  1. +1. I can only repeat my comments from yesterday 11:20AM. Play together & play sixty minutes and UA by far is the best team in the AmEast. NYSteve is correct UA is still a work in progress--too many TO's, face-offs, gound balls [which by the way were much improved today.] all still need improvement. But even with their issues, if they play hard and smart for 60 minutes they will beat any team in the AmEast {IMHO}. Get a chance to see UA OOC vs top 15 (10) in some polls; UMass team Tuesday. Should be a good litmus test.
  2. Agree we made a lot of the same mistakes all three games--not getting face-offs & ground ball, TO's, etc. I think the big difference was not so much Vermont; but UA shooting in the first half. Vermont can score; but their defense is very suspect. Perhaps defensive mistakes in the first half did contribute to vt putting up 11 on UA; but IMHO if UA shoots like they have all year {sans first ½ vs vt}; UA can/should outscore anyone in the AmEast at least, Vermont included. Also, one of it's goals was scored by Hay when he tried to pickup a bouncing ball in the crease and in-advetently knocked into the net. Also, vt was awarded an additional 80 second clock after a UA hold/restart. I do not know the rule but Scott was furiously yelling @ the refs; and of course vt scored near the very end of that questionable extra time awarded?? Anyhow, hope they learned they need to play 60 minutes together as a team and cut down on the mental mistakes of course, EVERY GAME, every minute; starting today.
  3. My son lives in Milwaukee and the firing of Wojceichowski while maybe not official was know over a week ago. When I told my son we were getting an assistant coach from Marquette, he immediately said is UA getting Judson Woj's buddy from Duke. When I said it was Killings, he was not familiar with the name. But for whatever its worth, Killings absolutely knew before he accepted the UA position that Woj was out.
  4. Cuomo announced this AM all indoor and outdoor stadiums and entertainment center allowed to open April 1 @ 20% capacity. Minimum 1500 seats outdoors and 2500 indooor [may have this backwards.]. This should mean Casey [football etc.] and Fallon should both qualify. HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM UA TICKET SALES YET. Probably behind the 8ball as usual. Should have/had a program up and running in anticipation?? Anyone know or hear anything /
  5. Absolutely got a WINNER!! Hope it translates to wins, IMHO it will.
  6. IMHO I think a coach or a member of his staff ABSOLUTELY SHOULD follow the local sports blogs and all other social media related to his/her team. Does not mean she/he has to respond or do anything different because of it. But she/he should absolutely be aware of what fans are thinking and talking about!!
  7. I was/am among those un-happy when Brown left, let go, whatever. I felt and still do, that other than Iati, the entire group of assistant coaches, not Brown should have been let go. Felt with more support from the top [financially & other]; Will would have been the best option to get UA basketball back on track. Obviously, Will was not about to purge his staff and Administration was not about to provide much in assistance. Knew, we would NOT be bringing in a "big" time head coach. With all that said, I'm pretty positive about Killings from what I've read and heard so far. He appears as good and probably BETTER than what would have been available to UA at this point. It is going to be a re-building process, no matter what. While I always respect everyone's opinions on this blog, I do not know what some of you expected UA would be able to get for a new coach. {there aren't that many Rick Pitino's out there--actually there are probably a lot of coaches with a lot of baggage if that is what you want?} So SANS W. Brown, I'm pretty happy with an up & coming assistant out of the Big East and other top conferences. He is articulate and well connected. Wish him luck and GO DANES.
  8. Volleyball sweeps bingo & umbc for the second weekend in a row. Plus both weekends got the short end of the draw playing their two games in one day; while bingo and umbc each drew one game sat & one Sunday. Don"t know how the AmEast sets their 3 team round robin weekends. Anyhow swept both weekends are 6-0 in the conference [7-1 overall] and have at least a 2 game lead on every other team in the conference.
  9. Agree 100% Just maddening how good they can look at times and how bad/confused they look other times. Not that I had any say; but I have been harping since the covid cancel last March, how some sort of expanded/enhanced fall ball would be critical. Not just UA obviously, but so many teams are up and down so far. And for what its worth still think UA Lax got/gets the short end of the stick with football and Casey stadium and limited resources allocated. {but that's a loosing battle I've been complaining about for years.}
  10. Watched the first half from behind the fence. Went home to watch second 1/2 on amtv. Should have stayed home for entire game. As someone said UA got taken to school by Vt in 1st ½. Could not believe it was the same UA team, I watched week 1-2. IL article yesterday said VT better than their record. I think VT believed it & UA did not. Still think UA superior team; but dug themselves too big a hole. Glad we get to play them again. No Patterson today—anyone know WHY
  11. Never cared for her as a player. IMHO overrated; but AGREE 100%, she has earned the right to an extra year if it is her desire to stay.
  12. Not disagreeing at all; but do you really feel this is an issue. The advent of the shot clock seemed to be a death knoll of the two way middie . {I have been lamenting about this since the first year of the clock--which I hate for a lot of other reason also}. Anyhow, interested do you think, the two way middies are making a comeback in lacrosse at other schools and do you think UA's weakness really will be a factor?? Loved it when we had the McClancy's and Osika's of this world; and Marr was certainly one if not the primary proponent of the strategy; but are they still relevant in today's game??
  13. LOVE IT. Awesome idea. I'd love to see Schuyler Hall on the back of a flatbed being hauled up the Northway!
  14. 2018. Liked your assessment a lot. I know I've been a bit over excited, just my optimistic nature {with all the complaining I do on this blog, many would argue about me optimistic, but I really am.} I know it is much too early to say the Train is back and even if it is back, my comments were never intended to make comparisons with previous excursions of the Train. Just like a lot of what I see so far. I also agree, not thrilled with the starting attack yesterday. I really liked the combo of Patterson, Hay and Yunker used against Colgate, but like you say maybe it was just Colgate being so bad. I like Tehoka coming on as the fourth, but remember a couple years back it did not work so well; and I get the feeling Tehoka was not happy as 4th. One player that seems to attack straight on and seems strong on the dodge (besides R. John) is Logan Tucker; but it seems there are a lot of attacks a head of him right now. Anyhow, THANKS for staying with us and for your perspectives. Team even with flaws, certainly seems motivated and showing a lot of flash on both ends of the field so far.
  15. Yes. And NO REPLAYS on goals. Hartford today also did not have a replay set-up. Very disappointed in UA and the AMEast/TV; especially with NO fans--least they could do is UP THEIR GAME a bit. When I complained, I was told to drop it.
  16. Anyhow, back to the game. I remain very IMPRESSED. The Defense has been awesome, Donnelly has looked great in goal [63% save rate today]. He makes all the routine saves and occasionally spectacular; and he so far has by my unofficial count only allowed two long range shots past him (a bug-a-boo for UA goalies, even the real good ones). The offense is so deep the top scorer last week had one point today and we still put up 16, in spite of a lot of turnovers and pretty poor face-offs. Camden Hays our second leading scorer gets helped from the field with an injury never to return {I hope NOT serious or long range} and red shirt sophomore Keelan Seneca takes his spot and gets 2 goals an an assist. I wish SM would stop playing Russian roulette with the face-off guys. Throw one of them to the wolves for awhile and see what happens; but who am I to complain--so far VERY IMPRESSED!
  17. I always order espn+ just before the basketball season and keep it until after Lacrosse season and then cancel again until fall. In my (mostly) ill fated effort to get women's Volleyball streaming enhanced (it is marginally better); I asked what Lacrosse would be like and was told @ Fallon expect no espn+ and considerable (to say the least) LESS quality than what you'd get from Casey stadium. I also asked about road games and was told that he was not sure if AmEast/TV would be simulcast on espn+. So I kept it hoping, but I think I found my answer today?
  18. I only listened on the radio. Good win; but NH kind of handed it to us with 100 yds of penalties and dropped passes & inability to score inside 20. Of course we did hand them plenty of opportunities also.
  19. Speaking of an impressive first game: Two years ago, one of UA's weaknesses was finishing [.e shooting %age.] Last year it seemed to be coming around before the season canceled. Check this out game1---Patterson 4 goals on 4 shoots; Hay 2 for 4; Burgmaster 3 out of 3; Tucker 2 for 2; and Schwab 1/1. That's four guys shooting 100% and one @ 50%. Granted Schwab only took one shoot. Even Casey shot 33%. I know its early but IMPRESSIVE.
  20. SADLY, Sutters is now City Line. OK place but NOT SUTTERS.
  21. Would put UA in bigger Title IX issues than they have now. Of course, they seem to got away with so far???????????/
