Sounds like they are thinking about sliding Charles into that starting spot vacated by Mike. That would add a little more firepower to our starting five. Didn't realize Travis Charles was our third leading scorer without starting a game. I remember Zack Bye advocated him starting last year on the radio. I'd have to think Alex Foster and Matt Conway would have an early advantage just because they're a bit older and more experienced than the Aussie big guys.

I was wondering that also. Not sure if the folks on Millionaire's Row will be able to see the video screens up there. -
9/2 @ODU

I'm not a medical doctor but I do know more about knee surgery than I'd like. That timetable for EIH's returned seemed pretty quick based on my experience. Heard a lot of good things about Morfor and it sounds like he'll get some carries. -

It looks nice but I thought it would be higher. It's really going to be in the way at center court -
Story and rankings on Malachi de Sousa. http://www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/news/yags-point-forward-deep-dive-into-2018-rankings?platform=hootsuite

Best of luck to him both at Central Oklahoma and at home. He is from the greater Houston area. Hopefully spared from the flooding there.
-
Malachi de Sousa scheduled to visit the weekend of September 14.

It's actually 40 years since Kent State had a home game against a P5 team. By that metric, we're not doing so bad with our 2001 home game against Syracuse. 25 years to go until our next one.
-
And beat some Power Conference teams in their own building. Just like last year.
-
It's certainly up there. We had a year with Delaware, St. Bona and a really good VCU team on our home schedule. More home games than road games has been pretty rare for us. I think if we want more fans to come, the quality home schedule is going to help. I've noticed a bunch of "a la carte" fans in the capital district in recent years. They are season ticket holders for UAlbany football and lacrosse and then season ticket holders for Siena basketball. A strong schedule might convert some of them.

He reclassed to 2017, was a 2018 kid. He had an interesting recruitment experience. He's a 2017 grad who had committed to a D2 school but a couple of D1 schools came knocking this spring and he was going to prep and then go D1 in 2018. I guess the Monmouth scholarship opened and he decided against prep school.

Top 144 countdown has Iona at #96. http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/15002 Amazing how deep they were at guard last year. They lost Jon Sevre and Sam Cassell Jr. and still bring back a really good, experience backcourt in McGill, Much and Casimir.

Melik Martin is visiting today. A PF from the York, PA area and AAU teammate of Antonio Rizzuto.

Agreed the Monmouth game is a nice addition to a solid looking schedule. King Rice has done a nice job at Monmouth. I remember we played them six or seven years ago in a tournament during Rice's first year. His team played at the speed they play now but without as much talent and we blew them out.
-
Great to hear about the Rizzuto commitment. Sounds like a high level of talent and work ethic. A couple of stories about the commitment. http://www.yorkdispatch.com/story/sports/high-school/boys-basketball/2017/08/06/strohecker-northeasterns-rizzuto-chooses-family-albany-college/543787001/ http://www.ydr.com/story/sports/high-school/basketball-boys/2017/08/06/northeastern-standout-chooses-albany-college-home/543784001/

He shot 48% from three last year so I hope so. Jefferson's high school situation looks a little like Ahmad Clark. Both of them played with really highly ranked teammates.

Yale in the Top 144 countdown along with opponents Kent State and Memphis so far. http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/14943 -
Kent State coach Rob Senderoff is a UAlbany alum. Not sure if that would have helped get this game on the schedule. Quality home opponent. Too bad the students won't be here but it should hopefully attract some locals.
-
Best looking road game so far: Holy Cross. On a weekend after Thanksgiving. Not looking a shy schedule so far. Starting off with teams coming off a 20 win and 18 win season in the first two games with Memphis and Louisville looming in December.

We return our top five scorers. I don't think we've done that since the 2005-06 season. That year we brought back our top six scorers. -
To put it all together: LIU Nov. 14 Yale Nov 17 At Dartmouth Nov. 22 At Holy Cross Nov. 25 Bryant Dec. 6 At TUC $iena Dec. 9 at Memphis Dec. 12 at Louisville Dec. 20

Kinda weird. I'd expect to see some more front court players offered for 2018 since we'll be losing Charles, Stire and Foster.
