What does playing ARMY do for the DANES?

 

We had contracts with Army when we did not have a conference affiliation

it is time to move on

Army did not and will not help put butts in the seats

A fair contract with $iena will help us finacially

Sometimes it does come down to dollars and common sense

 

ARMY football on the other hand is a game I would love to see someday

Has Albany ever beaten a "good" Siena team? The one win you have against us in the modern era was against a horrible Laneir team.

It will be sad if they do not renew the contract with Siena. I think its a great game for the local community (who we need to buy tickets to other games). I agree with the other posters how a series with Buffalo would be a prime rivalry to establish (UMASS is a bit of a stretch at this point) and that would draw a good crowd in both locations.

 

While Army has never been a basketball powerhouse they are one of the most recognized schools in the country and is what 80 miles away which makes for a great road trip for fans. Plus there are a ton of UA alums in the Hudson Valley.

 

On a side note, I went to the UMBC game and was impressed by the UA turnout!

Army is a wasted game. This is a blowout for us, no offense to West Point (my #2 school growing up). UMASS and Buffalo should be the games we are playing.

 

We could easily get 800 or so to a UMASS game with all the Albany fans and the Boston alumni.
