  1. I felt so bad for Evan. Visibly upset too. You could tell he wanted to be out there so badly. If you watch the video, he gets swung ar ound like a little kid when he jumps into the arms of one of our players lol.. great moment..
  2. It's not like a 14 seed is GREAT. 14/15 all in the same. If he was doing it as though he was shocked, well, I don't think you get that reaction for a 14 seed. If it were a 12 seed, I would get it. Either way, let people sleep on us.
  3. I took it as questioning it. He didn't write "Albany a 14 seed -highest for AE since 07". He wrote "Albany a 14?" like "wtf"? lol Perhaps it's hard on twitter to analyze - i'll let you know from the show.
  4. I get that a lot of attention is paid to the big schools, but watched CBSSports' 3 hour breakdown of the brackets, and when it came to OU/Albany, the segment was about 5 minutes long and consisted of an interview with Lon Kruger. They asked one question about Albany, and gave literally zero commentary on our players, our record, our win to get in, NOTHING. As a college bball fan, I also enjoy learning about smaller schools in big matchups. It's what makes March Madnes so great - David vs. Goliath. Then Andy Katz implied through a tweet that he had a problem with our #14 seed, to which I brought attention to Harvard's #13 seed. Harvard tied Yale in regular season, beat them at the buzzer in the playoff, and we beat them OOC this year. Also, given that we have a veteran team, that has historically played teams tight in the tournament, I thought that the 14 seed was warranted, especially given all of the upsets in the other conference tournaments. That certainly helped.
  5. I agree that at some point, everyone has a price. And also, everyone has a "school" they would coach for. To each their own. Just hope his "own" remains Albany for the foreseeable future. I really do think that with an upset win, or a continued showing in the tournament, we can take a VCU-esque step in the right direction.
  6. Right.. and especially (he would know better than us), we may be making a move eventually to the CAA, for example. Why move when you can get arguably the same level of play, and continue living in the same area. Albany is very attractive from a financial standpoint as well in terms of cost of living.
  7. It's a good job, but not sure I would leave Albany for it. I guess it depends on compensation, family preference etc. A10 is a big jump, but in my opinion, it's a big gamble to go to a much improved conference, where the team is in the cellar, and hope to win in a fairly quick timetable. Otherwise, you could be starting from scratch again a few years later. Leaving Albany with 3 in a row, and then Cremo coming in next year would be a hard sell, IMO. Could never blame anyone for taking a pay increase or pursuing dream at a higher level. Question is, UA is really improving on all levels. If you look at our Athletics department as a whole, excluding football (big exclusion), how many schools have improved as dramatically as we have over the last 9-10 years, considering MBB, WBB, LAX, Softball, Baseball, Volleyball etc.? Just in terms of MBB, WBB, LAX, there's gotta be a few ACC teams that have had more success than us. Outside of that, we're establishing a really great footprint and blueprint for the future.
  8. Again, my "expectations" are not to win. I'm not expecting a win. But I'm past just being content. I want a win. Want/expect are two very different things. I think the whole "let's play for respect" is BS at this point. Three tournaments in a row - five in the last 9 years. We should not just be playing for respect. The only thing we can do as a program to make a jump, in my opinion, in terms of status/recruiting etc., is to finally get an upset. We've been fairly close 3 of the last 4 appearances. And in all of those games, excluding 2006, I don't even think we played all that well considering. I guarantee that at this point, while they know they are favorites, no 2-5 seed wants to play a veteran 12-15 seed that has been in the tournament the last two years. To top it off, we played arguably the two best teams the last two years at the time in Duke and UF. I don't think OU is on their level at all - doesn't mean it will be similar outcome this time or that we will play better, but we've shown we can play p5 conferences well. We lost to providence by 4 early this year. OU lost to Washington and Stony beat Washington. It's very possible.
  9. No doubt it's going to be difficult. March Madness as a whole is difficult for every team, as is evident by the large number of upsets each year. I'd rather play a team that plays like us that we can grind with.
  10. As a program now, I'm past the point of just hoping for "respect" and playing well. I want a win. It would certainly be a very big upset, but we have proven we can play well in big games, and play good teams very tough. By no means am I "expecting" a win, but certainly will not be happy with just playing them tough as in the past. We're a legit mid-major, and we will eventually strike gold in the tournament.
  11. Hoping we don't play Notre Dame.. They looked ridiculous last night against UNC, and are amazing from beyond the arc - somethiing that has plagued us all year. Would love a matchup against Maryland or even OU.
  12. Sorry, first time using YouTube to upload stuff.. They're public now
  13. 11pm and midnight both had long segments on Hooley and the shot.. Both of which were on SportsCenter on ESPNNEWS. Interested to see SportsCenter on ESPN at 1/2. Surreal to see all the attention this has gotten and kind words for Peter and his family..
  14. The irony that we always get pegged to an early, unfavorable time in the AE championship game, and how viral it can make an amazing story go when you're the first to play in a day..
  15. Video online? Haven't seen a video online.. It was from the broadcast of SC, with anchors interviewing him etc., which normally they don't put into videos. If anyone has an idea of how to get it from my TV to a computer, would be happy to upload...

  17. SportsCenter on ESPNNEWS, led with this, and it's about 7 minutes in total. Showing the highlights, interviewing Peter over Skype. Having a really indepth interview with Peter. When all is said and done, I'm happy that what first comes to mind is STORY BOOK, and not STONY BROOK.
  18. Add another one: http://www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/story/ncaa-tournament-america-east-peter-hooley-albany-great-danes-031415 Sorry for spamming all the links, just marveling, and thinking others will want to see!
  19. I recorded the Hampton/Delaware St. that followed our game, in case ours trickled over into the next hour (which it did).... The halftime report of that game led off with the game winning shot and had a fairly long segment about his story. Stuff like this makes sports great, and makes college sports all that much better. There's a level of pride and emotion you can't find anywhere else.
