  1. They are calling the new, new rules tonight. You guys may have to stay over in Providence at this rate.
  2. Considering what we lost from last year this schedule is understandable. With so many players returning next year I hope we schedule more aggressively. I like the timing of the Duke game too although we brought a very good team into Michigan State last year with a poor result. I'm curious what Richards can do against the Duke front-line. She's seemed unstoppable so far.
  3. Safe travels. Hopefully you guys make enough noise that we hear you on the broadcast.
  4. Really when you think about how many of the same players will be coming back next year it starts getting crazy. It'll be interesting to see what the ceiling is on this team this year. I know they're really, really good but my expectations are getting a little crazy with each game. The schedule offers some good tests in the next couple of weeks.
  5. That stinks about Odunsi. We're pretty thin at guard right now although we've played GJ and Wiegmann together at times. Otherwise it's pretty much Haas and Reece Williams off the bench.
  6. Instead of having the women's basketball Championship Final the weekend after the semi-finals, like it was last year, they moved it the Monday, March 10th at 4 PM. Why? Do they not want people to be able to attend?
  7. Others can answer this better I'm sure but he did have some players from Duquense go to the NFL. The fact that he got a MAAC football team ranked in the FCS top 25 (IAA at the time) is enough to sell me that he can coach.
  8. Excellent! They should be happy to see us up there in Burlington too.
  9. Season opener for Joel Wincowski - 39 points, 10 rebounds and 11 steals.
  10. Excellent point about politics. We don't need to sully the board with any political discussion. Apple pie talk is probably OK though. I think the cheerleaders get housing preferences or at least they used to.
  11. 4-4 after eight games. Considering we've played 6 of those 8 on the road I should be happy but last night's loss was aggravating. So far this team has seemed a little like the 2011-12. Like that team we have an evident weakness. Unlike that team I think this year's team will be more consistent and hopefully improve on those weaknesses. A couple of random thoughts so far: -at the beginning of the year it seemed like we had a ton of pg options. So far, the only one I've really like is DJ. I think Hooley can run the offense but it's too much to ask him to be our main scoring threat and handle the ball. Hopefully Odunsi is healthy and can contribute and Haas figures out which shot is a good shot. -I like Dave Wiegmann and I thought he played well when GJ was out. He's going to help us win a lot of games this year. That said, I think Gary is playing much better and should get more minutes. His health might be a factor in that right now. -Speaking of GJ, I'd like him to be a little more aggressive on offense. He shooting a great percentage from the field. I'd like him to see him with double digit field goal attempts. -It'll be fun to watch some of the bench guys come along. It's gotta happen, just a question of when. -Wins and losses aside, I'm looking forward to watching this team play until March. There are times I get frustrated that X player isn't aggressive enough but that's just how they play the game. They share the ball, grind and are going to win games from the shoulders up. There doesn't seem to be anybody on the court that "needs" to score and I'm fine with that.
  12. Tough to win on the road. When their 6'9 center is hitting threes I'm not sure what you do.
  13. As I say that, Dudzinsek's fourth foul call was pretty bad too.
  14. whistles not going our way. Holy Cross should go undefeated at home if this is how things are.
  15. Not sure if they're trapping everything or just Haas when he gets the ball at the top of the key. He's made a couple of nice passes out of them for easy baskets but I still don't have a great feeling when the ball is in his hands (yet.) DJ looks like he can get past his man whenever he wants.
  16. I think Puk just became our leader in blocked shots. Check that: he passed Metcalf for 7th place.
  17. Looks like a bright, young(er) guy. I don't see any previous head coaching experience though.
  18. Nice start to the season for Greg Stire. He had 16 and 9 in a win over Schenectady last night. Also, Wheeler Baker had 32 pts as his team won.
  19. Wyland said this morning that's he's already making plans to watch the women in the NCAA tournament next spring. A little early for that kind of talk but no one in the AE looks like world-beaters right now.
  20. It's on the Patriot League site - http://www.campusinsiders.com/network/patriot_league/live?DB_OEM_ID=15800. Hopefully that works. Looks like our game is part of a double-header at HC so we'll probably start late. Most of the predictor boards pick HC by somewhere between 3-5 points. Crusaders have played pretty well so far, this would be a really nice win to grab on the road.
