  1. High Jump Champ as well at 7'2.25" - Alexander Bowen!
  2. Do the SU women usually play at the Old Manly Field House? That would be a better venue for spectators and tv. Much more intimate and loud. If that's the case maybe SU's women aren't quite as used to the Dome as one would think. Still, regardless of where they usually play, I'm sure the Dome still feels homey to them - a nice perk for sure.
  3. Great time at the Recovery Rm./ Guilderland. The bartenders were fantastic!
  4. Give Hartford some credit. Great game plan, outstanding D, and super hot O. Let's just hope they are exhausted from the effort.
  5. 21 points in a half. Their zone shouldn't be, but is giving us fits
  6. Ugly. Their hot shooting wouldn't be so concerning if we were not turning the ball over so much.
  7. Hooley playing with attitude! A couple blocked but I like his intensity tonight.
  8. My assessment of Frosh talent was anecdotal from the game. Their Frosh seemed to stand out - could have been the announcers. UA, nor any SUNY is on par with SU sport recruiting. SU is a gorgeous private school with good academics (banter all you want about this program or that, SU has decent creds) and tons of support from NYS tax payers (as are all NY private colleges). That we compete at all with them in Lax is a testament to a very strong UA program. Obviously we don't in Bball (women's ??) or Football. Only occasionally has our T&F program been competitive (I'd like to see our annual dual with UConn extended to a tri with SU!). Whether or not our Frosh recruits are on par with theirs it was apparent that they are bigger and faster and probably deeper, with a high skill level. It's not that we can't overcome this with better coaching and teamwork. It's more that this is much harder early in the season. Despite the seeming futility of winning the game, I have to trust the coaching staff who keeps scheduling the game for it's value to the program.
  9. What is everybody grousing about? We faced SU, #7 in country for our first game and, until we started taking risks to get back into the game, were playing them within 2 - 3 goals. That's even after spotting them 2 quickies while we warmed up . We were very sloppy and it shouldn't be a surprise our faceoff situation hasn't magically changed - we had a frosh facing the #2 specialist in the NATION (and our guy is apparently a really fast learner!) - that's what happens in a first game. No way our guys can simulate that speed and size in practice. We'll get much better as we see other top teams and get used to the speed. SU is just damned good - their frosh are fantastic and man sized. Second tier ? I suppose it depends on your definition but certainly we are not yet able to recruit at that level. It would be nice to play SU later in the season but it's still an excellent opportunity to play a top team, indoors, ... . It's a compliment to the program that so many of us expect great things from these guys.

  11. Watch live at 4pm. http://www.americaeast.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=14000&catid=0&id=1626777&db_oem_id=14000 It's more entertaining than you might think.
  12. Looks like the teams are well placed to take umpteenth championship!http://www.americaeast.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=210662897&DB_OEM_ID=14000&DB_OEM_ID=14000
  13. Some of you are realllllly underestimating how much a bad, rookie D in Maine (+the absence of their best player and another important rotation guy - Stoya ...) made us look good. You can not compare our play against Maine to what we will face against SBU.
  14. Great to see next year's line up on the floor ! Minus the big guys lol. Good things in 2017
  15. Big Rich isn't the player we hoped but have you watched our other big men today? They play much smaller than they are - all the blocked shots ODay had and NH is doing the same. Rich is very valuable
  16. UNH on the road is huge. I think we take care of Maine big = so much revenge to get. SBU is not so important unless it's for more home games in tourney. Looking forward to our best bball. After watching the Vt. game we have so much to improve on D. And, even though it's late in the season, I bet we do. I think our winning ways in conference tourney just makes the whole prospect so much more fun. We always have a shot!
  17. Compared with what SBU did to Bing in the 2nd half, this was a very poor showing.
  18. what happened with the T.? Looked away for a second and ...
  19. oh hell, only UML taking care of business tonight!
  20. Thank goodness they went cold. Wicked smart adjustment with Ray going high post to BIG RICH!
  21. That UA sports promo drives me nuts. "We've won countless ..". That basically means we can't count. Of course it's not countless. Stupid imo
