  1. Didn't know where else to share this ... https://www.oceantooceanlacrosse.com/post/2024-men-s-college-lacrosse-top-30-attendance-ranking?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR09PkHgNV8KdSTl_jJ6SL7YagyRiYJXLZIQKKJ5vByomyXUZCVY0uqjFm0_aem_AcZFHI7H-0JD2ghWF3gXY9-gjaX-MhFXqQjmepYxf-g4LTd6RUNPqjSAHCis2WiHxI7_xbbWEYqS09izFJiB27At
  2. Anyone see any info on the schedule for next year? The only games I know about are the LCC Albany cup games which will be at home this season. Looking at the AE board, some other teams already know a bunch of their scheduled teams....
  3. You mean the 7 footer, Girault that committed last year? I believe he had a health issue that was discovered when he arrived on campus and he left the team/school. Don't know his status other than I heard he may never play again. Someone else could confirm, as I am only sharing second hand info.
  4. yeah, he was just an offer and a dream get for many of us on the board - because we seem to lack size. I honestly don't remember having a team that is this tall - 6 players at 6'7" and higher, and many guards in the 6'3"-6'5" range, but we do lack the BIG bopper. hopefully being taller in the 2-4 positions will make up for a PG under 6' tall and the 5 being played by someone 6'8" or smaller. WeWe now has offers from George Mason, SIUE, Tennessee State, Quinnipiac, and Omaha, so it's not like any of the offers are that much over the AE level (if at all) but I still would have loved to see his size, athleticism, and be able reconnect with the land down under. Oh well. We move on. I do like the roster, but have to beat the drum of defense and team first mentality. Hopefully the staff is able to make it happen.
  5. Updated - likely final without any unknown changes Returning | Transfer | Freshman 2024-25 1/2 Adnan (So, 6'2") Strand (Jr, 6'3", JUCO) Joshua (Sr, 5'10", Alcorn State) Linsey (Fr, 5'10") 2/3 Marshall (Jr, 6'4", Hofstra) Briggs (So, 6'3", Charleston Southern) Langford (Sr, 6'5", BC/UCF) Matulu (Fr, 6'4", Walk-On) 3/4 Reddish (Sr, 6'7") Neely (Jr, 6'5") 4/5 Klaczek (Sr, 6'8", StJoes) Adewale (So, 6'8", Iona) Taylor (Fr, 6'7") Topuz (Fr, 6'8") Walker (So, 6'7", Walk-On) 5 Looks like 13 Scholarships used, so that should mean 0 remaining.
  6. Looks like we got a PG instead of a 5. Vermont has shown you can win the AE without a true center, but I have my doubts.... Unless something else has changed that I am unaware of, this should fill the roster for next season. Some people are high on him, and I'm sure he might be a great PG, but let's not let him shoot the 3. 24% from deep in 4 years, and it got worse each season. If he can handle the ball and distribute, he'll be a big help.
  7. I disagree on the talent comment. Langford will be in the conversation for CPOY. Adewale can defend. Klaczek is proven. Marshall is returning. That's 4 proven all conference caliber players. Other new faces: The two juco transfers are wild cards, but one states he is defense first, and I like that. Two of my favorite Danes of all-time were juco transfers (Sanders/Singletary). Each of the three freshman were touted. These 5 players are all question marks for sure, but we are always going to have questions at our level. Other returning players: Reddish is a talented role player that could finally take a step forward. Neely is a question mark that all depends on health. Adnan was green last year, and didn't play much. Definitely has the ability to take a step forward. As I stated before. I like the roster at this point. Biggest questions are: 1. who is going to handle the PG duties, 2. is the team going to be able to find a 5 that can contribute right away, and 3. can DK and staff take the ingredients, put them together, and have them play as a cohesive unit and become a real team.
  8. While I agree in principle, I think it's unrealistic based on how rare a real big that can contribute right away really is. That's why that 7'0" freshman is my preference, as he is not a typical freshman at 20yrs old, and looks athletic and coordinated. I'll take 1-2 years of that over someone smaller or someone who has already proven they can't catch a pass or defend. We probably don't have a chance at him though as his recruiting is starting to heat up with higher conference offers. I'm doubting there is anyone left in the portal at 6'10" or taller that can play that we will have any shot at, but I could be wrong.
  9. But only 1 spot to fill, unless something else has changed.... Updated 2024-25 1/2 Adnan (So, 6'2") Strand (Jr, 6'3", JUCO) Linsey (Fr, 5'10") 2/3 Marshall (Jr, 6'4", Hofstra) Briggs (So, 6'3", Charleston Southern) Langford (Sr, 6'5", BC/UCF) Matulu (Fr, 6'4", Walk-On) 3/4 Reddish (Sr, 6'7") Neely (Jr, 6'5") 4/5 Klaczek (Sr, 6'8", StJoes) Adewale (So, 6'8", Iona) Taylor (Fr, 6'7") Topuz (Fr, 6'8") Walker (So, 6'7", Walk-On) 5 Looks like 12 Scholarships used, so that should mean 1 remaining. No official announcements from the following UA Players in the portal as of now: 1/2 - NyMire Little (Jr, 6'4") 3/4 - Muneer Newton (Sr. 6'5") IMHO - The team needs a true 5 more than a PG at this moment. There are a lot of guards that can play, and while they aren't true PG's, there are some impressive athletes in that group. You can't teach size.
  10. Agreed. That's why I pointed out the 2 roster spots remaining. Would love to see that 7 foot Australian kid and a point guard.
  11. I always say this this time of year, but I really do like the roster as it's constructed so far considering there are still 2 spots left. Being able to make it a cohesive unit is the test. Looking forward to seeing who fills out the roster.
  12. Updated 2024-25 1/2 Adnan (So, 6'2") Linsey (Fr, 5'10") 2/3 Marshall (Jr, 6'4", Hofstra) Briggs (So, 6'3", Charleston Southern) Langford (Sr, 6'5", BC/UCF) Matulu (Fr, 6'4", Walk-On) 3/4 Reddish (Sr, 6'7") Neely (Jr, 6'5") 4/5 Klaczek (Sr, 6'8", StJoes) Adewale (So, 6'8", Iona) Taylor (Fr, 6'7") Walker (So, 6'7", Walk-On) 5 Looks like 10 Scholarships used, so that should mean 3 remaining. No official announcements from the following UA Players in the portal as of now: 1/2 - NyMire Little (Jr, 6'4") 3/4 - Muneer Newton (Sr. 6'5") EDIT: the formatting tools on Mobile didn't seem to be available anymore. Guess I will clean it up when I am at a computer.
  13. There is a thread on the AE board that discusses other teams recruitment. https://www.basketballforum.com/threads/2024-offseason-scholarship-tracking.694420/?post_id=15401470#post-15401470 And https://www.basketballforum.com/threads/2024-america-east-recruiting-thread.693310/page-22?post_id=15401460#post-15401460 Also, I said it's beginning to look like a strong team. I didn't say "winning" team. At this moment it looks like a good job of recruiting talent, and putting together a team that could beat any AE team on any given night. DK has been proven to be a good judge of talent and good at recruiting that talent. He now needs to prove that he can put that talent together and make them a TEAM that plays together, follows a game plan, and actually wins more games than it loses.
  14. Updated with the Marshall returning news... 2024-25 1/2 Adnan (So, 6'2") Linsey (Fr, 5'10") 2/3 Marshall (Jr, 6'4", Hofstra) Langford (Sr, 6'5", BC/UCF) Matulu (Fr, 6'4", Walk-On) 3/4 Reddish (Sr, 6'7") Neely (Jr, 6'5") 4/5 Klaczek (Sr, 6'8", StJoes) Adewale (So, 6'8", Iona) Taylor (Fr, 6'7") Walker (So, 6'7", Walk-On) 5 Looks like 9 Scholarships used, so that should mean 4 remaining. No official announcements from the following UA Players in the portal as of now: 1/2 - NyMire Little (Jr, 6'4") 3/4 - Muneer Newton (Sr. 6'5") Need a true PG, a BIG big, a wing/SF (in case Neely isn't healthy) and a body, and IMHO it looks like a strong team.

  16. Portal closes today. Most colleges have extended their enrollment date to 5/15 instead of 5/1 this year due to the FAFSA issues. Not sure if that has any impact on athletic commitments, but I would guess we would start to hear about more commitments very soon... No changes to where we stood a week or two ago: 2024-25 1/2 Adnan (So, 6'2") Linsey (Fr, 5'10") 2/3 Langford (Sr, 6'5", BC/UCF) Matulu (Fr, 6'4", Walk-On) 3/4 Reddish (Sr, 6'7") Neely (Jr, 6'5") 4/5 Klaczek (Sr, 6'8", StJoes) Adewale (So, 6'8", Iona) Taylor (Fr, 6'7") Walker (So, 6'7", Walk-On) 5 Looks like 8 Scholarships used, so that should mean 5 remaining. No official announcements from the following UA Players in the portal as of now: 1/2 - NyMire Little (Ju, 6'4") 1/2 - Will Amica (Sr, 6'0") 2/3 - Amare Marshall (Ju, 6'4", Hofstra) 3/4 - Muneer Newton (Sr. 6'5") In a perfect world, IMHO, we convince Marshall and Newton to stay put, add a Transfer PG, a wing, and convince Wewe to commit. That could be a strong competitor in the AE, if not a top 4 squad if the staff can make them a "team" instead of a collection of players.
  17. I don't know. Looks like he is coordinated and athletic. I don't know the competition level, so highlights can be misleading, but the video on Twitter is impressive (as highlight films always are) I'd take a chance at getting someone like him. Year 1: watch him develop and learn the college game. Year 2: watch him be a star at the AE level. Year 3: root for him to do well at a P5. I think a few players like that, along with a few portal wins is a recipe for success at this level. It looks like he is an Aussie. Would love to restart a connection. He's also 20, so not really a typical US freshman.
  18. Looks like we also offered Spence WeWe. 7'0" Center that is a High School Senior. Holds an offer from University of Omaha out of the Summit League. Had an unofficial visit back in February.
  19. Agree wholeheartedly for the first year or even two, but the acknowledgement goes beyond basketball. Most players aren't going to play professionally (not a comment on Jackson or Fillien) and are going to enter the business world at some point. Being a scholarship player on a D1 team is a big resume thing, and being a walk-on that earned a scholarship is an even bigger resume thing.
