  1. Regardless of what everyone does, someone in the league has to have the worst facility. Stony brook now has one of, if not the best, and they still don't draw enough to fill it. We definitely need an upgrade but we need the dough to get it. We don't want to put lipstick on a pig, we need to do it right and, of course, keep winning most of our games. Benson has a big challenge, but he appears to be up to it. go danes.
  2. I understand it is being worked on.
  3. The issue isn't that he donated. He deserves a thank you for that. The issue is he is boasting about it...and using it to 'soften relations' to get the game back. That's nonsense. I wouldn't say boasting, and I'm ignoring the softening of relations as I'm sure our admin. will also ignore. I don't think it will really affect negotiations.
  4. He and Will host the Coaches vs. Cancer, locally, so it seems logical and very nice that he donated to the cause. I'm glad he did it and will leave it at that.
  5. I'd prefer not to retire numbers.
  6. Well, we could always use the $, but Holy Cross is a more winnable game and an easier drive.
  7. I'm sorry, but you'd never convince me that someone doesn't attend because the scoreboard is antiquated. Same with the food; No one's going to the game for the "dinner". If you don't want to see the 2 time (women 3 time) defending AE champions play, that's a shame. Also if you're a student, it's free. Please list the incentives for other schools that are consistently used to entice the student body to games. We've had free pizza this year already. I think the best idea is to get more students from the states which are more "rabid" about sports in general, Texas, Georgia, Florida, etc. SoCal dane has lived there he can probably attest.
  8. As a person who's a bit older and had to figure out what to do without measly e-mails. What would you suggest? Solutions are needed, not complaints. Incentives? Do you get incentives to attend or watch other events? I enjoy rooting for my alma mater, and seeing exciting sporting event. Isn't that enough? What incentives do the students at other schools get?
  9. Watching the SBU Canisius game on TW.
  10. I do not want to play them twice a year. I just want to alternate sites.
  11. And, Cuse beat Holy Cross by 24. I saw that Holy Cross team in person. I wouldn't totally discount Michigan.
  12. I always used to think it should be in the TUC every year, but as time has gone by, I've changed my mind. I now think it should be alternated. I am a season ticket holder, so I'll always have a great seat in SEFCU, and Siena never sells out, so I can always go when the game is there. If will be a tough ticket to get every other year, but maybe that will help us with ticket sales for SEFCU. There are plenty of restaurants on Western to feed all the hungry patrons. I'm hungry for equity. We deserve to be treated as every other opponent is treated. If that isn't amenable to Siena, well, that'll be their loss every other year.
  13. Funny that an overweight slob like him who sweats through three layers of clothes throwing massive tantrums at every game is telling someone else to grow up. Don't you think your comment is also a little childish ?
  14. Somebody told the commentator, so it doesn't really bother me that he mentioned it. If it's true, I hope and pray for the best. We'll have to cope with some losses and hopefully put them into perspective.
  15. I guess we've reached the annual thread of doom. Hopefully the team makes the necessary strides to finish the same way. I'm hoping they do, I'll try to keep the faith.
  16. 15-2 run for Bucknell. Sanders cwith some poor shots so far this half.
  17. I like what Peters did while in there. I hope he gets some more minutes.
  18. Yes. That's the amount needed to endow the full scholarship. It's the goal, to strive for. I guess if we had a plethora of donors forking over $40,000 a year, that would also work.
  19. 2 percent of donations, for the last fiscal year were for athletics. We need to raise an awful lot of money to fund athletics. It takes about $500,000 to fully fund a scholarship assuming about 4% payout, With a couple hundred scholarship athletes, that's 100 million, although some may qualify for other scholarships already funded, We still need some capital improvements to our facilities. So the 500 - 600 donations yesterday, of which a majority were probably under $100, isn't going to get it done. Benson and University Development have their work cut out for themselves. I have to say that development has made tremendous strides for the last several years and I couldn't be happier with the recent hires for President and AD. We're certainly headed in the right direction, but I don't see how we can afford to make any major moves in conerence affiliations.
