  1. I'm on board with this. If we're celebrating a win on Nov. 22nd and a .500 record I'm considering that a good year.
  2. Since we're only a month out from the Holy Cross game, I was wondering what you guys think a positive step would look like this fall in the CAA? The first four games look very winnable to me but I'm sure they look very winnable to Holy Cross, CCSU, URI and Columbia too. 3. Also, Yale makes the top 144 countdown at #112
  4. That will be the season opener. Second game of the season will be home against NJIT on Wed. Nov. 19th. I like the slow release of the schedule on Media Monday. It gives me something to look forward to on Mondays.
  5. First game at home vs. St. Francis Nov. 14th.
  6. Add Jesse Bunting from Plymouth, MA to the list. Offers from Northeastern, St. Joes and Fordham.
  7. Official announcement - http://www.ualbanysports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=70287&SPID=7999&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=209600729&DB_OEM_ID=15800 Good to see Coach Pelletier back! I like that we have some former UA players and a local player now on the staff.
  8. Shereesha Richards is playing for Jamica in the FIBA Americas tournament going on in Mexico City over the next couple of days. She had 30 points (Jamica scored 58 total) and had 11 rebounds in a win over El Salvador.
  9. Two new names on the recruiting radar, both bigs: Wyatt Walker, 6'9 PF from Florida. Offers from UTEP, Fordham and Drake to name a few. Kevin Marfco, 6'8 PF from New Jersey. Offers from several MAAC schools and LIU.
  10. College Sports Madness is doing their top 144 team countdown to season tip-off. So far two of our OCC opponents are on the list. I'm guessing UNLV and Providence will up there eventually. Holy Cross #141 Siena #121
  11. Todd Cetnar will be inducted into the Capital District Hall of Fame this weekend.
  12. I haven't seen us as confirmed on the Cancun Challenge but the dates are Nov. 25 + 26th. Other teams confirmed are UNI, Miami (Ohio), Northwestern, Elon, Liberty, Morgan State, North Florida and Virginia Tech. We are: @Providence Nov. 15 @ Cancun Nov. 25+26 @UNLV on Nov. 29 @ Bucknell Dec. 8 Depending on the draw in Cancun that's a pretty tough start in November.
  13. And with the 28th pick in the NBA draft the Clippers pick...the wrong guy (the one on the left.)
  14. Kind of the role that Luke played last year. Still doesn't seem like a ton of front court depth but I guess it's about what we had last year. I like all the options at guard, especially that there are several guys who led their teams to state titles - Green and Singletary to name a few.
  15. Interesting that Ede is listed as a senior this year. I guess our recruiting might be set for next year also. Two seniors on the roster and two scholarships for Stire and Cremo in 2015.
  16. Funniest thing about those pictures, Coach O'Donnell looks to be the same height as Jeremy McKay (6'7) but Wheeler Baker (6'2) towers over him, then he's the same height as Richard Peters (6'10) but Mike Wells (5'10) towers over him, then he towers over Max Twyman (6"5) but is much shorter than Tre Green (6'3.) I guess it's all a matter of perspective.
  17. Maybe, but I don't find it that surprising that a guy in his mid-60's would want to retire. Especially after arguably one of our best DI years so far.
  18. Depends on how Jones sells it. Certainly possible. Milt Richards (the AD before McElroy and Bob Ford) was from Temple and Kansas State. Not that he's necessarily an example of what we'd like from a future AD.
  19. McElroy was the guy we needed and at the right time to put us on track to where we are now. Many times I looked at Joel Thirer at Bing and Captain Self-Promotion at SBU and was happy to have Dr. McElroy who seemed to quietly go about business. Glad he's staying on in some capacity. With both Coach Ford and McElroy still involved with the University I'd like to see them both part of the search process for a new AD.
  20. The thing I'm curious about, we seem to have two commitments for 2015 - a scholarship for Stire (if he's redshirting this year) and Cremo but we will only have senior on the roster. If we were going to add someone else it seems like a one year senior transfer would be perfect to free up a scholarship for 2015. I guess we'll see.
  21. I have to wonder if we're done with the 2014 class. There' been no announcement yet and I thought there might be one after the Tre Green announcement. Possibly not all the reported commitments for the spring are coming?
  22. Every time I see San Antonio's Patty Mills I think of this video: http://youtu.be/wAEXvzrnU34
  23. Might just be those types of people who can't make it at BCS level, come down to a lower level, expect to play etc.. I dunno. But it is interesting that he has been to four schools already (Tyler Junior College, Utah, UAlbany and now Houston Baptist) It's why I always harp on four year kids... I like four year player also but for me it's too simple to say transfers are no good for your program. Every championship team at Albany has had multiple players who were transfers, either juco, BCS or from another school.
  24. According to Big Apple Buckets we are at Yale again. Wasn't last year's game at Yale? Also, the Q at home as well as NJIT and @UNLV.
  25. Announcement made tonight. Third overall and second in a row.
