  1. For what it's worth and NOT to question Grayed's optimism; but Barnard, O'keefe, Smith, and Kelly are according to Inside Lax, 3 star recruits at best. Everyone else have no stars or have not been rated. While I absolutely agree, with who we have coming back and with a class that appears promising, that there is a lot of excitement for 24/25 season. IMHO UA should improve on their final #18 ranking and may even break into the top 10 again. But final four in the day of the portal and NIL, the Rich always get Richer; pretty tough for UA to crack the nut again???????
  2. While I respect his desire to build UA lacrosse through social media; I feel he is missing an audience of supporters and possibly NIL resources by NOT participating in this blog. Would appreciate it, if you would encourage him to give the blog a try. Thanks.
  3. Was NOT doubting what you heard; just curious why field house/bubble/whatever is no where mentioned in the comprehensive projects reported on this blog??? Is this just a dream/speculation??? Some on this blog have been promoting this for years; does not mean he has any interest?? Now that he is trying to re-establish a failed brewery, in a highly competitive and perhaps overly crowed field may not, leave him resources or ambitions to build anything for/at UA??
  4. Anyone know grayed_danes_nil? Maybe INVITE him to this blog? He seems to provide excellent knowledge of the program and recruits. Perhaps people on the blog can/could provide him potential NIL resources?? Some people prefer NOT to use social media-instagram etc.
  5. My check clears, 3 times per year. Football, Basketball, Lacrosse. Still wondering why it was NOT mentioned in the link that stated this thread. It WAS in a previous review--mentioned an 80 yard inside dome or something (many of us questioned why not make it 20 yds longer, could not be that much more in the scheme of things.) Anyhow, simply asking if this has been pulled or what is its status?????? Also, recently big announcement, bid donation mentioned. WHAT'S UP with that. FAKE news/RUMOR???????
  6. What ever happened to Field House, Bubble, Indoor Practice Facility for football/lax, [whatever you want to call it] ??????????
  7. OK. My mistake. Broadview still =s Basketball 🏀. Still wondering WHY Field House (whatever) not mentioned at all in the linked presentation referenced above?????
  8. What ever happened to Field House, Bubble, Indoor Practice Facility for football/lax, [whatever you want to call it] ??????????
  9. Not sure where you are getting this statement?? Did not redo Broadview just to abandon it. What does Broadview become then???
  10. Game was not published well. Hardly a word in/on local news. Not a social media user, so don’t know if much there per hof. But cw who seems to report on social media to this blog, did not have much as I recall?? As for the game, local tv station said they “scrimmaged” for 45 minutes or so; and did NOT keep any kind of score?? In the past they use to use a weird scoring formula for the spring game? I was not there, maybe Hof can give more details; but sounded to me not a real spring game, but just a “closing spring event”??
  11. TU Article says he prefers playing OFF the ball? Probably still need a true Point? Guard heavy already. Maybe find a big or two even if only for defense and rebounding or as a project???
  12. Saw an interview on CBS Morning Show this AM. They interviewed an "expert" {did not catch his name}. Expert said he DID NOT KNOW if men & women would be 'PAYED" the same and guessed Title 9 like everything else would be going back yo court. ALL sports must be PAID, but had no idea of scale factor the same for all or not. Guessed P5 budgets for salaries would be 20-30 million { but missed if he said 20-30 "additional" or total}. Did say P5s are officially equivalent minor league professional franchises. He tried to to comment on the effect on mid major teams; but the CBS interview team seemed un-interested and kept asking him P5 questions. Obviously I was very disturbed about the lack of interest by the staff of CBS. The expert did try to explain there are over 1000 colleges offering ncaa sports; 350 or so DI and only 69 or 70 P5s; but the CBS interview team did not seem interested on the effect of the ruling on the 930 others???????? The expert said and I am not sure I got this exactly right; but there would no longer be maximum or minimum # of scholarships by sports. He did say scholarship money would go UP and I think he indicated most teams would have smaller rosters. Like I said I'm not sure I got this right; but if true I guess it would mean less bench players and like the METS (sorry Bob) could buy a championship team and dump them the next year when they did not win.
  13. Agree with post and article 100%. When many on this blog were pining for UA to join brook in going to the CAA all sports; I said NO WAY. I was probably in the minority {may have been the only one} who showed displeasure when UA joined the caa for football. OK I will acknowledge the move for football may have been a success {the jury is still out on that IMHO}; but overall, I hate to say I told you so.......BUT.🤫
  14. The CAA overextended their ALLSORTS; making it more difficult to get ncaa bids in (other than football) A ONE BID conference. Is Richmond going Patriot ALL SPORTS or just football? Guesing ALL; Patriot at least LAX wise can/has been multiple bids over the years
  15. ps. Women opened their tournament yesterday 26 teams. No "play-in" games no bye; and they start season same time as men. Also, pretty close to same total number of teams. NCAA Men" must EXPAND tournament NOW. Find a way--STOP MAKING EXCUSES. ANYONE know what the plan is for next year; With the N.East conference back an extra auto bid. Is there any expansion being worked on or just 2 "play-ins" ???????????
  16. IMHO. NIL & the Portal are the END of COLLEGE basketball & football PERIOD. IF the ncaa can get any relief/help from the courts, college sports minus BB/FB "may" survive in some format???? I see the need for UA to join the bandwagon; but IMHO only the RICH will get richer from this new model. Even at the highest levels, few if any Colleges make money on athletics. At the mid/low major and even the poorer power 5; there simply is NOT enough tv/steam/nil money to support College Sports OVERALL. Article after article, coaches at ALL levels predicting program cuts and less athletic sports offerings. At mid/low/P5 bottom dwellers there will be NO CHANCE to compete in BB/FB. It took years for a 16 to knock off a 1, you will never see it again. Might as well form bowl and champ divisions [DI, DI.A, DI.AA, etc.]
  17. Cannot see northeast teams starting any earlier. IMHO time to scrap Memorial weekend tournament; but probably will never happen. Might even improve attendance, which has been on a downward spiral lately, if FINALS did not conflict with other memorial weekend activities/events. Can like you say have more mid week games; and also can do top 8 get first round by with 9-24, play opening games 4games Tuesday then advancing to Saturday; and 4 games Wednesday advancing to Sunday.
  18. Thanks CW. Just think it funny how the ncaa used the term for years in both lax & even basketball. Basketball got creative by mixing up the "play-in" teams with 13 and I think 8 seeds mixed in and even has various expansion plans under consideration. While the stodgy Lax people seem to drag their feet with tournament expansion; even though DI lax expanding # of teams faster than any other sport. Also, as I wrote in my other post No IVYs, NO Army, etc.. Also in inside lax this am and I may have the numbers slightly wrong; but the article said 7 of the top 8 seeds have a combined 38 loses an all time high. Parity has arrived or at least closer. More and more Really GOOD teams are being left out every year. IMHO Army and two or three of the IVYs could absolutely gone final four. With the NorthEast back next year another auto bid on the table. TIME to EXPAND THE TOURNAMENT. There will always be snubs; and mostly especially in basketball the 65-67 "play-in" teams and snubs really have little or no chance of winning the tournament. But in lax IMHO in this day and age pretty much any team in the top 20 to perhaps as high 24or5, would have a legit and competitive chance to be national champs? THIOUGHTS/OPINIONS welcomed and appreciated.
  19. QUESTION: What/Why has the NCAA resisted expanding the field. NO at large IVY league teams this year. Army was number 1 in the country for a couple weeks this year--lost in the Patroit tournament. In the past IVY multiple at large teams: Patriot usually 1 or 2; even the AmEast has had several years with at large entries. Almost 80 DI teams now; only 17 spots--RIDICULOUS! DIII has 38 in their tournament?????????
  20. Will the PLL be using Casey for their upcoming pre-season practice and opening weekend games?? Will this give enough time for the turf to be ready for football in August??
  21. Need to fix TOPIC heading. UA is already in the ncaa tournament. NCAA has not used "play-in" term in a couple of years. Posted correctly in your post.
  22. At some point; University Presidents or Board of Directors or State Governing Boards are going to see that there is not enough NIL or television or streaming money to support ALL Sports at ALL Schools. Perhaps a few schools but most certainly not many will be able to do so. There will be so few, that those choosing this self destructive route, can have fun “playing with themselves.” FACT NO (maybe a few) Schools in the country make money on college sports. How long do you think the few revenue generating sports are going to be happy carrying the rest. Eventually some real students are going to start wondering why their tuition is going towards paying for the tuition plus extra for a few. And if you want to get technical probably ½ or more professional teams either lose money or are supported by their respective leagues. Got to have enough teams to compete; and they don’t have to even worry about running multiple teams like colleges do. Unless of course you count the NBA that for perspective sake has to support the wnba.
  23. Pro Sports have arrived 🤮🤑. Do you really think it will make UA into a power 5 type program???????????😏
  24. If a NIL is the big news? which is for men's BB only at this point; then not any where near BIG NEWS. Also, School of Business named after the Massry family this week, who have been big UA donors; but nothing new from them mentioned?
