  1. So we have 3 commits for next season so far, and only 2 graduations in Patel and Davis? Am I missing something or is Verbal Commits not correct for this year? I know we have to assume transfers out in today's world, but not sure how you can give a scholly for someone who hasn't left yet. For 2022-23 - 13 Scholarships, 1 Walk-on Sr. - Patel and Davis Jr. - Drumgoole, Hutcheson, Schafer So. - Amica, Edmead, Little, Reddish, Neely, Kellogg, Ketner Fr. - Jackson (WO), Beagle Commits for 2023-24 Adnan, Margoupis, Robinson
  2. Have they released seats yet? I haven't seen any info on my season tickets renewal or the Albany Cup game as of yet.
  3. So glad I didnt waste my time trying to watch this game for a second. The ESPN app had UA at about 92% to win late in the game. How the Bing do you choke in the 4th quarter that badly to Fordham? Cant wait to see the article in the paper tomorrow with a positive spin saying it was within a score, and games like this we should win, followed by throwing a few players under the bus for small mistakes they made. Blah. Another loss to blame solely on inept leadership. The definition of grabbing defeat from victories clutches.
  4. So if the suspension is the first 5 games. DK will be back for the tournament in Florida
  5. So the AAC reference is Florida Atlantic is moving to the AAC, not they are a future opponent in the AAC
  6. OOC schedule just released. Includes union at home and Immaculata on the road. Interesting line from the article in the post is: "and host a future American Athletic Conference opponent at home" Does this mean we are joining the AAC? https://ualbanysports.com/news/2022/9/13/mens-basketball-mens-basketball-announces-2022-23-schedule.aspx
  7. I was pissed at myself for not renewing my season tickets and potentially losing my perfect seats, but the way things are going, I'm pretty sure the same or similar seats will be available in the future. No longer pissed at myself. I'm going to make a GDAC donation in the amount I would have made with my tickets. I have no urge to go to a game this season.
  8. Bart Torvik has a few games listed we haven't seen yet: 11/21 - Austin Peay (Sunshine Slam) 11/26 vs Florida Atlantic (home) 11/29 @ American 12/20 @ Northern Illinois https://barttorvik.com/team.php?team=Albany&year=2023 LIU Brooklyn is the only non-conference game his site has the team favored to win.
  9. This is a game against a top 10 FBS opponent. The fact that we stopped them on downs a few times and actually scored in double digits is a huge positive in my mind. I've given up hope on the program and lost confidence in the leadership, but this game has been positive in my mind.
  10. How long before a certain poster starts telling you all the reasons why it couldn't happen and that we should be ashamed of ourselves for pointing out something that is fairly obvious and a good idea? I suggested it as a SUNY tournament because the contracts should be easier to accomplish this way, but expanding it to include a larger number of schools would be fun to. I am not sure if waivers can be created for allowing teams in the same conference to play during the OOC as part of MTE's or not, but it surely would be a lot of fun! 20 D1 schools in NY according to this site (not sure how they make SBU the second best, but thats another discussion for another time) https://www.collegefactual.com/rankings/sports/basketball-men/division1/middle-atlantic/new-york/
  11. Blocked for poor reading comprehension, unnecessary arguing, and all around annoyingness. The original post on this topic clearly says it can't happen because they aren't all in different conferences, so an exercise in putting an idea down for reasons that may or may not exist in a universe where it could possibly happen just gives me a headache.
  12. Wow. I don't know what to say to this comment. I'm just gonna shake my head and wonder why I still post here. Something about your posts always rub me the wrong way and this one is no exception. I guess some people always want to argue. Definitely going to leave this board for a while, and help speed up the demise of the dwindling active fan base here. It's no longer fun to post and be active.
  13. I know what has happened historically, but that doesn't mean it is right or makes sense. We have 4 SUNY schools that are division 1 in Athletics. While none are huge national names, games against each other should draw pretty well. In a perfect world all 4 SUNY schools would be in different conferences and there would be a SUNY Tournament on the OOC calendar each year that rotates from city to city for the SUNY Cup or something like that, but alas a smart and easy scheduling solution like that is above the heads of the SUNY leadership....
  14. Confirmed OOC schedule so far: 11/7 @ Towson 11/12 @ Siena (Albany Cup/MVP Arena/Neutral Site) 11/17 @ St Joes 11/21 and 11/22 @ Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach (Ocean Bracket) Teams in our bracket are Presbyterian, Austin Peay, and Bucknell 12/10 @ Providence 12/28 @ Virginia Towson schedule released today so that one @bob87mentioned is now confirmed.
  15. Still makes no sense to me. This should be a no brainer. UA and Bing should both play SBU and Buffalo each year. Easy 2 non conference games to schedule. Watch us end up with a D3 on the schedule again.... Blah.
  16. I haven't seen either of those dates listed anywhere I felt was official, but I did put those in the expected games.
  17. Confirmed OOC schedule so far: 11/12 @ Siena (Albany Cup/MVP Arena/Neutral Site) 11/17 @ St Joes 11/21 and 11/22 @ Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach (Ocean Bracket) Teams in our bracket are Presbyterian, Austin Peay, and Bucknell 12/10 @ Providence 12/28 @ Virginia Potential Games: Road Games (Return from last seasons home games): @Towson, @Harvard, @Columbia, @Niagara Home Games (Return from last seasons road games): La Salle, Yale, Lehigh No idea if the above were home and home contracts, but they make sense. I am doubting that any of the other games from last years Kentucky/Kansas trip will have return games, but of course they could. If all of the above happen, that is 13 OOC games (Counts as 12 for game limits because of the MTE). With a 16 game conference schedule this year, I am guessing there is only 1 or 2 more games left to announce. With the SEFCU construction I would guess that 1 will be a road game and 1 would be a home game. Having only 3 or 4 OOC home games is probably about right this year. Enough to play a few home events on a strange court, but more importantly it gives additional ability to pack a home schedule the following year for the renovated arena.
  18. You are probably right, but I put it in the media day thread as I was supposed to add a comment to the links about how it is interesting that this move happened after media day, then point out the articles about how great their recruiting is and how they might be a CAA powerhouse right away - but I hit submit reply before I added the comments.
  19. https://nuhuskies.com/news/2022/8/3/athletics-campbell-university-accepts-invitation-to-join-caa-in-2023.aspx https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/33323417/how-campbell-small-fcs-school-north-carolina-competing-deion-sanders-fbs-teams https://footballscoop.com/news/recruiting-nfl-mike-minter-deion-sanders-coach-prime-campbell-camels Edited to add context: Interesting that they announced this after media day. I guess they figured they didn't want to take away any excitement from this coming season and didn't want any reporters focusing on this change. Either way, a quick google search will show how they are doing with recruitment. Getting lots of kids that would normally go FBS and with that they have the top ranked FCS recruiting class this year. They will probably contend in the CAA on day 1 next season.
  20. After the figure out where to play, then you gotta figure out how to deal with season tickets....
  21. Can't blame Tibbs for taking an opportunity at ND! Regardless of what may have happened with other coaches and the past, I am thinking that jumping at that opportunity is a no brainer.
  22. Albany Attendance in the D1 Era 2000 - 1,290 2001 - 1,148 2002 - 1,649 2003 - 1,168 2004 - 1,193 2005 - 1,945 2006 - 2,541 2007 - 3,175 2008 - 3,031 2009 - 2,826 2010 - 2,646 2011 - 2,163 2012 - 2,480 2013 - 2,924 2014 - 2,656 2015 - 3,390 2016 - 3,160 2017 - 2,654 2018 - 2,474 2019 - 2,105 2020 - 2,162 2021 - COVID 2022 -
  23. I still have delusional hopes of needing more seating, not less, but if the entire place is chairbacks then that's a good thing. I'd rather have a full loud arena then the empty echo chamber. Didnt the team average over 4k fans 2014-15?
  24. I saw an email about the coaching staff being filled out that no one posted here, but I bet he would make a great coach somewhere with the experience he has over the last 2 decades.
  25. Classy move to connect to the old and for Jamar to embrace it. I don't know if DK and WB have any type of relationship, but with Brown local I'd love to see them have a relationship as well.
