Green looked OK health wise to me. Ede was in street clothes tonight though. The impressive thing for me tonight. Going into that kind of environment, the lights down, the banner raising, big crowd with six new guys getting minutes and none of them looked overwhelmed by the stage at all. Singletary and Saunders looked like they've been here for years. Mike Rowley looked good knocking down a couple of midrange jumpers. That's going to help us a lot. Tough night for turnovers for the Rowley brothers but they brutal matchups. I haven't seen Peter Hooley's night mentioned much. 15 pts, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. That's not a bad night considering Providence was keying on him. Friars fans were terrified of Singletary by the time the game was over. We really can have scoring from all five starters on the floor. Providence fan said to me late in the game when it was tied "you're ruining our championship night." Yeah, that's exactly why I drove here. When that three left Hooley's hand and the end I thought we were headed for upset city. Congrats to Wheeler and Stire for their first collegiate points.

It's smart that we've started to unveil the championship banners rather an unfurl them (or not unfurl them.)

One Bid Wonders made their guess at the preseason all-rookie team. Wheeler Baker made the list. They call him a more athletic Four McGlynn. That's a lot to live up to.

Heather signed yesterday as well. We should consider just putting the whole Forster family in the UAlbany Hall of Fame along with the Iatis.

Joe Cremo | G | 6-4 | Scotia, N.Y./Scotia-Glenville Cremo verbally committed to the Great Danes early in 2013. He guided Scotia to the Section II Class A Championship in 2013-14, averaging 25.4 points per game, 12.1 rebounds per game and 5.3 assists per game. Cremo was also named the New York State Class A Player of the Year. He averaged a double-double as well as five assists per game for a Tartans team that went 27-0. Georgetown College that is. An NAIA school. Also of note for local hoops fans, Taran Buie is on his team. It's a small world.

There were a lot of new faces to keep track of in the scrimmage but I thought Saunders played really well. The matchup on Peter Hooley was entertaining and a good showing for his defense. He plays like Gary Johnson but maybe more of shooter. I like the young guys coming off the bench. No real pressure on them early in the season but a chance to build as the season goes on.

CB does value defense. I do think with a small(er) starting frontcourt - 6'6 and 6'8 - without a shot blocker we're going to need to be especially solid on perimeter defense without an eraser back there. Sanders will help that cause.

Game notes are up for the Blue Hen game. High of 48 on Saturday with no precip forecast. A chance for win number 7 which would make us playoff eligible.

Less than two weeks! Glad to hear CB talk about Singletary playing well. He mentioned him somewhere else also. Sounds like he may be our starting PG? Providence announced they'll be unveiling their Big East Championship banner before our game. That should be fun.

So my take away from this thread is that Roberson picked Albany over Florida

A loss. Doesn't mean I'm not going to root hard for them to keep it close and/or have a shot to win. Why not us?!?!?!? Yup. We're a couple of finished drives from making this look a lot better than it does right now. The halftime adjustment should be kidnap RJ Harris and drop him in Canada.
