  1. Anyone hear how yesterday with LIU went?

I'm guessing the other two are Hansen and Clark. That said, I do think deSousa is primed for a breakout.

I haven't heard anything about Brent Hank so far this season. He doesn't seem to be mentioned in any of the articles. He didn't play a ton (or at least wasn't noticable) during the purple and gold game. Always foul prone, but he seemed to have some nice moves, and is obviously a huge human being.

If they give out 500 dutch parking passes, they need to block off 500 spots. Period. I'm 100% with Jimbo on this. I can't stand companies (airlines, etc.) who oversell and then bump people. I wasn't a business major at UA, so I'm sure there is some 'business reason' they could come up with to explain it away but IMO, it's a weiner move.

It was just poor planning. They really should designate a small area of dutch, along the outside, that doesn't allow tailgating. This would be great for cases of people getting there late, and for people that don't want to park in the middle of people throwing footballs and BBQs. Say the 8 outside spots in each row. Would free up more open areas for tailgating, everyone is happy.

Big announcement was us becoming an Under Armour school. New jerseys.

I like the bball one but that was a lame announcement. Big announcement = a SEFCU reno or donation or something.

    Laaaammeeee

Did anyone get the link for buying any of the new UA Under Armor stuff?

I don’t mind paying for parking, or getting a parking pass for a GDAC contribution.  But having said that, I damn well expect the university to honor my parking tag in the f’n lot where it is designated for.  They oversold the lot, plain and simple. They didn’t set aside parking for tag holders. That’s poor planning and imho another screwup by the AD.

As an FYI, there were some open spots at the end of the row I was in at Dutch that were available. I'm assuming they closed it down for safety purposes. I've never seen the lot that full of tailgating partiers. It was kind of crazy. The police presence was heavy because it really had to be with that many students partying.

There were at least 2 times I feared for my grill as cars tried to plow through the row getting people to move out of their way.

With attendance being as bad as it has been all season, it's easy to understand why they may not have anticipated that kind of turnout.

For future, they should designate a section at the back along university circle for people who aren't tailgating and just want to park right before the game. If they kept it on the outside it could have alleviated the cars trying to force their way through the party.

Maybe my expectations are a little low but I'm hoping for a 5 win improvement from last year. The teams core is still just sophomores.  If we get around 17-18 wins this year and then around 23 next year , I'm hoping it will set up a magical year in 2 years.

Your expectations are good, the only reason they are low is because the schedule the team plays this year appears to be very easy. We all know that schedule rankings can be wildly off, but at first glance, 19-20 wins should be the benchmark at the minimum.

Really guys? Two weeks ago everyone here wanted him fired, now we are talking COY and FBS? Listen, great win last week but this is still the dude that lost to Monmouth and Richmond and has a horrific, eye-bleeding type of record.

He's all our, good or bad.

For the record, I wasn't suggesting that he SHOULD win COY, I just found it funny that it could actually happen. Take a team that was expected to finish the season at 2-10 and then have them finish near the top of the CAA at 7-5 or 8-4 and that can many times turn into awards. My comment was tongue in cheek humor based on how low the opinions are of him of many on this board.

As far as moving on to a bigger program, I doubt that happens even if the team finishes at 9-3, although it would make many on this board happy, and would be the best case scenario for UA as it wouldn't have to buy him out of his contract.

  7. Winning cures all.

Several people who have been outspoken critics of the staff have even made positive remarks lately giving "credit where credit is due."

With the big win this week, and the team getting some votes in the FCS poll this week, I thought it might be time to revisit this thread.

The team now has 4 wins on the season, and really should have 6 at this point if not for some troubles kicking and a few things not working out. With 5 games to go, where do you think we need to finish now for the "off with his head" attitude to subside until next season?

Lauderdale played a bit. JoJo is hurt so you won't see him. Same for Shafer.

Carter was insane. Don't know where Brown found him, but WOW.

Schafer played a little. Lauderdale didn't see much of the floor in the second half. Probably still recovering. It was nice seeing Fruscio get 4 or 5 minutes.

Not hard to see why Rizzuto has been hurt. Kid was diving everywhere and very involved. Rian definitely impressed. Hit a few threes and made some extremely impressive passes.

I was surprised we didn't see Hansen playing more inside. He took a bunch of threes, and  not sure I saw him post up once. He was impressive though.

Clark and Healy both played well.

A little surprised we're offering another guard. I thought we'd go for a guard and two bigs in next year's class.

At this level you have to go after the best possible athletes regardless of position. We never know who is going to transfer, who is going to get hurt, who is going to graduate early and leave....

That's actually from last year and has been kicking around a while.

I was listening to the CBS podcast the other day. They interviewed a bunch of coaches about the best job in college basketball outside of the P5 conferences. Lots of Gonzaga and Dayton picks but some coaches actually said Vermont was one of the best jobs.

Realized that after it was posted. It was shared one Twitter yesterday. Assumed it was new. Silly me.

Lousy news about Anderson. Not sure he would get a redshirt either since he used one at Nevada when he transferred from Northern Arizona. Hopefully the prognosis turns out to be better than first reported.

Anyone hear anything about the prognosis? Last I heard it was unclear how long he would be out?

Is it a curse? Two years in a row where someone thought to potentially make an impact had an injury.
