  1. wow...what a showing by the Great Danes. This team looks like it has zero game plan. Just chuck it up and pray it goes in.
  2. wow...just wow. up 6 w/ 10 seconds left...and the lead is gone.
  3. based on the RPI and what I see and based on historical match-ups, I see UA playing Fairfield and Vermont playing Loyola-MD. ESPN historically like to put the AE teams with the MAAC. Also, the RPI's are very similar. This is why I kinda don't care as much about this event. Kinda glad it is over with after this season.
  4. glad our beat writer is doing such a stand up job...
  5. anyone catch the score of the women's game vs. UMBC...WOW
  6. Not sure if Tim is being his usual toolbag self... I know he would much rather be at the sparking Aqueduct Race Track
  7. good for him...a really nice guy. When I was doing radio for WCDB, he was so willing to work with us. He invited us to come and look at scout tapes when WCDB first started covering volleyball. He even helped us nail down terminology to help our broadcast. He even showed up to do a live broadcast from NY Giants camp when the NY Jets came in for that practice. He always thought big, sometimes bigger then UA probably could handle. But he was one of the nicest guys.
  8. I can't believe CCSU isn't begging the AE for a spot at this point. Side note...would really like to see the AE go after LIU-Brooklyn.
  9. This all goes back to the Kegs and Eggs Riot. Again, I can legit say and have confirmation from multiple people that it was mostly non-UA students involved in those events. The university is trying to crack down and this is their silly answer.
  10. Leave it to Wilkin to let everyone know if the arena isn't packed... I will admit it is bad. I just feel like Wilkin is just snide about it.
  11. the thing I don't get...these two schools just don't seem like MAAC schools. I see them fitting in the AE, not the MAAC. Quinnipiac maybe, because of the facilities, but even that if a iffy. I just don't know. If true, CCSU should be begging the AE to get in.
  12. agreed. Can't see them staying in the Northeast for football. Something tells me they are going to push hard for conference switch for football. Not sure where. Just an opinion.
  13. now this today... http://blog.timesunion.com/collegesports/report-monmouth-quinnipiac-to-join-maac/14510/
  14. http://blog.timesuni...-in-area/14491/ what a bunch of crap...where in the hell did Coach Brown say that bogus headline he wrote?
  15. Is there a reason why we can't put profile pics (jpg or gif or direct url)?
  16. by the way...this is something that does need to be taken care of, especially with a new football stadium coming in. Would be really silly if UA has this great new stadium they fought hard to get for years and the student turnout is minimal. I have a feeling this is not just a basketball problem.
  17. http://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Students-hard-to-find-in-SEFCU-Arena-seats-4084159.php Not a big fan of this being in the paper the day after the Albany-Siena game, but it is a very interesting one. It is a major problem for this school. We all know it has been worse for UA. Heck, Fessler and I can remind you of the early 2000's when we would stand in a group of 5-6 students trying to make noise and that was it. I believe the students who do show up should get priority on certain things. The die-hards should get priority tickets to the Big Purple Growl, AE Tournament, Siena...heck even select away games if possible. I don't know, it is just an idea. The one thing that always pissed me off about BPG was they did the Battle of the Quads. ResLife would pack in people to win a stupid banner contest and after that...DIDN'T PROMOTE ANYTHING. I remember going to the events and wanting to punch some people because they showed up in their little get-ups and pretend they cared, and walked out after a didn't come back (that was until ESPN showed up for the Conference Championship). What was more upsetting was guys like Fessler and I would be sitting at the top of the student section and these guys who show up for 1-2 games get to sit front row behind the basket. I think die-hards need to be taken care of and given some perks. And don't give me this Danger Zone crap. Something has to be done to draw students in. I don't know what and I believe UA has smart people in the AD to figure it out. The school and program deserve better.
  18. Average attendance for Siena is 7k. Last night 10,229 showed up for the game. I'm sorry, UA needs to make changes on this game, especially after a night like last night.
  19. did you hear Brown postgame...Black was really sick... but did he take a shot at Marissa. Thought I heard him say, "wearing purple...you will probably have green on Saturday." Was that just me or did I completely hear that wrong?
  20. I like the idea...if teams, including UA, are going to start doing a home-and-home, why not do it with your rival? Allows both teams to bring in profit. I think it would be more of Siena getting the stick out of their lower body part however before it happens. I would say within 3 years, you do 1 TU game, 1 UA game and third year home and home...done.
  21. by the way...Iati is in beast mode. I'm actually in the camp that he is a better shooter then his brother...and I am/was a big Jon Iati fan
  22. I remember doing the same for WCDB...fast pace and a pain in the ass. Had to drink 3-4 bottles of water to survive.
