  1. He was the linebackers coach under Wannstadt in Pitt, which I believe is how he knows Gattuso.
  2. Based what I read from scouts and on Twitter, Mike is a kid that would probably have gone to a bigger school had we not had the Aussie connection. He has pac-12 talent. A better all around skill set than Sam..and taller.
  3. I imagine it would be a road game against a big CAA type opponent like a Montana or could it be an Army or 'cuse? Or Umass?
  4. I wonder if our new track and field stadium will help the football recruiting. A few of the speed guys from other schools also run track. Speed is the biggest difference on a lot of the skill positions as you go up the ncaa ranks
  5. Wouldn't surprise me that the FBS connection leads us to a money game at Pitt or Maryland those are great recruiting tools.
  6. Who handled Florida. Huge skill position state and we seem to have some inroads there. Same about Jersey
  7. Great hire. Everything I wanted minus being a tad older. Fbs, recruiting, players coach. Now I wonder who the new OC will be. He's a defensive guy so this should be huge
  8. Heres the Temple article http://deadspin.com/how-temple-football-pulled-everything-down-with-it-1478147064
  9. Oh lord. Do we really need to have politics brought up on this forum? I'm doing everything I can to refrain myself from spouting off a 9 page rant on people who don't comprehend what government actually does and has done. But i'll leave that for my ire if they end up hiring in-house for the head football coach. And last time I checked, based America's waistline, Apple Pie was doing JUST fine.
  10. Not that exciting to me other than the name recognition. He's older and didn't have much success as the Head Coach of Utah. Feels more like a stunt hire than something that'd actually help the program win games and move forward.
  11. While perusing the Albany chatter on AGS, I noticed a few folks talking about designs for an indoor performance facility. Dont know that I've seen that referenced here...Anyone of you in the know care to elaborate?
  12. The Timbres and the Sounders are a bit of an outlier when it comes to Soccer. Baseball still draws far more than these events do. For now, soccer is still a youth sport and has been for at least a generation and a half here. Interestingly, baseball and soccer share one major commonality. It's mostly played by middle and upper middle class white kids and latinos.
  13. Now this is the kind of guy I could get behind. FBS pedigree. FCS experience. Defensive minded, which seems to go by the wayside in the CAA sometimes. LOVE the recruiting strength in PA, which is where Linebacker U created its legacy. And he seems to relate to his players, rather than try to be above them...
  14. Could him starting on place of GH have been th difference? We were so much better on the boards this Game
  15. Regardless of the others misdeeds we should like Doc. He built stadiums, wins titles, graduates students and hires good coaches
  16. More official info from ESPN http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/10039731/documents-show-fired-stony-brook-athletic-director-jim-fiore-had-claims-him
  17. Interesting that Kadeem Williams..a pre-season All-America, didn't even make 3rd team offense.
  18. I don't know. But I'd be looking high and far and looking to build a program. Not just a few winning seasons. I'd also opt for offense over defense to get the community excited. The casual fan likes scoring But recruiting is key at this level. Bob Ford is a fantastic coach but without the horses even his brilliance couldn't get the team out of the barn. Who would you hire?
  19. Here's my concern about Rossomundo. Recruiting. He's never done it at this level and on a national geographic level. That's the lifeblood of college football and I don't think he has enough experience there I'd like to see a high level OC from a top FCS or up and comer coord from mid major FBS. Someone from a good program with national contacts and a broad reach I appreciate wanting to get the Bob Ford family tree even deeper but as large as those branches loom that would be very limiting. We also see how this season turned out by what essentially felt like a Bob Ford family tree tryout for McCarthy
  20. I don't actually see the reward a guy like this brings to the table. He hasn't produced anything of late and that's why he was let go, along with a ton of baggage. He inherited one of his NC teams and the other had a Super Bowl MVP (as was stated earlier). I see high risk of alienating a community, a President and just about everyone else and not sure I see the high reward on this guy. If he was such a great coach, he would have upstreamed to FBS a long time ago.
  21. Agreed. When you're building a program build a program. When the big boys let you in act like you've been there before and will be there again. I'll take a couple more mediocre years for long term then quicker success that then implodes. Leveler imploded at Delaware
