Apologies for the miscommunication. It didn't read like any sarcasm/joking that I'm used to seeing..and a lot of recent posts have been of the unhappy variety..so I read this as more of the same. I didn't know this thread..and the Suero thread..needed to have it's mood lightened. Just a tally of points..nothing more and nothing less.
-
Do you enjoy making this board unreadable? There are already enough active threads with constant b*tching and moaning. I suggest replying in those. This thread..and the Suero thread..is simply keeping a tally of points. Nothing more..nothing less.

12 points tonight puts Black at 918. Would need to average 16.4 ppg to reach the milestone within the minimum 5 games left this season.
-
11 points last night puts Black at 906. Would need to average 15.7ppg to reach the milestone within the minimum 6 games left this season.
-
5 conference games..plus 1 BB game..plus 1 AE tourney game = 7 A quarterfinal AE tourney win would get us to 8 games.
-
With 7 points against UMBC and 15 points against Stony Brook..Black's at 895 career points. Assuming at least 7 games left this season..he would need to average 15 points per game to reach 1,000 career points this season. If the team plays at least 8 more games..he'd need to average 13.2 points per game.
-
At least nine games!
-
Logan's 'on pace' to finish up with around 1,150-1,200 career points this season. Not bad at all! Instead of/in addition to an Aronhalt 1,500 point tracker..we can actually start a Mike Black 1,000 point tracker pretty soon. I believe he's sitting at 844 after last night's 14 point effort. That would give him a decent shot at reaching the milestone right near the end of the season..depending how deep the team goes.
-
His 18pts yesterday make it 944. If he continues at about his 15.7ppg average..he'd hit the milestone at Vermont on 1/19.

The SF Giants closer or the leader of the Beach Boys?
-
Looks like we've also offered Javion Ogunyemi, F ('13) from down the road in Troy...also has an offer from Iowa State.
-
From 'TheRecruitScoop'... TCU, Albany, Marquette, Santa Clara & Georgia comprise the list of Marquan Botley, a 2013 PG from Prestonwood Christian (TX).
-
Looks like we've offered Josh James (PG - 6', 170lbs) of Stepinac HS in White Plains..also been offered by Stony Brook, Manhattan, Canisius and St. Peter's. Was playing at an AAU tourney in Orlando recently..so it would make sense he was at least part of the reason why the staff was down there. http://stepinacbasketball.vnsports.com/rosters/player.asp?id=261571 UPDATE: Add Iona to the list of offers.

Obviously haven't seen anything formal..but my understanding is that Brent Wilson is the 'new' Assistant Coach. Well deserved.
-
Pretty much the reasoning I think most of us were assuming. By only mentioning that Friel and Wilson could move up..the article seems to suggest that Filien was the #2 Asst and O'Donnell was #1. My understanding is/was that Filien was the #1 Asst.
-
Will be interesting to see what Coach Brown does here. I know Brent Wilson played the 4 spot..but I wonder if he'd be considered enough of a 'big man' to have a shot at the position..given his style of play when he was on the court. If that internal route was pursued..maybe we could then try to snag Jon Iati from Quinnipiac for the Operations Director role? I'm curious to see where Filien ends up.
-
I wonder what the recruiting message is..because I don't think there are any scholarships to offer for 2012..at least at this point? The team will have no seniors in 2011-12..so no one will be graduating and freeing up a scholarsship..correct? Obviously that doesn't address potential transfers..prep years by potential incoming recruits..etc.

I'd assume you're referring to eligibility-wise? Obviously not eligibility to play..but to maintain his scholarship?..others are probably better versed in that issue. But time-wise..it wouldn't seem to have to conflict with him still graduating (the press does list him as '11). Less than half of the schedule is before the end of the semester..and all of those are 'home' games at CBA. He doesn't have UAlbany team requirements anymore..so that would seem to free up a lot of time. -

Looks like this could be close to reality. From the Albany Legends facebook page... Albany Legends: taking a close look at All Conference players, team captains and school record holders Will Harris F UAlbany '10 and Tim Ambrose G UAlbany '11! Jason Palatsky: Wait...are Will and Tim signed? Albany Legends: In discussions now, both will be in action at FMCC on Saturday night in the Legend's Exhibition game... $2 admission Albany Legends: Saturday Night 6pm Exhibition Game at Fulton Montgomery Community College, $2! See 2010 Champion Legends like Lloyd Johnson, Gloversville sharp shooting G and oversea's pro EJ Gallup and UAlbany standouts Tim Ambrose 6' G (All Conference Team and 4th leading scorer in UAlbany History 1558 pts) and All Conference Team member Will Harris, '10 6"6" F and MANY OTHERS! GET READY FOR 2011 ALBANY LEGENDS STYLE!!!! I never saw EJ Gallup play..but that sounds like some pretty decent talent for that team/league..obviously trying to generate some local interest. Ambrose..at least offensively..should have his way with that league. Not sure what his gaols are..but you'd have to think could also find a pretty decent gig in Europe/internationally..if he wanted. -
Timely to this conversation.. http://www.capitaltonight.com/2011/01/zimpher-suny-facing-double-edged-sword/

If I remember correctly...Stachowski was polling behind even before he gave in on SUNY Empowerment. Either way..it will still have to run through the Assembly. Will be interesting to see what..if anything..changes.
-
How'd that work out for Mr. Stachowski? The Assembly will still be the important decision maker here. Loss of the veto-proof majority doesn't change the issue much..as that can't force the Assembly to pass something..only plays a role if the Governor doesn't want something that the Assembly (majority) wants..not vice versa.

Sen. LaValle has again been named as Chair of the Senate Higher Education Committee. http://www.capitaltonight.com/2011/01/skelos-holds-off-on-bipartisan-committee-chairs/
