  1. I was hoping for a 14 seed but I don't think a 15 is bad. I was somewhat outraged by Marist's seed until I looked at the numbers. For comparison: Marist played 11 teams in the top 100 of RPI - they went 7-4 against those teams Army played 7 teams in the top 100 - they went 4-3 Albany played 3 teams in the top 100- we went 1-2 We were better off last year with BU in the conference to give us some quality wins. Encouraging fact about West Virginia is they were upset in last year's tournament in the first round. Let's keep that streak alive for them!
  2. I tried to like your post but apparently I've reached a quote of positive votes for the day. Funny, I got the same message. Never seen it before. Maybe there's nothing positive about Monday mornings.
  3. The regular season matters and it would be great to have some of those games back but this is where we are. It's March and we're dancing so I will gladly take it. The great part about feeling disrespected and being in a tournament is that you have a chance to prove the selection committee was wrong by winning. Let's start there. On the bright side, in today's paper Peter Hooley said he is going to graduate with four championship rings. That gives us a couple more chances for a better seed. I wish that kid had more confidence.
  4. We are going to need to rebound really well. They're going to want to run like mad and we'll have to control pace. Also make sure they only have five guys on the floor at a time...
  5. Don't know why these games are held in Dayton, Ohio. If the winner is going to play in Orlando on Thursday then why not just play the game in Orlando?
  6. Not sure if we have one or two scholarships available for next year. Not a bad thing to have some open scholarships when coming off back to back NCAA appearances.
  7. To add to this for 2015, Joe Cremo's Scotia team won the state title today. Cremo was the tourney MVP. On the women's side, Tiano Jo Carter had a double-double plus six blocks in leading her team to the Maine state title. She is a 2014 commitment.
  8. The old normal isn't the new normal anymore. You might have noticed that our head coach Will Brown keeps getting him team to the NCAA tournament. Every time he does it raises our recruiting profile by bringing additional exposure to our school.
  9. I would sign up for that in a heartbeat. So would Florida probably. The last time we played them they ended up winning the national championship.
  10. A couple of things I haven't seen mentioned: -I had thought Warney's size and speed would bother Sam Rowley but it was just the opposite. Sam was having a field day. -JUCOS. I complained about them in the past but DJ and Gary Johnson have changed all that. They were fantastic today. Both of them will leave UAlbany having never lost a game in the America East tournament. -AE Coaches. If Peter Hooley is going to play out of his mind after you leave him off the first team then please leave him off again next year. -I like home games but there is nothing sweeter than winning a championship on a rival's floor. It just does not get old.
  11. Also set the school scoring record as a junior.
  12. A story on one of the Chicago websites this morning had us interested in Jack George. He's a 6'10 high school senior from Carmel High School.
  13. Coach Abe going back to Iowa would be a pretty cool story. With our school's history with Iowa, it would be the perfect place for our first NCAA tournament win...
  14. His team lost in the state quarterfinals but Baker was announced as a finalist for Mr. Basketball, Great high school career, can't wait to see him next year.
  15. It's a damn shame the game is allowed to be held in that tiny gym. Not just for fans. How much revenue is the conference missing out on because of that decision? Why would conference revenue be a concern here? They voted to keep 250 visiting fans out I'm not saying I care about the conference revenue, I'm just saying it's another reason why it's such a lousy decision.
  16. It's a damn shame the game is allowed to be held in that tiny gym. Not just for fans. How much revenue is the conference missing out on because of that decision?
  17. The Three-peat is complete! New school record for wins also. Some nervous minutes with Richards, Rosario and Craig were in foul trouble at the end of the first half. Phillips and Sarah Royals stepped us and delivered.
  18. Doesn't sound great for any of us getting tickets to the final. Curse you Stony Brook! How elements of the America East tournament experience can you guys ruin in just one year?
  19. Maybe too much focus in this thread of who quit on this team and when they quit! The lesson is don't give up on a Will Brown coached team. Not enough focus on this team that out-toughed a tough, experienced and hungry Vermont team. Gary John with a double-double and locked up Voekl. Really AE coaches? You leave him off the all-conference team and all-defensive teams. A little unsung but Luke Devlin gave us rock-solid minutes off the bench.
  20. Cremo and Scotia move on to the state semi-finals after crushing Bishop Ludden in the semi-finals. Thought this might be a tougher game than it ended up being. Ludden's PG Ben Hackett is going to the ACC next year and his teammate, Dan Kaigler is maybe a MAAC recruit. Thought Cremo might have had a double-double yesterday but couldn't find rebounding stats. He ended up with 17 points.
  21. I thought Gary Johnson might sneak on to one of the all-conference teams. He had a really good senior year, 10th in the conference in scoring while shooting over 50% from the field.
  22. Wheeler Baker was in foul trouble last night but his team pulled out an OT win to move on to the state quarter finals.
  23. I guess this team has spoiled me when a double-digit win over Bing makes me nervous. We move on to Sunday and that's what counts.
