  1. Sanford School lost again yesterday and scored only 30 something pts. Dyson had 9 pts. and 13 rebounds. He only got 5 shots! They had over 30 TO's!
  2. Did he make some athletic plays against UMass or what! He had an awesome block that they called a foul on. He also made a big time tip in. Way over the rim! If he can be more consistent he can be pretty good for the Danes!!!!!!
  3. Pipikis was playing so well! He really improved. The staff did a great job working with him and he was playing tough basketball. Hope we get him back soon!
  4. Iati looked more assertive taking the ball to the basket against UMass today. He finished with 15 pts. and 6 assists and those guards were big, quick, and athletic. They guarded him tough. He had some nice assists off his drives to the basket. He has a chance to be very good! Remember he's a frosh who didn't start practicing until a week before the Siena game because of major shoulder surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. The men suited up 5 scholarship players and 8 total today. Wilson out, Pipikis out, Hughes out. Jordan and Zollner sitting out as transfers. Wyatt, Levi, Iati, Martin, Knotts Walk-ons = St. Hillaire, Johnson, and Cheese We only have 10 scholarship players in the program because of the stupid NCAA 5/8 rule. If Banks did not transfer we'd have 11 total. Beeten had so many kid's transfer it screwed everything up! I still think Brown did the right thing taking Jordan and Zollner. We are going to be awesome next year!!!!! If Wilson did not get hurt we'd have a pretty good record right now and if Hughes did not have the tragedy in his family. Levi is going to improve big time this year! He can play!
  6. Supposedly his team has only lost 10 games in the past four years and this year they are suppose to be awful. They start two freshmen guards who are not very good for varsity right now. Heard they can't get the big fella the ball and they commit a ton of TO's!!!!!!
  7. Heard he might not play. Supposedly he missed the last game right before X-Mas with pneumonia!
  8. Does the AE realize that Albany has everybody back and adds Wilson, Jordan, and Das Big Man plus four signees. I don't think people realize how good Albany can be next year. We are not talking 500 record overall. We are talking Top 4 in the AE and potential run in the AE Tourney. This team could be very good! At least on paper!
  9. Old Timer, Albany won a game before Lehigh and Lehigh had won 6! The three guards for Lehigh were very good. The big guy's were just okay at best! Good win for the DAnes!
  10. I don't know Patches resume but it seems that he knows what he is talking about. Martin is a small forward and must defend the other teams small forward. Samuels started as Sacred Hearts small forward so that's who Martin guarded. Dane96, I'd love to know your name, years played, and production. I'd love to see the stats!
  11. You should credit the staff as well for working with him and having the confidence in him to get it done! They could have written him off but they've hung in with him!
  12. Oh yeah! Bonehead 96, Martin started at small forward as always! Get a clue!
  13. DAne 96, Learn the game and learn it quickly if you are going to post. Martin is a small forward and a better athlete than Levi. Martin was guarding #10 Samuels who is a 6'5 small forward. Levi was guarding 6' Maurice Bailey who is All NEC and held his own. Samuels finished with 18 and got it going early thanks to Martin. Todd was active offensively early and the Danes had nothing to show for it. He did not score! During the course of a game players miss assignments. Martin missed 3 or 4 in a row. Who else should he have guarded? #4 and #20 were Sacred Hearts pg and 2G and best players and leading scorers. I don't want to hear the crap that you play in leagues or that you played at Albany which I find hard to believe because of your lack of knowledge and common sense. Can't wait to hear your analysis on tonight's game on this board!
  14. Are you sure you were at the Sacred Heart game?? Martin's man scored the first 7 pts. of the game for Sacred Heart. He did not guard!
  15. Good point by Patch! Tired of reading the stupid attendance comments. Stay home if you go to games to count people. The men have a rule called the 5/8 rule. Means you can't give out more than 5 scholarships in one year and a combined 8 in two years. If kid's leave a program in the men's game you most likely will not be able to use that scholarship for at least a full year. The women could use it immediately. When you are handling a developing program you need as many scholarships as possible to use immediately! Also, name one women's recruit by Patterson that has shown even a glimpse of being a decent player? Nobody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for the attendance report on tonight's game! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Interesting to take a look at the two new head coaches and the transition for both. The women's game is alot easier to get good quickly. Why???? 1. No 5/8 rule in women's hoop 2. Women have 15 total scholarships per NCAA rules Look at the players Warner left in the program. Hutch, Ayers, Sweetland, Schumacker, Learn, Jones, (The six best players) Look at Pattersons recruits? James, Johnson, Major, Scipione, Maine girl, No contributions! Warner left the program with good players. Brown inherited a program with Opong, Peterson, Johnson, Gallup?, Pipikis, Wyatt . Beeten had like 7 or 8 kid's transfer. Had to follow the 5/8 rule and the NCAA allows only 13 scholarships for men. Brown brought in studs Levine and Wilson. Probable AE All Rookie pg in Iati, solid Martin, enigma Knotts, Hughes??, studs Jordan and Zollner. Has already signed four good players for next year. Obviously he can recruit but the program was an absolute mess. Guy's are 1-5 now and girls 2-5. Any interesting comments????????????????
  17. The Danes are currently 1-5. If Jamar Wilson never got hurt I've gotta believe the Danes would be 4-2, possibly 5-1 because Siena has nobody that could guard him. I'll stick with 4-2. What does everybody else think???? Even without him they could be 3-3. They had a great chance to beat Colgate and a chance to beat Sacred Heart.
  18. The kid averaged 15.5 ppg, 5.5 apg, and 6.5 rpg as a junior playing on the wing in Iowa's largest classification! I am sure it is a combination of the knee and playing the point. I heard he has an unbelievable basketball IQ! He should probably forget about his senior year and get the knee scoped!!!!! Don't pay attention to those message boards! Half the people on them are HS kid's from Rival schools!
  19. Sounds like Big Growl 01 is a relative of Todd Martins. Martin was L.I.U.'s best player in the 2nd half. Every time he touched it they stole it! He needs to toughen up! The kid can't create his own shot! He is playing alot of minutes this year because he has to. If Jamar Wilson was not hurt Iati, Wilson, and Levine would play all of the minutes on the perimeter and Martin would fill in 8-10 minutes per game. Next year Martin will have to put on 20 lbs. and improve and even if he does that he isn't going to play much with Iati, Wilson, Levine, and Jordan on the perimeter. I heard Jordan is nasty!!!! Also, Bauman and Lillis are real good. Bauman supposedly shoots lights out and Lillis can play all 3 perimeter positions at 6'5. Martin will be a role player at best during his career. He should enjoy his minutes now because he won't be getting them after this year!
  20. DANE 96 Wilson, Jordan, Levine, Dyson, and Zollner is a potent line-up. However, I don't think Wilson will play the pg position much. Maybe only in the $$ games against the Pitt's of the world. It will be interesting. I think the depth chart will be the five above along with B. Wilson, Lillis, Bauman, Iati, Hughes and St. Hillaire Wyatt, Knotts, and Martin will all sit. Just my opinion. Cheese and Johnson will be managers.
  21. Wyatt was recruited by the previous regime and is no enforcer! We don't know about Hughes because he is MIA!
  22. I think Iati, Wilson, Jordan, Dyson, and Zollner will start and Levine will become the John Havlicheck of UAlbany as the 6th man. How about Levine as a 6th man? Pretty darn good!
  23. Heard Lillis can do a little bit of everything! He is playing pg this year at 6'5! Remember, last year he averaged 16ppg. He can score. Supposedly he was inactive for 6-8 weeks to rest his knee. He is probably rusty!
  24. I bet Zollner is as good as Forth! Probably better!
