  1. They do seem more aggressive. I liked going for it on fourth down too. What do we have to lose? 2 and 40 for the Hens. You can watch a lot of football and not seem that down and distance combo.
  2. Saw how talented but inconsistent UA volleyball is against UMBC last night. They lost two close sets, then came alive and played blazingly well for two sets and lead in the fifth before faltering in the last few points. Young team that will get better as the year goes on.
  3. I see that Link's Alma Academy team will be playing at the Basketbull Hoops fest in December. Might be fun to catch a couple of games.
  4. It's a little skimpy on Albany but Click will really like the first paragraph.
  5. Saw a bunch of players at University Gym last night. I'm not sure how it will translate on the court but Wiegmann doesn't look like the same guy. Last year he seemed like a skilled guy who was kind of scrawny. That description doesn't fit anymore. He looks more like Devlin now. Jiggetts does not look like a freshman physically. He doesn't seem lilke a guy who will be bothered by a bump in the lane going to the hoop at all. After seeing Dallas, Odunsi and Egharevba combined with Gary Johnson we have a lot of guys 6'4-6-6 to play the small forward and guard spot. It looks like our time of playing a shooting guard as an undersized small forward is over.
  6. Post of the year? Actually a recycled comment from the 2013 recruits thread. Same poster, same player, same comment. Don't write the Stony Brook fans material for them BDSH.
  7. Liked this from Steve Keller ‏of the National Recruiting Report:
  8. I'm hoping to catch a couple of his games this year. It'll be a different experience rooting for CBA for a change but I'm sure I can make the switch.
  9. I'm fine with that. If he can grab some rebounds and block some shots that will work. A 7 footer who can sing the national anthem also? I'm on board! Accueil Link!
  10. Don't forget Greg Stire too. Likely a PF next year.
  11. Excited about this commit! It all starts with the PG and he seems like a good one. Bigger guard, can shoot and create. Had some nice offers from Summit and Horizon schools. This looks like a win!
  12. No photo for Dallas Ennema? As Click pointed out on the AE site, two different preseason publications picked Dallas as the conference Rookie of the year.
  13. He also has the NBA sportsmanship award named for him. Great story if you click on the link. Quality player to add to the program and a NYer also. He's listed as shooting guard in most places but I'd guess he'd probably play a little more at the SF.
  14. A step backward. I'm all for more home games but the tournament was fun, even in Bing.
  15. Sounds like we have a visitor, maybe Max Twyman? In other news, Wisconsin-Green Bay offered Wheeler Baker recently.
  16. "PMS 269 and PMS 124 your colors shining through Hear as the carillons are ringing true..." I can see why Regan and Hansen didn't go with that now.
  17. Early word is he'll be committing to Milwaukee. EDIT: Which is what he did. Bummer. They're in a good conference with a recent history of post season success. I understand what he was looking at. Possibly related, we're getting a visit from Max Twyman this weekend.
  18. No surprise with the Aussies. Hooley has seemed like a captain before he even played his first game. Surprised by Weigmann but credit to him that he's respected by his teammates. I don't remember when we had a JUCO player as a captain before.
  19. Wheeler Baker is visiting today. 6'2 PG from Osseo, Minnesota. I've liked everything I've seen about him. The weather is sunny, a nice day for a tour of the new football field and a commitment from our point guard of the future. I believe the 5'10 Ohio kid currently prepping is the PG of the future...Baker would be his sidekick... I guess we'll see how that plays out. In other news, Brock Stull is going to make an announcement on Monday as to where he's going next year. It's down to Albany, South Dakota St. and Wisconsin-Milkwaukee.
  20. Nice! Sorry to see they aren't doing the open practice. I thought that was really interesting last year. Was thinking with all the international players on the roster the P+G scrimmage could be like the NHL all-star game, North American players on one team and international players on the other. The international players would be heavy favorites.

  22. I wish I did. I've only blown by Portland on the way back from Acadia. Next time I'll have to stop.
  23. Grandson to one of the classiest guys to play in the NBA and a Hall of Famer. Seems like he would be a great addition.
  24. The opposite of Andre Martin, another true freshman. I thought he played against Colgate but I don't see him in the stats.
  25. Haven't heard anything about Jake Meeks being available this week. Probably a week we could use him. ODU had some struggles with the option against the Citadel last week. They gave up over 450 yards on the ground to a not-that-impressive Citadel team. The Citadel was a two point conversion away from stealing that game.
