  1. I was totally disappointed with the game, so I have refrained from writing. Cathers would have started, without a doubt. Let's hope as the season goes along that Carroll improves. The new Cuse goalkeeper, actually both of them, didn't have trouble with the background, although they might be adjusted by now. He did let in 8 in the 1st half, and only 4 in the 2nd... so I was more disappointed in the lack of offense, as I anticipated more. It's the first game against, always, one of the best teams in the country.
  2. Just read this and looked at the page... about friggin time! It is a dramatic improvement.
  3. Pounder, if you're intersted in adding this to your menu and twitter updates, lacrosse has twitter and facebook http://twitter.com/#!/UAlbanyLacrosse https://www.facebook.com/pages/UAlbany-Mens-Lacrosse/148331875199499#!/pages/UAlbany-Mens-Lacrosse/148331875199499 Resetarits named to the tewaaraton watch list: http://insidelacrosse.com/news/2012/02/15/2012-tewaaraton-award-watch-list-announced
  4. Gametime for the Syracuse game changed from the original schedule, now @ 2pm For those not going, I heard it was going to be on TWC3 in the local area.
  5. Any information on a successor to Philip? http://www.albany.edu/news/19155.php
  6. This is news I didn't want to hear. You're spot on, if done right, bu could be the next 'denver' in college lacrosse. From no program, to being highly ranked in a few short years. Their athletics are already the strongest in the AE, now a new mens lacrosse team with a brand new facility coming with it.... Boston's a fun town... and a great place to go to college. Not hard to sell the city to new recruits. Too bad they weren't starting football instead, and started talk about an AE football conference. That would have been good news.
  7. http://insidelacrosse.com/news/2011/11/10/boston-university-having-serious-internal-conversations-about-adding-mens-lacrosse Rumor has it they have been talking about adding multiple sports.... Personally, I don't like adding yet another team to the mix.
  8. Rumor has it that boston u is going to be adding M lacrosse... possible announcement tomorrow.
  9. More on UA/Towson scrimmage: "WOW, talk about a difference in size but not in heart. While the the Danes and Tigers don't necessarily have the same size and outright athleticism as the Penn State and Hopkins squads, they sure do aim to play as fast, or faster. This scrimmage felt more like a game than any other I attended. The teams pressed and played hard, the clock and full scoreboard were running the whole time, and there was even a nice comeback. I only caught the end of the game, when Albany was trailing 8-9 I believe. But the Danes dominated on offense for the final stanza, scoring three to walk away the 11-10 winners. The Thompsons are not to be triffled with. Miles made it look effortless working from X, frequently getting to GLE, and rolling his weight to shift his defenseman and create an angle to score. Be it a solid stick fake, a quick pass, or a well timed lean, this kid can figure out how to get points up. Lyle is going to torment defenders this year (though he may start to pay the price when he gets up against bigger, nastier poles). He routinely took possessions behind, cradling and plotting his move. Once defenders started going for his stick, he would just flaunt his cradle almost, letting the defender whack him, the stick, whatever, almost to the point of taunting while not losing the ball. It worked well, as Lyle never did turn it over, drawing a few penalties instead. Doing it to maintain possession is one thing, but if a defender thinks Lyle is rubbing his nose in it, he is going to take a beating. You started to see that from the Towson poles who had had their fill." Zach Babo

  11. Last I heard he was academically ineligible.. Couldn't find out if there's a scrimmage or not. @ Towson Miles Thompson - five goals, one assist Ty Thompson - two goals, one assist Lyle Thompson - one goal, three assists 13/29 faceoff wins
  12. I agree with Clack, they should be throwing the University a nice lump sum of cash, but I'd say more along the lines of over a million. The university bends over backwards to accomodate training camp. From what I see, we do gain some recognition as the host, but it doesn't really do much for me anymore. The university's commitment to them should be rewarded.

  14. Wow, some of these people love to twitter... next thing you know, we'll be hearing about what side of the bed they sleep on. A bit overboard in my opinion.
  15. Thanks Bob, I was thinking the same thing.
  16. Better than most articles in the siena rag, but even it gets some facts wrong. VB isn't 8-3 in the d1 era. He also fails to mention that some sports UA is so far ahead of LCC, that LCC has either has given up playing UA(see VB this year) or given up the sport entirely(see football) And now for something completely different: http://uofalbany.blogspot.com/2009/01/ualbany-vs-siena-annual-series.html

  20. And if something happens to McRae (coach had said they are waiting to review his academic performance towards the end of the school year), his scholarship would be available. I assume it would go to Puk for the upcoming year.
  21. Good breakdown Patch. As for Puk... he doesn't have the scholarship for this year? Does that mean he plays or doesn't play? If he plays without the scholarship this coming season, how many more years is he eligible to play?
  22. Along with next year's redshirt freshmen, 1. Logan Aronhalt - 6'3" - 215lbs 2. Jake Lindfors - 6'10" - 225lbs We have freshmen: 3. Mike Black – Oak Park, IL – 6’0” – 170 lbs 4.
