Royals with the lazy pass and turnover. Coach Abe immediately gets a player to the scorer's table. Next two touches Royals does not see the ball. Next inbounds goes to her; Coach Abe immediately calls a timeout.
-
UA up 15; 7 to play.
Amazing the difference when your best player is allowed on the court.
-
Correction: "That's B.S.".
-
Albany with a couple of steals, goes up 11.
Richards called for her second offensive foul of the half; Coach Abe T'd yup for screaming "B.S.".
-
50-45 UA ahead with ten to play.
Attacking the basket a lot more (Richards is playing.)
TJC with four fouls.
-
Wow, Penn State must be headed to a historically bad year.
-
Two fouls each on your two best players four minutes in.
Two airballs on threes with no long-range jumpers made.
7 point Siena lead.... What the heck?
-
A five minute intro for the Siena women, replete with video "highlights".
Yup, not a home game!

The one thing this team is still searching for is the 3 ball. Coughlin has been looked to for that, but going 0-3 from downtown in limited minutes puts the team at a disadvantage when trying to come back. From the stat sheet, Margarita only took one shot. Last year their 3-point ball was the and-1, and its looking similar this year. They still figure to be a very strong team, but sometimes you just need to be able to get down the court and feel confident that you can hit a quick 3 to get back into the game. Nevertheless, a big win vs. Penn St., and I personally think this game might have seen a different result if it were played at home. On to the rest of the season!
I agreed at the time with this, but didn't respond.
Yes, one of this team's flaws is that it only has one designated "sharpshooter", and that shooter isn't shooting that sharp.
It also seems that Royals is having trouble protecting the ball so far this year, and Coach Abe is losing faith in her (she has already lost her starting assignment.)
Throw in the fact that the roster number is small (11), with one obligatory redshirt transfer, and there are definitely some issues to address.
Coach Abe spoke highly of Bose before the season but so far she has not contributed.
Still, Shereesha is Shereesha, Imani seems to be developing well, and as a true freshman Tiana-Jo is filling the void left from Megan's departure. With some expected good coaching let's hope there are less issues later in the year.

Looks like UA got a commitment from a quarterback from South Carolina (Will Brunson): http://247sports.com/Player/Will-Brunson-57547
No interest from any other schools listed.

Fun game to watch, even in a freezing drizzle.
I think I have grown to prefer the 330PM winter start. I enjoy the different game conditions, and being outside for the sunset is always nice.
I see Sakowski won the CAA defensive player of the week award.
His strip of the ball and subsequent recovery was a stellar play.
I don't remember the first interception but I remember that the second one came at the end of the game on a "hail mary", and I remember thinking at the time that it didn't balance out his performance on the last defensive set where he let his receiver get open by 15 yards, to easily score on an 80 yard reception.
I watched the sideline for a good five minutes after that defensive breakdown, and at one point the defensive coordinator handed Sakowski a headset so the coaches in the tower could explain what went wrong. It was only one (horribly) blown assignment, and he did have an otherwise productive game; I just found it slightly ironic that the defensive player of the week could look so bad on one play.

UConn wins 1-0.
Great season.
-
5 and a half to go.
UConn still ahead 1-0.
UA has pulled the goaltender on a timeout.
-
Paula has to show up in this tourney; she is one of the best players in the country.
-
First penalty corner, UA.
-
Ball not out of bounds.
1-0 UConn; three and a half minutes in.
-
Goal UConn, but it is in review.
-
Is there going to be any play-by-play, or just color? Come on!
-
Sykes is the first ever male coach in the Final Four? Interesting.
-
UNC ties it with 5:20 to go, going to overtime
Delayed start for the UA game then?
-
Disappointing, but hopefully the year will still be a success.
The men could beat the Highlanders but the women couldn't beat the Hilltoppers?

I got a kick out of this one:
-
The RPIs have been updated.
The remaining 4 teams, in order of RPI ranking are:
1- North Carolina
3- UConn
4- Syracuse
8- UAlbany!
An improvement of 3 spots for the Lady Danes.
-
Western Kentucky and Colorado are in overtime, fighting for the chance to face the Lady Danes.

Lots to work on, but getting the job done.
