  1. That's the problem. You want to build local excitement, stop coaching for just the tourney. The casual fan doesn't get engaged by coming across a box score like this.
  2. Sorry click but the tree fell in the woods and it made another giant sucking sound. Another blown lead. How many thus year? Pretty much every game but two or three.
  3. UNH going to the line..up 2..12 seconds left. No bueno.. We had the leads, we didn't put our foot on the neck. Maybe they should watch some of the women's games to understand tenacity and proper coaching.
  4. Why the heck are we seeing Ennema for what feels like first time this half?
  5. Unreal..just unreal. This shouldn't even be THIS close. At all. Win or lose, I want to hear the excuses for this one.
  6. How much would the big pharma lobby have to do with getting this passed?
  7. Not necessarily a run and gun game, but much more movement off the ball. Quick passes, getting the rotation game going.
  8. It also seems like the more uptempo that Albany pushes things, the better things look. They slow things down and things get stagnant and people stand around and they go one and done.
  9. Does anyone realize how awful UNH is? Even the announcers seem shocked at this score.
  10. Get a lead, lose the lead, get a lead, lose the lead.
  11. Gotta say, I LOVE Ennema's jumper. He just keeps draining them and draining them.
  12. Love this style of play. Keep it up for 40 minutes, keep your foot on the neck and only change if it's not working.
  13. Just checked in on the feed. Is it me, or does there look to be at least 1000 people there, maybe more?
  14. The top fcs qb. The top fcs og plus a four star transfer and three star wr with more to come. Regardless. It's a huge start
  15. True, and great food and restaurants, but the women..not so much. (that does matter to a recruit...)
  16. Haggy, wow, that is harsh. Why do you say that?
  17. Clarification. He's a qb and strong safety. My guess is either safety or wr at ua
  18. New commit. Julian Cox. 6 3 ATH from New Castle, PA. Offers from BC and Villanova
  19. Something else to note is that Albany is the 57th largest media market in the country, not much smaller than Buffalo, and larger than a school like Wichita State (which draws 10k per game) or Evansville (4500/game). The people are there, but the product isn't. People in this community will come out if there's something to be excited about. We saw that with 11k at the football stadium opening day. Good reading in case you're interested http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/m_basketball_RB/Reports/attend/2013.pdf
  20. This is EXACTLY what I wanted to see on this board. Big D, you put it as articulately as I've tried to put it, but succeeded. Good to know that I am not the only one that is frustrated about the stagnancy of the program since Jamar. As tiresome as that refrain may be to some, clearly there are others who share this frustration. Plus, it seems that this has brought a lot of new names out of the woodwork on this board and the more voices the better. Now let's get the program back on the upswing, and this board will be flooded. Isn't that what we ALL want?
  21. Mike was the 4th best prospect OT in his state and 21st best overall nationally when he came out with scholarships from many huge programs, including Stanford (which means he ain't dumb either). Former four star recruit. I hope both he and his brother get to anchor our line for 2 years together. Huge get. I wonder what the connection to Good Counsel is. That place is a factory on both sides of the ball.
  22. This is great conversation guys and I'm thrilled to see it turn in this direction. I agree on the JUCOS side. I understood it with the sudden departure of Suero and Aronholt but outside of that it should be a fix, not a strategy We are all here because we are fans and each if us has a viewpoint to be respected whether it's hope, frustration or unbridled enthusiasm.
  23. Why are you taking legitimate conversation and concerns about the program the trajectory so personally? Without the tourney run last year there were rumors about Brown's future so it's not like this is coming from nowhere. I'm bringing up real issues based on history and fact and you insult and belittle. I don't hear analysis from you, like that which you request from me. I hear excuses.
  24. Look man, I'm as passionate as I can be from 3000 miles away. I want this program to succeed. I remember being in a bar in Austin, Texas during the UCONN game where I had an entire 400 person sports bar rooting for the Danes (i also had offered everyone free Dom Perignon if they won, luckily my expense account didn't take such a hit, and Texas is not a place to welch on an offer, but ...). We all had the enthusiasm grow the next year when the Danes were a 13 seed, and then..we lost Jamar and mediocrity set in, and outside of a big, unprobably run last year, that's all we have had. We seem to have a good group recruiting wise but never exceed the expectations of their promise. It's time to face facts. This program isn't going to grow and become a solid mid-major under this leadership. We're competitive against the middle to bottom thirds of a very very mediocre conference and that's it. 13 years of the same issues year in and year out (barring 2 with Jamar) aren't going to turn Albany into the regional power we all hoped. I'm watching this team struggle against bad bad teams, with all of their starters on the floor, because they aren't adapting to their opponents. And that's the issue year in and year out. At some point, you have to ask yourself, is this all this program is going to be? Because it has the potential to be SO much more. Don't you want SEFCU to have 4500 screaming fans every game? You do that by winning 20-25 year in and year out, and beating the top level of your own conference on a regular basis. When was the last time that happened, outside of those three games last year? With the current leadership, barring some miracle recruits who can take over the game, it's going to be 18-16 every year, with 9-7 in conference. You say my diatribe is tiring, but wasted potential is more tiring. And if this board isn't for discussions like these, then what is it for?
  25. Yup,Clickclack, you can't coach only one style. Great teams/coaches adapt their game plan based on personnel, based on other team's personnel, etc. You can't use as an excues that the other team is playing a style that doesn't suit your game plan. That's the POINT! On a happier note, I gotta admit, I love watching Ennema drain those 2s... *drops the mic*
