  1. This was a team with all components ready to win a championship. His turnovers sucked but his talent was among the best in the league. With a year under his belt, and possibly learning and adjusting to the ncaa d1 game, he could have improved greatly. So we can focus on his shortcomings, but we also must admit he was a vital part of the team. We just took a big hit. Let's go Sox, pound the Yankees in the ground.
  2. and my college basketball world just came crashing down... Unbelievable.
  3. Fans win prizes if a UA XP or FG lands in the pond? Maybe some fans will put in canoes and kayaks to wait for the footballs???? Who's gettin excited!
  4. I think this best explains it. And the only reason SBU has made any steps is because LaValle funneled every cent he could into the university. Although SUNY has never much cared on making NY nationally competitive on the athletics side of things. Buffalo has been a joke at the top level.
  5. These CBS reports are stating that the schools have been in informal talks with the A10 and the SunBelt. If they can be talking, why couldn't the CAA be talking as well? Legal ramifications for whom and for what? That's a whole nother ballgame. I just want to see the shovels hitting the ground for the stadium.
  6. Has anyone heard any rumors coming out of the CAA about invitations/additions to fill the losses? Any rumors from the UA inner circle?
  7. 0-7 now. Lost to bucknell. Getting slapped around in the ground ball and faceoff categories, same old story. http://www.ualbanysports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=205383278&DB_OEM_ID=15800
  8. Let's see how the remainder of the season shakes out. If we win the AE championship, all will be forgotten. I don't want to discuss things because I'm a bit baffled by the decline. I had high hopes for this season. So far, it's been UGLY. Again, I expected much more with our offense. I would have expected 12+ goals per game. Not getting even close.Big assumptions... if Marr was canned.. that Syracuse would want him or had room for him... or that kids that began their careers already in Albany would want to make a switch, or if Syracuse would want them. The b-ball coach hasn't performed exceptionally well either, and he just announced a contract extension. As of late, I'm not getting much inside info on the program... so who knows what is happening and why. Let's face it, maybe the talent level isn't there. The Defense? Where's the high powered scoring that was advertised? Advertised from outside sources of course, because I never hear a word about the program through Marr.
  9. Looks like Dan is turning heads... as from the tweets above, he has interest from three nfl teams. Also, says he has private workouts with both the jets and giants.
  10. I've been trying not to comment, as I have nothing good to say about this program. Unbelievable is all i have to say. I'm not sure he deserves to survive this, as it has been going on for a long long time now. 2008 to the present.... mediocrity to an utter disaster.... basement D1 lacrosse.
  11. Thank God I didn't drive all the way down to Albany early to see this game.
  12. 8 - 13 with 4:50 left to go... They still offer the paper bags at the supermarkets? Punch a nose hole and two eye holes, and we have ourselves an outfit to the lacrosse games. CANISIUS.
  13. I'm ready to vomit. We are getting spanked by canisius. CANISIUS! Time to make some changes.
  14. Say what? The downward spiral hasn't stopped, it would be abnormal NOT to talk. I like Marr, but am baffled how far we've deteriorated with this program. There are no signs things have improved. The last 15 games........... a record of 2-13
  15. I know UMass is good this year... turned out 17-7. But check out the stats - shots, groundballs, faceoffs. I didn't want to go back and look but I did. Horrifying.
  16. I'm trying to deal positively with these types of disappointments, but seriously, WTF? Guess the luster of the glory season is gone. Still have the office mates close to the program? I went to high school with a guy who was a trainer for Marr back in the early 2000s, but I haven't been in contact for a while. And I haven't been able to follow as close as I normally do.
  17. Got buried again today. I think it turned out 16-6 Starting to feel like its going to end in ugly fashion this year.
  18. You're welcome. Not much chatter for the Danes compared to some other schools, but there are several that know their lacrosse. The last poster who wrote "10 or so unforced turnovers from the offense throughout the game" against Drexel jolted my memory. There were quite a few bad turnovers. The offense does have a bit of work to do to get up to par. Seasons young, plenty of time to work out the kinks.
  19. What lax forum where? Is this just speculation? Under Albany Great Danes 2012 http://network.laxpower.com/laxforum/viewforum.php?f=1 I'd bet it's true. Therefore, having some experience for Huber will benefit the team next year... if he's the chosen one.
  20. Over on the lax forum, they're saying that Cathers has left the universtiy. I hope they give Huber at least a bit of time in net.
  21. My conclusion is that we are simply not strong in the keeper position. With the loss of Cathers, we took a big hit. Defense has improved, but not to the degree it will cover up our net weakness. I'm disappointed with our offensive start to the season. I thought we'd be scoring 10+ minimum every game. Drexel was more aggressive on both ends. On offense, we need to spread out a bit more, and move the ball around much quicker. We're running with the ball to make too many short, rainbow passes letting the defense adjust. On defense, we don't show enough aggression and we're not pressing out. I don't know much about Huber's skills, but we should test him.
