"He's qualified," said Eric Jaklitsch, who, along with Chris Phillips, coaches Bekono with the New York Elite. "He's looking for a good opportunity. If he doesn't get an offer he likes, he'll go to prep school

I think Jaklitsch was the UA team manager the last couple of years.

Kruse did visit Albany

Kruse led the 28-7 Wildcats in scoring at 17.4 ppg. At the national tournament, he averaged 18.3 points and 7.3 rebounds and was named all-tournamen. It was NDSCS's first national tournament appearance since 1992.

His performance caught scouts' attention.

This week, he made an official recruiting visit to the University of Albany in New York. It's a member of the American East Conference that was represented by Vermont in the NCAA tournament.

"They said they really need a shooter," said Kruse, who relishes that role. He's all about scoring, an offensive machine.

"They finished, I think, third in the American East and had a bunch of injuries. They want me to play three (spot), which is fine. I pretty much was a three or two (small forward/shooting guard) here."

Wichita State, Hofstra and Denver, all have expressed interest. Kruse says he'll make an unofficial visit to the University of South Dakota, Sn NCAA Division II school in the North Central Conference as well.

"All these schools are kind of far away and I'd really like to stay a little closer just for my family," Kruse said. "My dad, he's been great. He's been to all my games here (at NDSCS in Wahpeton, N.D.)."
