I'm not sure how this devolved into a thread about Stony Brook. :o

As good as Warney is, in close games it's tough for them to go to him because his free throw shooting is a liability (just over 50%.)

It's one of the understated things we've had with our big guys the past couple of years. In almost all of the championship runs one or more of our bigs have knocked down huge free throws towards the end of the game - Puk in Vermont, All of them at Stony Brook, and Mike Rowley's in last year's championship game just before Hooley's three.

I don't see Stony Brook or anyone running away with things this year. Last year Stony Brook was 1-1 against New Hampshire, 1-1 against Albany and 0-2 against Vermont. The conference is going to be tough and fun to watch this year. I'm not sure why more people aren't picking Vermont to be honest.

Vermont for as good as they are in the backcourt, has some depth and size issues upfront. They have to figure out how they are going to defend the paint and rebound. Granted, it seems like every year they find answers though. That program is legit and they know how to win. At this point I pick them a solid 3rd but wouldn't be surprised to see them win. Guards for the most part rule our league and they have some of the best.
