  1. The web page link in the first post has been updated to include the two Indoor Track & Field championships that UA won today.

Without Boston University competing UA was able to take both titles in dominating fashion.

The women's team had been one year removed from a championship, but now both teams have won titles at their latest opportunity.

    Congratulations to them.

  2. I have been reading the T&F on and off all night; the figures put up by the teams are always impressive. My personal favorite is the 200 M Dash prelims for the men:

    Preliminaries

    1 Long, Dennison SR Umbc % 22.11Q

2 Santana, Jonathan SR Albany 22.29Q

3 Williams Jr., Donald JR Albany 22.42Q

4 Jones, Taariq FR Albany 22.56Q

5 Beckford, Rudje FR Albany 22.66Q

6 Robinson, Austin JR Albany 22.54q

7 Rachiele, Jake SR Albany 22.66q

8 Koenig, Anderson FR Vermont 22.67q

9 McCormack Jr., Winston JR Albany 22.71q

10 Sullivan, Nicholas SO New Hampshire 23.02q

7 out of the 10 qualifiers are UA! There are a lot of points to be won in just this one race.

  3. This thread is the reason I don't post much anymore. The chicken littles and newbies that want change can rip into others all they want. We are fans but our loyalty is to the University. Will Brown will be gone someday we will still be fans of the team and root for success. Comparing the Mens game and the Womens game is wrong. Maine men have beaten the real BU and Vermont. Maine women have 1 conference win. While I do not always agree with "coaching" decisions, I know this:

We have 2 NCAA appearances - The Brook has none - Bingo cheated to get one unmemorable appearance

Try to enjoy the games - there is a reason that we are "fans" and not coaches or administrators.

Some of you are pushing this board towards the piece of $iena that is the $ienahoops board.

Now I will read the well reasoned responses that are sure to be fired off with multiple nanoseconds of thought.

I'll still be sitting in the same seat I have been in since the RAAC opened.

  5. I'm talking about excitement in general, for where everything is headed. I wasn't really talking about Ngachie.

I'm excited about the entire pool of recruits, ones that we get and ones that we at least get interest. Like df said,

    the difference is amazing.

Btw, the recruiting page link from page 3 on this thread says he's commited to Albany as well.

Gotcha. Agreed that there is a lot to get excited about.

Tomorrow morning should be interesting, even if the recruiting period lasts what, a month?

  6. Too early? Heck, I've been excited for 5 months! We knew all of this would drastically impact recruiting, and in all sports.

Nicastro played a significant role in Ngachie's decision. New stadium, a legend of a coach... heck, everyone should want to come to Albany!

I think it is clear that the new stadium and the CAA are paying immediate dividends, but for Ngachie, without the signed national letter of intent there is still reason to be uncertain.

  7. Because a couple of exterior places were installed on the exteriors of both the north and south towers, I thought they were going to install the outer layer.

Watching the webcam so far this week has made me skeptical that this is one of the next steps. Now my theory is that they are going to install the east-west supports for the upper level seating. Viewing things remotely, and also not seeing any steel deliveries, does make me wonder, though.

  8. Another article on Ngachie, showing that he is one of the higher rated FCS recruits this year:

    http://www.ksdk.com/sports/college/article/361211/198/In-the-FCS-Huddle-High-graded-commits-among-FCS-recruiting-haul

ESPN Recruiting Nation (national high grade is 94):

79- Albany - Marcel Ngachie (No. 44 outside linebacker), 6-0, 200icon1.png, Olney, Md. (Our Lady of Good Counsel)

    24/7 SPORTS

3 Stars (out of 5); 88 Grade (national high grade is 101)

Albany - Marcel Ngachie (No. 49 outside linebacker), 6-0, 200, Olney, Md. (Our Lady of Good Counsel)

  9. Washington Post showing that LB Marcel Ngachie is committed (we can wait for tomorrow for the NLOI.):

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/recruiting-insider/post/national-signing-day-2013-kendall-fuller-jonathan-allen-highlight-area-players-expected-to-sign/2013/02/05/9c46275e-6fa8-11e2-ac36-3d8d9dcaa2e2_blog.html

"LB Marcel Ngachie, Good Counsel: The WCAC champions’ leading tackler bypassed bigger schools to commit to Albany. Last season for the Falcons he made 27 solo tackles, including eight for losses, and had 44 assists."

  10. Here's an article stating that TE Kalief Joyner will be signing on Wednesday morning: http://www.myrecordjournal.com/sports/cheshire/article_3b29d0a8-6f33-11e2-8a40-001a4bcf887a.html

On Wednesday morning, the pair will be joined in a National Signing Day ceremony at Cheshire Academy by post-grad strong safety Tommy Bodulus of Pennsylvania (Bucknell), free safety Sam Russell of Massachusetts (Brown), tight end Kalief Joyner of Brooklyn (Albany) and running back Leaon Gordon of Brookfield (Merrimack or Sacred Heart).
