I can't really defend the defense but I will point this out. All of Morgan State's points in the second half were essentially scored by our offense. EIH's fumble on our 10 yard line led to their first touchdown and then VT's TD present to the Morgan State safety in the 4th quarter.

We're not going to beat anyone with a roster like that. Well, maybe Siena if they still played us. I thought Mayo did one of those preseason videos a couple of weeks ago.

The last depth chart had Stire at 2nd string TE. I'm guessing with Hussein out that moves him up to starter? If so, that's kind of crazy. I'm guessing he'll be doing faceoffs for lax in the spring too.

I don't really see how much we have to hype up. We return less scoring, rebounding and assists than almost any team in the country. Mostly we have a lot of ?????????. Don't get me wrong, they look like good ?????? but they're still ??????? I'm actually fine with all the preseason expectations saying we're not going to be very good. They'll probably stumble sometimes but it's fun to watch young teams come together sometimes. I mean, you know, every 8 or 9 years or so, between strings of 20 win seasons.

In general, I don't like the Oneonta game either. As inexperienced as we're going to be this year, I don't mind starting off the season with getting it out of the way. This schedule might not have much sex appeal but the end of December is a tough stretch of games and I might be happy for Dartmouth. After that we'll be: @Providence Manhattan at home - who should be tough @Kent State @Niagara - probably one of the favorites in the MAAC Vermont at home in the conference opener.

The problem Benson had was that he essentially inherited this scheduling problem. The precedent of the Albany Cup game being held at the TUC was set long before he got here so he's going to look like the bad guy for not going along with what's been done in the past. I don't think he had a lot of great choices.

He could be saying "Dammit Eli...this is the first time we've scheduled Monmouth and we haven't scheduled a series with Dartmouth in six or seven years..."

Some interesting offers the last few days. One is out to Trey Hutcheson from Iowa. A 6'6 SF who has offers from Furman, Air Fore and North Dakota. Also, Sam Baker a juco guard from Northwest Florida State. He originally went DII before going to Juco where he has offers from Florida Gulf Coast, Iona, Central Michigan and a bunch of others. 6'8 PF Isaiah Jones has a similar story. Went to DII out of high school and is now going Juco at Connors State..

Drumgoole recently offered by UMass. He has an offer from George Washington also.

Looks like Cremo and Nichols could face each other next season. Both Villanova and Florida State are playing in the Advocare Invitational in November. As the Villanova fan site puts it "a battle to determine who got the better Albany grad transfer."

Not super excited about Bing being the BPG game.
