work crew taking down the chainlink fence that runs behind the east endzone and between visitors grandstand and the track/sideline of the football field. I wonder if this was just routine maintenance or the start of something big ?

interesting...but im not thinking its something big. Why would they do it prior to the Spring Stomp and a possible big croud attending this weekend? But who knows

There was a big hole in the fence over there near the visitors' side (between standings and the track in the corner near the E endzone), is that the portion you're talking about? Maybe they are fixing that?

went to the baseball game and walked past University Field. The entire fence is taken down around the entire field except for behind the fieldgoals. Im not sure if they are putting anything back up, but all the fences around the field except begind the endzones are taken down.

Could be because engineers (surveyors actually) need clear sightlines for the report from Sasaki. FENCES ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. I doubt they would take it down for anything less than important. A replacement fence seems less likely. The old one will probably go back up.
