As offered by one of the posters on the AE board, RealTimeRPI keeps constantly updated figures for this metric. While it can be argued that this is an imperfect science, and that there is a lot of difference between measurements, amongst other complaints, it is noted that UAlbany's RPI shot up to 125 after this Cornell win, placing them as the highest in the AE, according to one measurement. It is fun to give the site a gander.

The other point of this post is mostly for DanePound. DP, at the bottom of the AE page there is a 'link exchange' button that builds a reciprocal relationship between that site and another. I did not know if you were aware, or if it was something you wanted to check out.

Great Danes are now #150 in the Sagarin, top of America East. To show how close the conf. rankings are, after a 2-3 night last night AE dropped from 22 to 24. Odd note: America East's 'central mean' ranking is exactly the same as its 'simple average', meaning the league is balanced, the average not skewed by one very good or very bad team.

To underscore your observation about team balance within the conference, the Sagarins show 8 of the AE's teams are ranked from 150 to 250 out of 336 possible teams. Only 1 team is listed in the 300's. You cannot be more in the middle of Division I national college basketball than the conference is currently rated. Some of our detractors in other nearby conferences, who like to brag about their innate superiority over the AE, are suffering this season from generally lower overall conference ratings, and some of these leagues have several teams currently in the 300's.

Several of us posters predicted that the AE was going to better and more balanced this year than in any other recent season, and it looks like this forecast is bearing itself out. When we get to the conference schedule, we can expect to see many dog-eat-dog contests, or should I say many "Dane"-eat-dog fights?

get ready for some fun boys and girls...

108, jumping Siena and right behind a certain Final Four team from last year...3 behind Bucknell. We could hit the Top 100 by Conference play...which would be amazing
