  1. this was our 7th consecutive loss to Vermont, should have been fired up to play this game, and we took one in the arse without as much as a reach around.
  2. Bummer. Would have been nice for people from all over the state and country see the new stadium.
  3. ugh. we dropped from 64 to 81 this year, and dead last of the SUNY university centers. Even New Paltz and Oneonta are ahead of us. Embarrassing. http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/colleges/index.php?state_code%5B%5D=NY&id%5B%5D=none&table=public#colleges
  4. it needs to be instilled into students when they're freshman...or better yet, before. Make athletics an integral part of the orientation process. focus the marketing efforts on Indian and State Quads. There are lots of things the school can do.
  5. 3 stars out of 5 (better than the TU at 2.7 out of 5!), however the biggest complaint is the lack of fan support. Here you go Patch, a new topic! http://www.stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/sefcu-arena-s746 TU review by same author: http://www.stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/times-union-center-s753
  6. with all due respect, it would have helped if you included the schedule in that post or at least provided a link to it. you just said "Lacrosse schedule released" and that was it.
  7. Makes sense. Hopefully in a few years when these Nano grads are making the mega bucks they'll write some fat checks to the university. The expansion of the business school should help too.
  8. Student section was okay, nothing special. @AndrewSantillo attendance at SEFCU Arena was 2,371 for South Carolina State/UAlbany meh, should have been a lot better than that. A good team with 5 wins in a row (now 6) at home on a Wednesday night should pull more than 2300. Pretty pathetic, and doesn't bode well for our 8k+ seat football stadium coming online next Fall.
  9. Good, glad UA is promoting the game that way. Students need to get off their ass and see this team play. Sell out SEFCU!
  10. I was surfing Wikipedia today and noticed on the UA page that it lists our endowment at $30MM. Is that correct? If so, that's pretty bad for a research institution of our size. Like...REALLY bad. For comparison purposes...Bing is listed at $100MM. Buffalo at over $700MM. Stony Brook at $110MM (which seems low for them too). I guess my question is....WTF?!
  11. Interesting story. The State University of New York at Albany suspended fourteen fraternities and sororities in mid-November, and many students and alumni are upset about what they say is unfair treatment by the University. In a letter dated November 16, Office of Student Involvement Coordinator Mike Jaromin issued the suspension and ordered the groups to ”cease and desist from all official sorority and fraternity functions,” including “new member education activities.” The suspensions were a response to the arrest of several University at Albany students on November 9 for hazing pledges of an underground fraternity not recognized by the school. All of the 14 suspended organizations were “above ground,” or are recognized as legitimate Greek organizations. Why would the school suspend legit fraternities and sororities when the hazing incident occurred by an unrecognized frat? This doesn't seem like a solution to me. http://www.knickledger.com/2012/12/ualbany-fraternities-and-sororities-upset-over-suspensions/
  12. What is the school doing to draw crowds? Is there any buzz building on campus around how good this team is?
  13. I thought it might be grass seed too, but it looks like they still need to do some grading in that area
  14. No respect. Whatever. Siena is a has-been school with a has-been sports program. UA is the future of D1 sports in Albany. Some people just like to cling to the past.... I mean, he works for a newspaper after all.
  15. There's the Albany I remember....gray and white. Glad they're continuing the work.
  16. A reminder to keep voting. Bob Ford is now on the list at #17! (You can vote once per day)
  17. Slow afternoon....so here's a question for the board.......... The Powerball is $450 million this week. If you won, would you donate some of it to the Athletics department? If so, what would you insist it go towards? Lower bowl built-out? Field house? Baseball stadium?
