Other than Knotts two players I haven't seen anyone mention are Bauman and Lillis. I thought Bauman would have a tough time getting minutes this year but I thought Lillis might fare better. Is he not playing as well as we thought he would or is there just too much competition in the backcourt?

Sorry Dane96 I don't recognize those names. I had a bit of a bizarro housing situation during my time at UA so my being Dak's suitemate was a whim of UA housing not because I knew him prior to that.
-
Dak's last name was Simpson, Dak Simpson. It was really no surprise to find him breaking up the Tortorrici thing since he did stuff like that all the time. I saw him break up many fights during my time at Albany. He was kind of the Dutch Quad bouncer during his time there. He was also my suitemate one year. I was starting to think no one would get this one. I can't belive Alum92 knew the lacrosse player too.
-
Alum92 can certainly speak for himself but I think he was only using Banks as an example, not comparing Dyson and Banks. Dyson was an all-state player-he should be good. I remember reading some of the stuff Alum92 mentioned about Banks but I think it was on message boards not stuff from coaches or recruiting services. If I remember right some of the problem was Banks was described as having a Marcus Camby-like frame. Of course there's a huge difference between having a Camby-like frame and actually playing like Marcus Camby as we learned in Banks freshman year. The nice part about this upcoming season will be that none of the freshman will have to come in and be terrific for Albany to compete. I think unless Dyson is an absolute phenom he should come off the bench his first couple of collegiate games just so he'll appreciate it and have to earn it in practice, etc. This is especially true if he did come in overweight.

I didn't realize this question would be so topical. Getting the other one is tougher because it happened a while ago. If I remember right there was also an Albany lacrosse player involved.

Here's to hoping this thread will end sometime soon. Smith has already or will shortly resign. Whether they'll be an official annoucement or he'll just leave I couldn't tell you.

Name the two former Albany football players who've physically disarmed would-be gunman in hostage situations. These were both separate incidents and occured in the captial district. I realize this is a weird question.

Certainly looks wide-open at PG. I'd give the incoming freshman as good a shot as anybody. It was Learn who brought the ball up the floor alot of the time last year when Sweetland was out. Schumaker would be nice for her shooting but just not a point guard. Let's hope James improved alot over the summer because it looks like it will be her or Tamika Thrower to start.

I agree on the QB situation Patch. It may well come back to haunt us this year. The new batch of guys who came in this year will hopefully end that problem for the next couple of years. The secondary really didn't have much of a chance last week. Seck had way, way too much time back there. No way you can expect anyone to cover Hofstra's recievers for that long. I didn't realize it but the Fordham game is being televised locally. Dane 96 do you want a tape of the game? I'm more than happy to tape over the Hofstra game.

Patch I wasn't picking anyone or any post out. I was saying I had intended this to be a fan forum and it's become a kind of internal UA athletics grevience board. It's my board so it's my problem, I'm just sorry it's turned into this. It wasn't what I intended.

I really don't see that there's any information here. Just rumors about things we'll probably never know if they're true or not. The only time I have second thoughts about hosting this board is that it provides a forum for people to anyomously discuss or allege charges about people's livelyhoods. It happened last year with Jon Mueller and I'm sorry that it did. Alot of the posters here are Alumni, fomer players and students. I also suspect there are some university employees who post which, for the most part, is terrific. There's undoubtly some airing of dirty laundry which is not so great. In meeting with a few of the coaches some of them have been very supportive of what goes on here but a fair number thought alot of what's discussed here casts a poor light on UA. It's undoubtly threads like this that they are thinking of and I have to agree. As a proud alum and an obvious fan, the last thing I want to be doing is supporting a website that' a detrement to UAlbany.

Looks like the Brook did OK against Lehigh yesterday. SB's QB threw 5 interceptions and they still held Lehigh to 25 points and 297 total yards. Not too bad considering Lehigh is ranked #23. CCSU is now in first place after beating Sacred Heart yesterday. What's happened to the Pioneers? They built a great team they won the conference championship and now have sunk back into the muck.

I think what I did was accidently make a gradient out of the graphic. It goes from purple to white to purple which is why it only shows up the end. One of these rainy days I will go through the graphics files and find the offender. Thanks, DP

Always great to beat the host team at one of these tourneys. They probably invited Albany expecting a tomato can and then got shocked. I'm really not sure why Albany was picked to finish 9th this year. They've been around the middle of the pack in the AE the last two years and returned all their starters from last year. I realize it's only two games but this team could be like baseball was in the spring, given no respect in the pre-season polls and then go out and have a very good year.
-
Men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, volleyball and men's +women's soccer have all started or will be starting soon. Hopefully the good mojo from this spring carries over in the fall. Football was picked to win and I think volleyball and at least one of the cross-country teams will bring home a conference championship.

I didn't really like Bazan throwing the ball at all. He will really be tough to stop running the option in the NEC-If I were an opposing coach I would be worried too. Delgado has a much better arm. Didn't see anything on how bad Vidal was hurt-hopefully he'll be back next week. Fantell looks bigger than last year. He should be really good in the future. It's a pretty good backfield when Dustin Wilson is the 3rd or 4th back. I really like that Craig Walls (#40) kid. He made things happen everytime he touched the ball. I didn't expect much from the offense last night but I really thought the defense would make a better showing. No pass rush made Seck look like Brett Farve. No matter how good the DBs are you can't cover a guy for that long without him getting open. I was expecting (as was GD84) Bocanegra to come in off the bench. In retrospect it probably would have been seen as a sign of panic. If Delgado came come back and pass Bazan can come in and run the option for a 1-2 punch that should terrorize defense in the NEC. Really a tough way for Bazan to start although it won't get much easier next week. -
So.....none of you will tape this sucker?

No trouble at all. I'm glad you got to see the game.
