Reminds me a lot of John Gallagher...hoists up a million 3's and don't defend anything. I know the TU indicated he emphasizes defense but his career numbers tell a different story.

His teams are middling at best on defense, don't rebound the ball and don't get to the FT line.

I don't know the numbers, but make sure you look at the defensive stats for his conference record. From what I have read, he did a great job at scheduling "up" and "money" games in their OOC schedule. Gotta imagine the defensive stats will take a hit when you are a low low major playing against the big schools.

  2. It looks like he would have to sit a year unless he was granted a waiver. Looks like he could be a steal if he came. One of those kids that would be a star in the AE from day one, but not get a lot of playing time at a school like Seton Hall till he was a junior or senior.

Verbal commits also shows a Marquette offer before he signed at Seton Hall. His ESPN recruiting page showed a lot of interest from some real big programs...

  3. Wyland seems to still be pushing for Brown to Siena. If there wasn't a grain of truth, why would he push it? Is there a financial benefit for him and one of his stations if Brown jumps?

While i would hate it, It potentially makes sense for Brown. A small bump in pay, could negotiate more control, a larger budget, more outside opps for income with LCCs donor base, and he doesn't need to uproot his family.

Please don't go Will. If you must go, don't go to LCC. I'd hate to move you from friend to foe/enemy.

  4. Seriously? Complaining over parking? In the basketball forum I got yelled at for stating the parking was fine and the tickets are underpriced, not overpriced. People said that we were not a big program and should work on attendance first.

Well in LAX, we are a big program. Some of the highest attendance in the nation. We are Duke/Syracuse/Kentucky/Kansas/etc. The school has to attempt to capitalize and get as close to breaking even as possible.

Stop being so cheap and complaining over a dime. Support the program. More $$$ for them will equal better product for us in the long run.

That won't happen. Brown is FORCED to do it. At least from what I remember during a pre-season season ticket holder event I attended like 3 years ago where that question was asked. Don't remember if it was by the AE or by the school...but he said he has no choice in the matter (not Oneonta specifically but scheduling D2/D3).

I was at that same event. It was 3 years ago. I think he said he was forced to because he needed another home game and couldn't get anyone else. The school wanted at least 15 home games to help with season ticket sales. They probably had a multi year agreement.

  6. With so many new faces, I have no idea what we need. Typically, on most college teams, there are between 8-10 players that get into the rotation. At the AE level, I think the goal is normally to have a roster with 5 Bigs,  5 guards, and 3 swing/wing types.

The team has 3 players listed at wing now (Campbell, Fromm, and deSousa). Campbell graduates after this season. I see a wing on the 2019 wishlist more than now.

The team has only 4 "Bigs" currently - Lauderdale, Lulka, French, and Hank. Landing another 6'8" or 6'9" mobile big would be my first target

The team has only 4 guards - none listed as a SG currently - Clark, Brooks, Healy, and Rizzuto are all considered point guards. Find me a sharpshooter!

  7. We gotta stop hyping these kids lol. Us addicted fans should not be getting this excited this time of year for a team with only 2 returning players that saw any game time at all (Clark and Campbell).

I gotta stop worrying if Rizzuto or deSousa will red shirt. Who is gonna get time with all the apparent talent being brought in.

At most Brown will go 9 deep, not sure if I have ever seen him regularly give more players than that minutes. I see 11 players right now that could step in and play, based on written words and youtube, with 2 scholarships to give.

I'm worried that we will all get overly excited, set expectations way too high for such a young team, then get dissapointed with a 4th place finish and an exit from the AE playoffs in the second round.
