The first step............


Assistant Director, Annual Giving for Athletics



  • Maintaining principal responsibility for the engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual giving donors and prospects to Athletics
  • Assisting the Director of Development for Athletics with the creation, launch, implementation, and management of a branded fundraising organization for Athletics donors, with a focus on priority points and benefits related to Athletic events
  • Primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of a branded fundraising organization, including coordination with Development and Athletics colleagues to track and allocate benefits, points, seating and parking allocations, gift processing, related game-day operations, special events and activities
  • Assisting with the design and implementation of direct marketing and solicitation efforts to Athletics donors and prospective donors
  • Maintaining a portfolio of Athletics annual giving prospects with high potential, primarily those located in the Capital Region. Conducting face-to-face meetings and solicitation via personal outreach and targeted events; assessing major gift potential and interest of Athletics donors, transitioning cultivation to the Director of Development for Athletics, or other Major Gifts staff as appropriate
  • Coordinating with the Office of Donor Relations and Athletics colleagues to facilitate enhanced stewardship, excellent customer service, and fan experience to Athletics donors, including: recognition at events, inclusion in high-level donor activities, special access to Athletic events, and profiles in University web and print materials
  • Collaborating with colleagues from Athletics and the UAlbany Alumni Association with initiatives related to fan engagement, and the formation of a focused strategy on engaging the community to increase ticket sales and overall pride in UAlbany Athletics
  • Representation at numerous external functions, home athletic contests, donor trips, and University functions. Candidate should be able to maintain the highest level of professionalism at all times, including numerous daily phone calls and frequent personal interaction with donors.

The branded athletic fundraising unit is long overdue but in large part due to the politics of the foundation itself, IMO.

He the Director. This says it's an Assistant Director.

I have no place to put this... so I'm just throwing it in this thread since ticketing was mentioned...a stretch but it doesn't need its own thread.
