Some trivia for a Tuesday

Have any current Albany coaches won an NCAA national championship as a player or a coach?

I was considering just typing "YES" and submitting it.

 

The first answer I could think of is Men's Lax Coach Scott Marr who was on an NCAA Championship team as a player at Johns Hopkins in the late 80s.

 

Is there a prize? If you bought a Carvel cake for Lady DP's b-day, what time do you want us all over?

 

If you can come up with a series of Dane trivia, maybe we can sneak UAAlum72 on Jeopardy and he can beat Ken Jennings.

Oh man....I am so jealous...the little crunchies at the bottom of the cake. There is one Carvel store of any type, within a 45 minute drive of boston. Terrible. I would love a slice!

Sorry gents, no Fudgie the Whale for you. There's a corner ice cream stand dangerously close to our house which is where we're heading tonight. You can meet us there Statefan but it's BYOIC.

 

I admit I asked the question without fully knowing the answer. As far as I know you're right Scott Marr is the only one to win a National Championship. There were a couple of close calls. Will Brown was in the national title game at Sullivan County I think. Also Coach Banda had some great seasons at UMass and lost to North Carolina in the national championship game.

I believe Will Brown was in the National Championship Game at Sullivan and I beleive he made it to the DII Elite 8 or the Final 4 as an Assistant with St Rose.
