  1. Only wish I would have seen his back page cover at the corner store this morning, and not on the message board - would have been a cool surprise. This will undoubtedly have an amazing impact on our school, both athletically, and in terms of school spirit, exposure. It's honestly insane. I understand how unique of a story it is, but it has really captivate the hearts of many - that we are not 6 days removed from it, and it's getting the back page of the Post is crazy. Happy for the program, but more happy for Peter. There's never a silver lining in death, but to know at least that he has made an impact on others, brought more awareness to colon cancer, and been in the spotlight for WAY more than 15 minutes is amazing. Hoping we can continue the fairy tale for at least 1 more game.
  2. Was it the Duke game or UF game where he was knocking down a bunch of like 16-18 footers?
  3. I'll disagree with you on that Duke never really was a game. I think we were down 9 at half, and lost by 12, but we brought it to within 6 with 2-3 mins ago. Plumlee was scoring at will, but we just didn't hit shots at the end, and I think had a couple of sloppy TOs. I remember we had a chance to cut it to 3 several times. I was at the game, and remember a lot of energy etc. Aside from Virginia, all of those games were very close. Even a 9-12 pt game, is only a few buckets.
  4. And also, if I'm correct, HS court is shorter than collegiate. Not the end of the world, but frustrating for team I'm sure. Is there also practice tomorrow or no, with games starting?
  5. We've been through this rodeo several times. I've learned to just let things play out. No need to stress about it. Nothing we can do about it. If he got a great opportunity, no one would fault him for that, and we would be very grateful for his help in taking our program to the next level. With that being said, retaining a lot of the roster, and bringing in Cremo, it would be hard to justify leaving now, unless it's an amazing opportunity. Certainly wouldn't fault him for wanting a nice raise though
  6. And I wouldn't leave for Fordham either. There's plenty of great programs, but not sure that inheriting a school in the cellar of the A-10, that doesn't have much of a basketball following (in school or in the city) is the best route.
  7. Aronhalt got a shot at playing at MD - quite different, and I think with his Australian connection, Mike Rowley, and everything else, I'd be shocked if he left. Stranger things have happened though.
  8. Watched the video from the SI link above. Shocked to see how similar our stats were to the them in terms of PPG, opp ppg, ft%, 3p% etc. Granted, their stats are against much tougher competition, but interesting to note. Wonder if we will see a lot of zone, given that OU isn't the greatest shooting team.
  9. You don't have to register for the events, at least not the one in NYC. Just showed up.
  10. Manhattan looked terrible tonight. VERY sloppy. Their play tonight made our play for the first 37 minutes on Saturday look stellar.
  11. I wasn't implying on "moving on up" in terms of going to another conference. I was saying that we are "moving on up" as a program. We're growing exponentially in terms of the quality of teams we have across the spectrum - not even just basketball. And we can't "make the AE" better. The only thing we can do is focus on our product, and try to bring in the fans. Outside of that, what Maine does, for example, is out of our control.
  12. This probably belong in its own thread, but from Zach Bye: UAlbany is now 1 of only 9 teams in D1 basketball to send both mens & womens basketball teams to the NCAA tourney in 3 consecutive seasons. That's incredible. Kudos to both teams. Truly great things are happening here. Just saw Men's Lax beat down Canisius pretty badly too. Need some Jefferson "movin' on up" music.
  13. I think if the Roger call was better quality it would easily take the cake...
  14. The smaller lineup will help us hopefully. Our main problem against Duke was that we had no match for Plumlee. Last year, UF gave us fits in the same way. OU has serious athletes, but hopefully we don't get crushed in rebounding.
  15. Anyone happen to record Hooley's while segment on SC?
  16. Assuming that he comes off the bench again against OU, I cannot wait for what is hopefully a standing ovation. Everyone in the nation will know who Peter is by the time we tip-off on Friday.
  17. Did anyone record it? My DVR cut it off at the end, where I think they were going to announce him as America's star... Also, curious if they will just re-air this segment for tomorrow or if they have anything else planned in the morning edition.
  18. Yeah and guessing tomorrow AM will be regular ESPN.
  19. Yeah.. Would be in Duke, and then if we pull that upset off, not sure where else it would be, since the next game wouldn't be with a top 16 team.
  20. NCAAW tournament rewards top 16 teams with home games for first 2 rounds. Doesn't matter really what region we were for first 2 rounds..
  21. As per UASports Twitter feed: Tune in tonight to ESPN's Sportscenter between 11-12 and again tomorrow morning at 11:20 to see Peter Hooley live in-studio! ‪#‎GoGreatDanes‬ ‪#‎ncaadanes‬
  22. Hooley just impresses me more and more with each interview. Very humble kid. ESPNU interview was a good one.
