Johns Hopkins was ranked #1 in the Media Poll and #6 in the Coaches Poll when UA beat them in 2007.

The two key things I saw...faceoffs need to improve for the team, especially down the stretch. It has been an issue for a long time. the other thing is staying healthy. Injuries have killed this team the past few years. If the team stays healthy...watch out. By the way, the Great Danes are ranked in the Top 25 as of this morning. Nike/IL Media Poll and the Coaches Poll has UA ranked #16. Syracuse dropped to #18.

The funny thing, I think this is the second biggest victory in school history...behind beating John Hopkins

Biggest issue I have is being left behind. I don't want to see the school I love become second rate. That does not mean we will be that way w/ or w/o Will Brown. Football has helped to prevent that and I believe basketball is the other major piece (lacrosse is also a piece,but I give it a little bit more of a leash because of how small the sport is in the grand scheme of things when it comes to the NCAA). I do agree...no personal attacks needed.

this season isn't worth fighting about anymore. I don't know what to think when it comes to the program anymore. At this point I'm ready for lacrosse season to see what they do and hope the women run the table and can advance to at least the 2nd and 3rd round. I have moved on from men's basketball at this point.

one thing that I love about this class is that you are seeing where Ford and his staff is setting up pipelines. I really like that he is trying to keep the top flight NY talent in NY and he is reaching out to Florida. It seems NY, FL and MD are going to be the main pipeline for recruits. Obviously this can change. Side Note: being an SEC fan and seeing the types of receivers produced out of the state of Florida, I am in love with the fact Ford has snagged them here. I can't imagine what you have to do to convince kids from Florida to come to Albany with the types of winters we can have...but glad they are all part of the purple family

I put the #'s out there after the last game against BU, SB and VT in last 10 games vs each. I just can't comment anymore. I'm more interested in the women's team and lacrosse season. I'm done thinking about this team at this point.

i'm done commenting about this at this pt. I made my point after the last game. We will maybe get in the CBI Tournament or something and some how it will be called a successful season. UA will beat the lower level teams and put up a fight in 1-2 games and that will be it. Only thing going for the team is that BU is not in the tournament.

In 2006-07 we lost both regular season games to UVM and still went to the NCAAs. That's all I'm saying. I agree it makes the road tough and we should be able to compete with top teams no doubt and it's embarrassing that we haven't been able to. We shall see. Even with 16 wins I hope we can turn it around on Tuesday, if we lose... well.. I don't want to think about that right now haha. Going to try and be optimistic. Again, if we make the tournament fine. But at the same time we still finished 1 or 2 in those years. People in sports get fired for not beating rivals. Just because UA is a mid-major, doesn't mean it should not happen. Again...if the team makes the tournament, I probably won't care. However, since 2006-2007, they have not. If that is the case and your putting up these numbers, it makes you think. These are games that put you in seeding that allow you to win the tournament. UA is coming up way short in that case. Again, I like Coach Brown. I'm not saying fire him. But I don't get excited seeing this team go to the CBA or NIT.

the issue MsGDG...when was the last time the team was in the tournament? You are putting up a 5-25 record against those 3 teams combined and not making the tournament.

Last 10 games vs. UVM: 1-9 Last 10 games vs. SB: 3-7 Last 10 games vs. BU: 1-9 Total = 5-25 Again...I have always been a Will Brown supporter...but that is a major problem.

Last win vs. UVM...March 7, 2009 I'm sorry. I have and always will like Will Brown. But that's not a good thing when you they are considered one of your rivals.

by the way...that's 11 straight losses combined to SB, BU and UVM. Last time UA beat any of those teams...Feb 14, 2011 vs. SB. 1 year and 11 months ago.

honestly...only interest in UA basketball I have at this point is the women's team. This 16-6 team looks completely lost. They look like they have no game plan. Like I said...chuck and pray it goes in. They can play D...but that doesn't help if you barely score 40 pts in a game. Does anyone honestly think they are beating SB on Tues?

there is no point to watching anymore of these games. They wont beat Stony Brook or BU, but will beat the other teams, maybe sprinkle in another loss. Will put up a fight in the tournament and enjoy a CBA birth. The writing is on the wall. We just need to accept it.
