The official roster is up on our site. No real surprises but still nice to see. Almost done with the long summer and wait for UA basketball.

 

What does the RFr mean next to Ambrose? I presume red shirted freshman, I didn't know he is considered as such.

Pretty sure you can red-shirt for a variety of reasons so it makes sense; I'm just glad to see him on the roster. Also happy to see nobody took #0 or #00.

Did Covington shrink. I always thought he was listed at 6-8. Probably working his way down to his actual hight.

6'7" is about right for Covington in fact he's probably on the short side of 6'7".

 

Regardless of his publicized size, he'll be another year experienced and he hasn't shrunk from last year, he can definitely compete in the AE.

 

The real question mark is what will Gifford give us this year?

 

He knows what it takes now, so lets see if he improved his strength, stamina and game. He's only a Soph. and AE Bigs usually need a year or so to be ready.

I don't think they can list walk-ons until players actually "walk-on" -- i.e., tryouts and all of that.

He was listed at 6'7" last year too, according to the UAlbany website. Only change in him was that he packed on five pounds - 240 to 245 - of what I'd imagine is pure muscle so he can bang even more down low.
