Rumor- UMASS-LOWELL to the AE; Today or Tomorrow

You can read my diatribes over on the AE boards...but I am sickened by this move. This is the first time I ever said, "I WANT OUT OF THE AE".

I spent time in Lowell teaching, and am slightly familiar with that university.

We don't need this addition to the AE. It should stay DII.

Well, on a positive note, it did just mention that Albany may be headed to the CAA, so there's that.

I want to eventually go FBS so I don't like the CAA $1M exit fee but this news makes me think UA and SBU should make the move to the CAA.

Some conferenes are going to follow suit with the Big Ten and drop FSC games. It'll take some time but I'm sure it'll be a domino scenario. We need to get into the CAA build up our resources,score some wins and try to get into FBS. UMass-Lowel joining the America East is a sign of the end but that $1M exit fee is HUGE. I wonder if the entire CAA would look to upgrade to FBS once the money games dry up?

I had heard this as a rumor for the last few months. Don't like it. I agree - time to form a nothern division in the CAA.

Thought it was the wrong move until now.

72 thinks the CAA is back near the level of the America East. Who here thinks it's an upgrade, if it actually was an option.

I still think its an upgrade. Aren't they getting College of Charlston and others?
