  1. Now, I'm dying to know why... on our last offensive drive and 4 down set... we chose to go deep on 2nd and 9

and 3rd and 9??? We had brought it out to the 30 already and were moving the ball. And we had 5 minutes left on the clock.

This bothered me also. In the first twenty minutes of the game Fiacchi was trusted only once to throw the ball downfield. Then, needing ten yards to keep their drive alive, they twice try for 30+ yard sideline routes.

  2. Interesting. She's still listed on the roster..for what it's worth. Would change the team quite a bit. Outside of Megan..only 3 players on the team for 14-15 are 6' or taller.

I was told she only decided to stop playing basketball a few weeks ago.

Maybe they can get another center in time for the season. If not, Tiana-Jo (6'2" from Maine) looks like she might be a capable freshman.

  3. This is all unofficial at the brain storming level so ... - Minimum $300,000K but the wish list also includes an equipment storage facility and refurbished stands so $500,000. Our target date is by Spring of 2015 so it's up by the NYS High School Champs and we can then bid on larger regional and national events.

Strategy may be to find 1 or 2 large donors to seed the pot and then conduct alum and community outreach.

See all at the BBall game tonight!

Great to see the organization for one of UA'S most successful sports.

D96 brings up some legitimate questions; maybe attention should be focused more on one item than trying to solve all the issues at one time.

If you compare the facilities from two years ago to the facilities we have now, just think what we can have in the future with continued success and interest!

Missed you at the game (obviously), but we have had conversations about mats in the past: is there any money there or will older mats be used on brand new surfaces? (Still surprised at the costs of those things...)

  4. Trying to raise $ for an electronic results board. I know a lot of you feel that should take low priority but we're hoping to find a private sponsor or two. With NYS high school champs and AEast / Regional collegiate vents already scheduled the lack of that piece is embarrassing.

I think it is a fantastic idea, albeit a bit disappointing the university doesn't have money to throw around to all the programs...but maybe a dollar fundraised is sweeter than a dollar budget appropriated?

So what's the plan for the approach? Who's spearheading it? What kind of dollar figure are we looking at? For this coming season?

  5. Of course with McElroy's policy of maximum contracts after a championship season, this could go on in perpetuity...or you have to have gone five straight years with nothing.

Neither option is particularly enticing. Winning "up" games consistently is the best option, but that has been taken off the table.

  6. I looked it up... Yes, 4 winning seasons in 13 years... Granted the first few I'm sure we're difficult. 2 winning season since Jamar left well... That's an eye opener.

Come on, brah, you know I know the stats.

Everything has been said that could be said. Just hope for lightning in a bottle again; playing at the SEFCU is the only saving grace.

  7. Fire Will Brown

    $25K per win?

You shut up and tell me how many winning seasons we have with this coaching staff at the helm. I think it's what...4 in 13 years? Look it up.

Umm, I am pointing out that that figure is absurd at this level. Win how we could win, and that would multiply out to a Big East salary.

  8. If anybody is interested, coach Gordon Graham offers e-mail updates about players and matches if you tell him to add you to his distribution list.

One interesting tidbit I got from the latest e-mail was this piece of information:

"Next up for the Danes is a strong AmericaEast foe, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) on Friday, Feb. 14th, 3:00 pm in Newark, NJ. NJIT was recently added to the conference as an associate member in women's tennis only, thus giving the AE Conference the requisite number of teams so that they retain their automatic qualifier (AQ) for the NCAA team championships."

It looks like NJIT is at least in the peripheral when the AE looks for peer institutions.

  9. Agreed. But you also have to agree that against both UNH and UML we weren't even close to 75% healthy.

Again, if we were healthy we win those games...even though we did play like shyte.

Agreed...specifically the UML game stands out with the injuries.

I am starting to believe that in the AE anything can happen.

It doesn't do anything if I want to talk basketball with a fan from a bigger and better conference, but I guess it is something.
