  1. In both articles the TU said Colgate will be @ Casey? Anyone know if this is a mistake?? Previously Marr said ALL games would be @ Fallon. Casey football & soccer only???????
  2. Another player to keep on eye on: Last February in home game 2 or 3 {not sure which; only I can guarantee you I was near freezing to death} I was sitting next to a young attractive Native American girl. I asked her if she had a brother/friend with the team. She said her boy friend was Keelan Seneca. I said I had not seen him play in the fall or first games. She said he was injured but ASSURED me he was REALLY GOOD. Maybe just young love talking; but his #s in high school indeed very good [Compiled 57 goals and 61 assists as a senior at Salamanca High.] Also that school rings a bell, but cannot recall who might have gone there from UA?
  3. If anyone cares; continuing my AmEast post, 3 slots back. Top 100 incoming freshman rankings (for what its worth); UA had two @ #35 & 63 [Hay & Pezzimetti both out of Victor.] Vermont had one @ 93--no other AmEast had any.
  4. post moved: NO WORD on streaming in-lieu of IN-PERSON. Typical lack of communication or simply lack of knowing what they are really doing???????? Anybody have any idea/thoughts how UA fans will be allowed to follow their teams without fans in the stands???? Does anybody really care anymore?? Don't mean to be negative; but got another request for money yesterday. Would be nice if they reported more than just: Quote Due to current New York State COVID-19 guidelines, fan attendance and tailgating at sporting events is prohibited. UAlbany Athletics is committed to adhering to these guidelines, but will monitor the situation closely in the event any change allows fan attendance at all home venues this spring. Should current restrictions lift, the department will be in communication regarding how to secure tickets for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

  6. Speaking of the AmEast; does anyone know what if anything they plan do about NO fans?? i.e ENHANCED espn/espn+ coverage??????? Local streaming the past couple of years was inconsistent at best; perhaps adequate but an upgrade would certainly be IN-ORDER, especially since fans in the stands will be limited at best and maybe nil.
  7. Has the AmEast really shrunk that low???? Not a single pre-season All-American on any of 3 Levels plus Honorable mention? Historically a league that has sent many teams past the first round of the ncaa's and a few into the QTR's {UA multiple times plus a final four} On at least 3 occasions has sent two teams to the tournament. Is it because of last year's late start in the Northeast {always an issue due to weather) and early finish everywhere due to covid?? Also the AmEast had NO fall ball 2020; when most schools had at least some and many of ncaa's favorites had their fall ball hardly interrupted at all??? THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS?
  8. Initial speculation is NO Fans. Perhaps family only. Also looks like playing @ Fallon. Maybe Cuomo will allow 25% as he did for Bills. If I recall Fallon holds something like 1250-1500? Assuming 50 players and staff; 4 members per [200]. WISHFULL thinking leaves 100-150 spots for die hard fans???????????
  9. How insane is that? Enroll in one class, play almost a full season of Lacrosse and transfer back to Yale in time for graduation. No wonder the power 5 want to get out of the NCAA. What is really amazing is WHY the non-power 5's want the NCAA to stay. I know MONEY. But I'm beginning to think the NCAA is in such a mess; its time for a NEW governing body. NOT that I'm willing to storm the NCAA headquarters or anything.
  10. Eli, Not positive, but you still may not be in your actual UA. Your actual account should have a "Ticket History." I still have NOT been able to get into my ACTUAL account. Last heard from Nate 1/22 when he said he was working with TR and would notify me. Anyhow, Good Luck and Enjoy Florida!
  11. Don't mean to contradict your niece; but Pretty sure many programs, especially bigs---Duke, Maryland, Hopkins, Others--- have been practicing since first week in January. Syracuse most definitely had practices in January, before being hit with covid pause. Most Southern Schools have games scheduled 2/6-7 and those that don't will certainly be playing the second weekend in February. Do you think Duke, Hopkins, Towson etc. would be playing games if they "only" started practice 2/1??????? They have all been practicing ALREADY. And most have had a pretty much full fall ball. Then again the NCAA has never been known to be 'FAIR" across the board.
  12. If not even practicing until 2/1; just adds to my belief conference only BEST option for 2021. Still looking for other thoughts and opinions??
  13. CAA teams are playing mostly in-conference; with multiple games against the same opponent. A few regional ooc games with limited travel to fill out schedules will be allowed. Does not look like its leaves many options for UA or the AmEast to get some games with. Perhaps Drexel. Hofstra maybe--not much else other than for umbc. Of course, I could be totally wrong as things are so up in the air and my information is from the fall. I still think AmEast best bet in-conference only/MOSTLY?? But I do agree AmEast needs to announce soon and get moving forward. Did read Duke was to play Vermont 2/7; but that has already been canceled. A lot of teams, especially in the SOUTH having real games (not scrimmages ) as early as 2/6-7. Many have been practicing 2-3 weeks already and have had pretty nearly full fall ball activities. I do not think UA has had a full team together since March and with new additions; I believe playing in-conference only will alleviate some of the competitive disadvantages we will be up against, especially early on. I know bid and NCAA tournament time playing in-conference only could hurt UA. But IMHO, do not see how getting beat-up by teams who have had MUCH more opportunities to prepare is going to help UA. ALL thoughts, opinions, disagreements welcomed. Anyone KNOW if UA has even started on-field full team practice yet??????????????
  14. Are the Vermont men next to cancel their season? AmEast has 3 teams on pause again. Already talk/rumor about making the AmEast tournament top four teams only and bubble location. Or maybe the whole league just says f$%^ the season????????
  15. I take back everything I said yesterday!! At least mostly everything.
  16. Back to same old--same old. No offensive flow. Like others said mostly one-on-one basketball. Got out rebounded by 10 but that was mostly in the first half (second ½ by only 3); but the telling stat. 14-3 in assists. Go with the "hot" guy Kelly in the first half; Horton in the second ½ and let them go 1 on 1. That is NOT an offense. I listened to Wyland & Volker on the radio while muting the HOMIES on ESPN {a little out of sync, but better than the nh pair.} Anyhow in the last 3 minutes Wyland & Voelker were saying over and over again, give it to Horton; I was screaming @ the tv NO!!!!!!!!! Not only could the other team probably hear them, but they already KNEW. We have been asking for years to get some guards who could get in the paint and create their own shot---I guess we should be careful what we wish for. We now seem to have a stable full of these guys; but none of them seem to know where to go with the ball when the shot is not there; OR maybe everyone else is just sitting around WATCHING the show??????? Someone commented that Hutch needs to shoot 1000 3's in practice; at least. he defends and gets a few rebounds when in the game. Healy probably needs to shoot 10,000 in practice, because he is pretty useless otherwise {nothing personal--no offense intended.}
  17. My recommending conference only, really had little to do with covid safety. Just thought it would be the easiest way to fill a schedule and get in the required amount of games to be NCAA eligible {I believe its 13 regular season games or 8 regular +4 league tournament ---anyone know for sure please post.} With many leagues going conference only and some starting late if at all; filling out ooc could be a real issue.
  18. Nate and I have been emailing back & forth two to three times per day with various fixes. Still nothing works.
  19. DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT ATTEMPT. You need to WAIT until you get an email from Nate Mason with a pin before you can reset your account. I learned the hard way and am now waiting for Nate to straighten out my mess. The above site should not have been on the web; until Nate had time to get his emails out.
  20. Last year when Anderson tried to play through his injury; he was awful and like you say looked totally LOST. Early this year more of the same, thought he was just trying too hard? Seems like a good kid and has shown a few glimpses. I hope he works it out; but I have to agree, it looks like he "will not play much."
  21. Just go to ualbanysports.com and hit shop or direct link: https://albany.shoptruespirit.com/shop/ualbany/collections/basketball?categoryId=72114&topCatId=70037 also barns&noble online bookstore has team gear and often has good sales; even though sometimes the items are not always the most recent logo's and styles. The pricing and service is good and being OLD, do not care about latest "style." If I remember {just said I am OLD}, I'll try to post the link, next time b&n has a sale. Anyhow, I think the above link will get you the good stuff. ps just got sale email from b&n: https://albany.bncollege.com/shop/CollectionsView?storeId=19071&parentCatId=40511&urlRequestType=Base&topCatId=40355&categoryId=44300&&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&level=2&j=42493493&sfmc_sub=985065226&l=17918413_HTML&u=648826653&mid=10480238&jb=8540&cm_mmc=Marketing-_-GMPromo_25OffColdWeather_January_2021_Push1-_-1_18_2021-_-702&utm_source=ExactTarget&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=GMPromo_25OffColdWeather_January_2021_Push1&mi_u=985065226
  22. I did not see the beginning of the game and missed the kneeling. The entire AmEast is having a Martin Luther King tribute weekend. I wonder if the kneeling was in tribute to King or has it been a regular occurrence at UA {I have not seen it previously?} Speaking of GDAC, I did make my regular basketball donation this week. Received emails from both Gattuso and Will Brown this week; advertising team gear sales and of course asking for donations. I had made football gdac long ago; but decided to add-in my basketball gdac now. I did not support the "sellout" program, felt it really was a sellout to season ticket holders and long time donors. But after getting assurances that even though the ticket portal and hence "my account" is still LOCKED, all money donated will be properly applied and credited. ps. the donation was handled through UA FOUNDATION and NOT gdac {which I have said for years is how it should be.}
  23. The AmEast would be smart to just play a conference only schedule THIS year. The caa is already doing this; the patriot league likely; and others a strong possibility. The ivy like the article says who knows; but with their earliest possible practice being March 1, will if they play at all probably be conference only. With the addition of NJIT, the AmEast has 8 lacrosse playing members; playing each home & away will give a 14 game schedule. It would allow a little later starting time, less early season bad weather and have more flexibility for covid issues. If they do not go conference only, each team would be on their own scheduling 6 or 7 games with a limited participant pool. Also, they would have greater travel costs and risks, and more than likely be forced to schedule more early season bad weather games to fill out their schedules.
  24. Some say Rizzuto is not a D1 player. They may be right. But IMHO he makes the perfect captain. He gives 110%, 110% of the time; whether he plays 2 minutes or 38 minutes he always stays positive; he only cares about winning; he is fearless and not afraid of getting into the face of any of ANY opponent or teammate. Maybe he does not have Levi Levine's skill level; but like Levi, he is the perfect sole captain.
