Marks was on ESPN last night in a four point loss to Iowa State. First time I've gotten to watch him for a whole game. He's an entertaining player - 23 points, 5 rebounds.
-
We had a couple of tries at three that would have made it really interesting also. We battled a pretty good team on the road. We're improving, not there yet but we're getting there. One more shooter, either Hass or Dallas would be great to consistently start hitting. I like "and" better. Haas and Dallas hit consistently.

Dallas in at crunch time.

I think Drake's coach was the head coach at Utah when we won out there with Jamar.

I like this version of Puk. Would like to see more!

Not a bad half. Knocking down some outside shots would have gone a long way but we're still in it despite that.

College is all about tradition. Sometimes you pick the tradition, sometimes the tradition picks you. Our tradition is going to be banners that don't unfurl. I guess rock, chalk, jayhawk was taken.

If anyone is still trying to come up with gift ideas for me, I'd really like a win at Drake. The Bulldogs have some nice wins this year including a win at Fresno State. They're about 10 point favorites in this one. Their website shows a video link, I didn't see payment info but I'm guessing they want some. Also, their fan forum - Drake Nation.

MBB: vs. Yale 7pm (Fri. Dec 20th)

Grinder of a win tonight but I'll take it. Weird flow to the game if there was any flow at all. I thought DJ played one of the best games he's played on both ends of the floor. Aggressive at the right time but didn't force and was a pest of defense. 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. That's good senior point guard play. Quiet night for Sam but made for chances for others. Strange that Dallas got to play tonight but I'm glad I didn't have to wait another year to see him. He looked pretty comfortable. Nice energy from John Puk and better minutes from Luke Devlin that I thought we'd have. Shengalia seemed to reinjure that shoulder again. Bad news. Also, I didn't see Odunsi anywhere tonight. -
UConn showing there is a big gap between #1 and #2 tonight. Yowsa. Hopefully we have Craig back for the Dukies.

I think Dallas is going to be a good player but I don't see that many minutes. Gary Johnson and Wiegmann are a pretty good combo at the SF spot, his natural position. A ton of time will open for him next year. In conference I think we can get away with Mike Rowley at the center spot on some nights. This might be a good chance for him. Haas seems frustratingly close to having an impact. Earlier this year he seemed to take some quick, ill-advised shots. The other night he passed up on some looks I was hoping he'd take. Hopefully he'll find that middle ground somewhere. -
She is. They haven't said what the injury is.

Not liking what I'm seeing so far.

And the CAA team knocked out of the playoffs was knocked out by another CAA team. -

We were bad from the free throw line - 50%. Left a ton of points there. We're better than that. Colgate could stretch the floor with their outside shooting and we haven't been able to prove that we can. I'm hoping that this changes. We will win some games because we're a pretty good in other areas but teams are going to clog in the inside until we can shoot them out of it. Rowley looked like a player of the year candidate tonight. He made it worth braving the snow. GJ and Puk also played well. Our backcourt didn't shoot well or make very good decisions. Seemed like a lot of quick shots and not the best shots. Just not sharp, a lot of mental errors. -

Story in the Record today about Gary Johnson. He talks about looking to score a little more, great to hear. Also, the Colgate message board. -
MBB: @ Brown 7pm (Tues, Dec 10th)

I keep looking for us to develop a "third" scorer and then looking at the stats and we have four guys averaging double figures. It's been a while since that happened. It seems like a matter of time before our "bigs" start contributing more from the bench. Our guards off the bench are more of a concern. Really hoping it starts clicking for Haas. -
Purdue is ranked #23 and Duke beat them by over 20. A strong showing would do a lot. Look at what it did for the Vermont men's team. That said, we probably shouldn't overlook the Q. They are a better team than their record.

Damn, time and photographic evidence! One of the reason I liked what I saw from Mike last night. Knocked down the three, made a drive to the hoop and played pretty good post defense. -

Not to hype him too much but I thought Mike Rowley showed some flashes of what he's capable of. Best he's played by far. Didn't realize until now that Brown was favored going by RPI. I'll take the road win even if we didn't close it out in style. -

Agreed. A week off might have helped after all the travel. I like the way Michael Rowley played defense. Didn't go for the head fakes, held his ground. Very unfreshman-like. Haas still looks out of control. -

I turned the volume off. Michael Rowley is playing well tonight.
