  1. I saw today that Tanner Gibson landed at Bellarmine University. Best of luck to him there. Hopefully he's healthy and able to contribute to another NCAA run for them.
  2. On paper it certainly looks that way. They'll be hard pressed to match the savvy and onions of last year's team thought. Interesting statement about Haas consider all the options at PG. He was leading the country in assists for a while last year at Juco. Didn't realize Maine was so interested in him until reading the OBW story.
  3. I like it! I do not like that Stony Brook is handling the naming suggestions. "Send a message to Wolfie Seawolf on Facebook." I don't think so.
  4. Kind of thought the quote in the Gazette story about our recruits was interesting.
  5. The new guys are a wild card but I like the core of guys that return. If our starting lineup in November is Evans Hooley Johnson Rowley Puk I'd be pretty happy with that. I'm sure some of the incoming players will break through, hopefully sooner rather than later. I like that just about every player you have listed as a SG has some PG-like abilities to make his teammates better. Egjarevba seems like a little bigger version of Guerrier to me.
  6. Just looking at the AE Championships and saw that of 24 Championships crowned in the AE this year, Albany and Stony Brook combined to win 16 of them. 18 of the 24 went to SUNYs if you add the two Bing won. I remember when existing AE members talked about the SUNY schools being a "bad addition."
  7. With the men's win yesterday that's a four championship weekend! Damn.
  8. Speaking of former players, I see that Gerardo Suero is now playing for Guaros de Lara in Venezuela. It looks like he just joined the team recently.
  9. The Daily News listed her on their first team all-city.We have a lot to make up for next year but she should help.
  10. Drew Smith is up on the Bills roster. That never gets old.
  11. Not a group of schools you see together very often. We and Siena don't offer the same player very often and there have been two instances of it recently, Calixte and NYC Hoops had a story about us and Siena being involved with Jamil Hood Jr. of Green Tech.
  12. A couple of weeks ago his JC coach said: “Actually, Albany and Evansville are looking at some visits,” Fletchall said. “They’ve got some kids on campus this weekend. If Cumberbatch was "lower on our list" and went to an A10 school that's a good sign for the commitment we did get.
  13. At least the people on the Wichata State message board said that. Really can you believe what people on some message board would say...oops, never mind.
  14. Didn't realize we had another scholarship. He red-shirted his freshman year so like Haas will be a three year player.
  15. The road to the conference championship won't be easy either. We'll likely have to beat #4 seed Stony Brook on their home field in the tournament. Payback, I guess, for the basketball tournament.
  16. I'd like that! I was thinking the number of juco players on the roster but I'll take that kind of success also. One thing I was thinking about reloading with JUCO players over four year guys was the state of the conference. Without BU the conference is going to be weaker lacking one of the top teams. On one hand it means an RPI hit. On the other it's a great opportunity to string together some postseason chances and raise our profile even more (and hopefully recruit an even higher caliber of player.) Also, I don't think there is anything wrong with JUCO players. I really like the three guys we have now on our roster. I just thought this team had great cohesion last year and I worry about losing that with a bunch of guys who won't play together as long.
  17. As a soph. Haas essentially takes Paige's place in that class. The next two years we'll have five seniors each year which isn't a bad thing. I agree, I thought we'd have more four year players and I would have liked more. As a fan it' fun to watch guys over the course of their careers. Our roster is going to be Wichita State-like next year.
  18. From Denmark so he's already a Dane. Internationally experience is a big plus also.
  19. I hope you're right but I see him as a very solid piece of the puzzle right now. He can feel free to prove me wrong by winning the POY next year by all means. I see next year's team as being the Aussies team.
  20. Maybe a secret Iati brother we haven't heard about before. An outside sniper would make sense.
  21. It will be interesting to see who the last scholarship goes to. Another guard depending on how healthy Tanner Gibson is? It looks like we have: PG: DJ Evans, Lamin Fulton SG: Hooley, Tanner Gibson, Odunsi SF: Gary Johnson, Dallas Ennema PF: Sam Rowley, Luke Devlin, Dave Weigmann C: John Puk, Shengelia
  22. And he's from Texas. Texas and Iowa have been pretty good to us. Hopefully he has grown up a bit since highschool ... not a fan of the anger. http://rivals.yahoo....ghschool-324410 That's not the first thing you want to see when you hit google, that's for sure. To his credit, he took responsibility and said all the right things afterward. Those kinds of things will happen in practice now and then, too bad for him it happened during a game. It was two years ago and it was high school, hopefully it's in the past. As a player, this is the kind of guy I was hoping for. Bigger guard, who can shoot from the outside and get his own shot. Actually a better player than I was realistically hoping for. 50% from the field, 40% from three and over 80% from the line. He can handle the ball pretty well as his assist numbers show. Joined with Evans, Hooley and Fulton we can have multiple guys with point guard skills on the floor at the same time.
  23. And he's from Texas. Texas and Iowa have been pretty good to us.
