  1. It's a slow Monday, so I'm trying to increase some debate here. I saw from the Times Union that Siena lost again at home yesterday, but the game still attracted 5,100 fans. My question concerns: Why would so many people attend a game when you have a 3-17 record? UA's record is not that great either, but you would have an approximately 50% chance of seeing the home team win. Are some of their fans ripe for poaching?
  2. I started at Albany before you were born. I remember being excited when the school began a football program again. At that point it was only a club team. You newer guys are spoiled with the modern news coverage. After graduation, I lived a distance from Albany and had to search for a store that sold the Times-Union to discover what had happened with the basketball team the night before.
  3. The sport has been added already to the UAlbany Athletics website. Impressive!
  4. Lo and behold, after noticing that our team always seems to be outblocked, UA led Temple tonight in blocks, 6-3. Moral of the story: just complain about something. I'm really surprised the outcome of the game was so close.
  5. I remember that morning, and I think that low temperature still stands for Albany's lowest record temperature ever. Later in the day it warmed up to +22° after a week of brutally cold weather. Kids were out in Dutch quad in shorts throwing frisbees.
  6. A little clarification. I didn't give an explanation as to why UA may be getting blocked more than blocking. I just noted a discrepancy between us and other teams in that statistic. I'm sure there is an explanation somewhere, but I sure don't know it.
  7. The reason that I mentioned the number of steals is because it seems that UA never outblocks our opponent. I can't remember the last time we had more of them than the others on the court. With a lower-ranked team facing us, I thought this game might be the one time blocks were in our favor. Again, my concern is only very minor.
  8. Just one minor complaint. Even against a Division III team, UA made fewer blocks.
  9. Since Russians tend to screw up everything and brag more than the reality, maybe we have a good chance. Нам, всего хорошего!
  10. Let's hope the course of the men's basketball game goes the same way as the women's tonight.
  11. It's possible that UA may be playing next weekend in our very humble stadium, but Richmond team members will be cleaning out their hoity-toity lockers.
