Not Link. Richard Peters a 6'10 center from Toronto. He was originally signed with Washington State coming out of high school.

Looks like a big commit today from...
-
Freeman committed to Coastal Carolina today.
-
Freeman is visiting Coastal Carolina this weekend. He sounds like an imposing presence in the post - 6'8 and 250. Speaking of imposing presence, Jon Horford has announced he's leaving Michigan and would be eligible next season. It's wayyy too much to ask but hey, you gotta ask.

I'll miss Patrick Gym when it goes. Some great memories there As for Sefcu, more seatbacks, a new scoreboard and maybe a gonzo new food center/merchandise area between Ford Field and Sefcu to service both facilities.

I forgot to post this the other day, Cremo was selected as the local player of the year. Greg Stire (class of 14) was on the first team. http://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Scotia-star-led-championship-run-5379772.php

Saw that former Schenectady high guard Derrick Millinghaus is transferring from Ole Miss. He'll be a junior after the redshirt year.

You are killing it with the recruiting news!
-
He sounds like the kind of player I was hoping for. We should have ample scoring from the other four positions on the floor so a shot-blocking and rebounding specialist would be welcome.

I see Yale, a team we beat in the non-conference schedule, is in the semi-finals of the College Insiders Tournament. We could end up with wins over both the CIT and CBI champions.
-
I agree with Click that this is good experience for a young team. I am slightly amused that: -Many Siena fans were killing us when we were in the CIT a couple years ago. -The first round CBI game was two teams with losing records against Albany - Siena 0-1, SBU 1-2 -The third round CBI game was two teams with losing records against Vermont - Siena 0-1, Illinois State 0-1 College basketball can be a funny game if you let it be.

As an Albany fan, I don't think Coach Abe or Coach Brown owes me anything. They've taken our program on a great rides over the past couple of years. Reasons I'm hopeful CB stays: -He built the program. There's a pride of ownership element that's unique. Will Brown is the identity of UAlbany basketball since we've been D1. -Family issues which have been mentioned. -He might not leave for a better job when UAlbany might soon become a better job.

I'm hoping Odunsi is healthy and playing next year. Tough to pick a lineup when we don't even have a roster. I hope we get a shot-blocking big with one of the last scholarships. If Odunsi is healthy and works out with the team this summer I can see: Odunsi, Hooley, Dallas and the Rowleys. We'd be on the smaller side inside, but big on the perimeter. I don't really know about starting but I just want Mike Rowley, Dallas, Haas and Ede to make big steps forward in the offseason. They'll be the guys we need plus a couple of surprises from the freshman class. My biggest hopes for an early impact is Mike Wells and Twyman. Generally the prep school guys don't have as much of an adjustment to make to college as high school players.

Amazing season for Cremo and Scotia finishes at the TUC. They went 27-0 for the year and win the Federation title. Cremo had 24 pts today and 22, 11 rebounds and 4 assists last night over Albany Academy.
-
I'm curious about Odunsi also. I had high hopes for him this year. Story from Australia about Geremy McKay.

Looking around the rest of the conference coming into this year and saw -Vermont returned all five starters this year. -SBU returned four starters including their backcourt -Hartford returned five starters Albany graduated our starting backcourt from an NCAA tourney team. Then we went out and became an NCAA tournament team again. That is pretty amazing. -

I'm usually a big believer of reality but I'm suspending that belief today. I want to see 40 minutes of tough RooAlbany basketball. Value our possesions, moderate tempo and hit some threes like we did against Duke. Then hope it comes down to a free throw shooting contest - our one advantage. -

Bags were packed for Orlando but a family illness put the brakes on things. Stinks to not be there but part of the saved air fare cash will be donated to UA. A coffee table and lamp got knocked over in the Dane Pound household during the celebration of Tuesday night's win. Gonna play it safe today and watch the game at ATSP. -

I'm jealous. Albany fans did a great job. Heard the UA-UA on TV. Safe travels. -
On this list anyway. CBS rates the coaches in the NCAA tournament on their careers as players. http://www.basketballforum.com/america-east-conference/551786-cbs-sports-ranks-basketball-playing-careers-all-tourney-coaches.html

I think our charter flight leaves tonight at midnight:30 or so. A lot of travel for this team this week. Rough night for Sam but a credit to this team that they won with him having struggling a little. How flippin awesome was it to be the first team to have a game. We had tons of highlights afterwards, breakdowns, and the whole shabang. We are looking to be Cinderella and we're going to Disney World! -

One of the Stony Brook fans said before our game that DJ Evans was a below average point guard. I just watched Grant Hill talking about what a great game DJ played in the NCAA tournament on national TV. Awesome. -
