  1. Top rows of handicap seating, signs on the roof, big "A" logos on the tower walls, and the Stadium Sponsor's name - which BTW seems to be later than expected. Landscaping too. I looked at the plans again and they call for a lot of trees, shrubs, etc. Not exactly "steel for the upper deck" but then again we'll be there in about a month for a freaking game!
  2. Looks like we'll start seeing a lot of sod being rolled out. I think this will have a huge visual impact. The other thing that I'm very interested to see is that the plans call for all that chain link fence to be covered by graphical banners. That should be very cool as well. Not sure we'll see much more than that on the webcam any more.
  3. Very interesting reading here on CAA expansion. FOIA request related to CAA expansion. We are all over the discussion. http://shadesof48.com/?p=365
  4. 25 days to the women's soccer game vs. Syracuse. Why wait 5 weeks. Santillo is saying on Twitter that those games won't be played at BFF.
  5. Could they be using the area behind the visitor's bleachers as a staging area to construct the flag poles? (An not pedestrian lighting poles?) They could be, but it looks like their mounting one now. Also of note, is a row of yellow chair backs going in above the steps and under the upper deck. I wonder if those are flag poles to hold various team flags, etc.? There seems to be way too many in a row to be pedestrian lights. It would be pretty cool if they put all the CAA team flags up there. Looks like there are 12 spots for poles to go in and 10 lying on the ground (2 up already) We need a Brutus "confirm/deny"

  7. Pedetsrian light polls are starting to go in today as well as the permiter fencing. Seems like a lot of the finishing touches now.
  8. Appears from the online ticket system, that the Berm is called the "First Niagra Family Berm". I'm sure they got a couple hundred grand over a few years for that.
  9. Brutus or soemone else confirmed this earlier. Soccer lines inside the football sidelines are only there for soccer games and removed for football games.
  10. TU is preaching to the choir on paid sabbaticals. I think its a much abused process throughout the higher education system in this country. If you're paid to teach - then teach. If you want to write a book, do it when you're not teaching.
  11. Santillo put a couple videos up on the blog. Looking so great with the visitors side up. http://www.tout.com/m/j8pve7?ref=twj8oqa3
  12. SU was actually one of the first to drop their racist logo - in the mid-70s.
  13. I don't mind cartoon characters - or even goofy looking ones as long as they have some kind of fight to them. Our old Dane logo didn't. We used to get heckled as the "Scoobys"
  14. Lest I remind you that Syracuse build its national prominence with this mascot - Not the Orange.
  15. We've been picked 10th out of 11th and got zero players on the preseason all-conference team. Low expecations - an odd feeling. National media doesn't really even give us a chance.
  16. I am surprised too. Buffalo doesn't need to rally around SUNY or New York IMHO. It is a great university and was a fine college pre-SUNY days as well. Although I cheer the most for UA, I have a degree from both UA and Buffalo, and I still think Buffalo sets the bar in the SUNY system academically and in athletics. Until we have AAU membership and are in a FBS conference, anyone will have a hard time convincing me otherwise. Edit: Why don't we play Buffalo in any sports? I wish we would. I don't have the same animosity that some have towards Buffalo. I wish we played them. When it comes down to it though, I rooted for SBU to beat UB.
