  1. Is this them trying to change momentum after losing two straight at home against us? Honestly, I had been looking forward to this game but everything I've read says we have no chance. I should probably just go to the movies instead.
  2. Now that you mention it, I'm thinking you against Click on the horse race would be a good time. I'm not sure how Haggy would set the odds on that. I like the kids game at halftime also. Honestly, most years, they would be better off if the Superbowl halftime show was a peewee football game as far as I'm concerned. A few years ago they used to do an alumni shootout on three pointers that was fun. A few times it was former players which made it even better.
  3. We went 20-22 from the line. Both misses were by David Nichols. Freshman! Still, glad to see him get more time and his three pointer just barely rolled out. Good to see the bounce back win. The officiating was surreal but it was a good game for it. I think by the time his career is over, we're going to really dislike #15 for Bing. It might not be fair to judge him during this game since they're probably a frustrated team right now.
  4. I think so. They've played it again SB also. CB said in the interview that's it's a compliment to play zone all night against us.
  5. So how many are in Albany's travel party?......they won't fit on this American Airlines plane? http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/American_Airlines/American_Airlines_ERJ-175_MCE.php I see 64 seats available not including first class. You need to realize something...we are Albany, 3 time defending champs. We will charter, like Duke! Stony Brook flies to both Vermont and Maine.
  6. Someone named Issac Vann returned for Maine. He had been out for over a month. No one knows him yet but you will. I think we all know who Vann is now. He has a bright future and Maine wouldn't be 6-11 had he been healthy. Walsh is doing a nice job bringing in new talent and blending them with some of Woodward's holdovers. He's a good coach and someone Bing will probably be kicking themselves for not hiring when he was available. From all his interviews he seems like a classy guy in victory or defeat. Not everyone is like that. Too much is being made over the time of the game as far as I'm concerned. It's on the schedule so show up and just play. I do think after the tough Vermont and UNH games we were a little vulnerable and Maine was able to exploit that. To me, we're a little thin up front for the full conference schedule unless we're able to get Charles back. Glad to see Hooley back and looking like his old self.
  7. Knew I was tempting fate. It was fun while it lasted.
  8. It's over now. Crap. I didn't think we'd go 16-0 but I didn't think we'd pick up our first loss up there. Congrats to Maine and Walsh. This conference is a minefield this year.
  9. That's just crazy talk. As far as this game being at noon. If it were one of our home games I wouldn't like it but it really doesn't work out that bad. They can play the game and still be home by a reasonable time tonight. If it were a Friday or Saturday night game they'd be travelling over the weekend with a Monday night game pending against Bing. Now I just need to arrange a two-hour lunch...
  10. Realtime RPI today: 84. Albany 85. Syracuse 86. Cincy 88. Temple 90. VCU
  11. A rough shooting year for Hooley but your fifth-year senior going out after games to put up more shots with new players is why he's a captain. Quality leadership. I forgot UNH split their series with both Stony Brook and Vermont last year. We aren't the only one who has a problem with them. They're playing the Seawolves this weekend. That should be a great game.
  12. Wish I could have been there tonight, just caught the end on the ride home. That's two big "showdown" games in a row that we managed to win. I'm glad when we run through the conference schedule the second time that those games aren't back to back again. We play Vermont, then Bing and then UNH the second time.
  13. It'll be interesting to see how we play after a big win at Patrick Gym. UNH is a lot like Vermont has been this year. I don't think we've really seen the true version of them in the OOC. Both teams have been missing guys for a variety of reasons.
  14. Vermont was without one of their guards and will be tougher next time but still an impressive win. I liked that out of a timeout CB posted up Cremo against a smaller Vermont guard. Like the confidence and really getting him minutes in a game like this, especially the FTs at the end. Mike Rowley was awesome. He's come up with a lot of big plays at the end of games but he was a monster today. Against one of the better big guys in the conference.
  15. It's funny how quietly Evan Singletary goes about his business. I didn't even notice the night he put together - 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and only 2 turnovers. If you would have asked me after the game I wouldn't have said he had that great of a night. He just gets it done.
  16. I'm probably dooming him to go scoreless in Vermont by posting this but over the last three games... Stire has: scored double digits in each game. Shot 13 of 16 from the field Shot 7 of 10 from the free throw line Played under 30 minutes in all three games.
  17. Fun crowd. That's about the number you need to make it a good atmosphere. Add some students and Sefcu should be rocking later this winter. UMBC is much improvement. Note to the rest of the AE: Good luck guarding Lyles. When he stops guarding himself so well he could be a terror.
  18. I hope he stays. He has been really solid although I understand it's probably not as big of a role as he'd like. With Chas Brown going home in the first semester I'd have to guess we have at least four scholarships open for next year. Jenkins and Walker should fill two with I would imagine a couple of more guards or small forwards? I've actually wondered if Travis Charles could redshirt this year? Not basing that on anything but the health problems and all the missed time.
  19. He comes from quite a high school program. He played with guys who signed with Tulane, UMass and Dayton. I agree he's the kind of guy we're going to need next year and if he's like Ray I'll be really happy. A little worried when a guy changes schools that often but our JUCOs have been really solid over the last couple of years.
  20. No minutes for Andrews. Nichols and Cremo seem to be taking most of the guard minutes. Nice road win against a pretty solid Cornell team. Excellent game by Ray Sanders and another double digit scoring night from Stire.
  21. Nichols looks solid again tonight so far. Making some heady plays as we finished up the half with two freshman on the floor.
  22. We can take Myles Cherry off the board. He committed to Lafette the other day.
  23. I need to do some research on him...I remember his being small but fast from looking at this a few months ago. Is he any good? It might not be a totally fair comparison but here are Evan Singletary's numbers from his last year at Moberly and Jenkins at Neosho: Singletary: 16 PPG 45% FG 42.5% 3PT 83% FT 3 RPG 5.3 APG Jenkins: 18 PPG 46% FG 46% 3PT 87% FT 3.5 RPG 5.8 APG He seems to do all the things you'd want a PG to do. Distribute, shoot from the outside and knock down free throws at a great rate. I don't think we're going to fall of a cliff next year. As much as Cremo does on the court I think he's just as valuable off. He seems like a guy that's going to be setting the work ethic and team culture at a high level. He just wins.
  24. I like that we've gotten a little choosier in shooting 3's than we were earlier in the season. Also, that we're getting some energy and production from the bench in addition to what we're getting from Cremo. That's a good sign. As goofy as it sounds considering we've won 8 of our last 9, I still don't feel like we've totally fired on all seasons yet this year. Great to see Peter put together maybe his best game of the year. Led us in scoring and assists tonight.
  25. A general admission ticket to the game will only set you back $9.
