FROM THE UALBANY ATHLETIC WEBSITE: BOUNA COUNDOUL SIGNS DEVELOPMENTAL CONTRACT WITH MLS' COLORADO RAPIDS Denver, Colo. – Former University at Albany goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul has signed a developmental contract with Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids. Coundoul, who recently earned his undergraduate degree in information science with a minor in French, has reported to the team and replaces Michael Cardenas on the roster. "He is a tremendous story that can inspire all young goalkeepers," UAlbany coach Johan Aarnio commented. "As a graduating senior and the first player to reach the MLS ranks from our program, Bouna will develop well as a professional. His demeanor with others and professionalism make him a true role model for other student-athletes to emulate." Coundoul, the 2004 America East Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, ranked third among the NCAA Division I leaders in goals against average at 0.54 per game. He posted a .901 save percentage with 11 shutouts as a senior. Coundoul led UAlbany to a 12-4-2 record, the program’s highest win total since 1992, and a share of the America East regular-season title. A native of Dakar, Senegal, Coundoul was named first-team NSCAA/adidas All-New York Region in his final season. He also was chosen to the All-America East Conference team for the third consecutive year, including a pair of first-team selections. During his UAlbany career, Coundoul recorded a 0.93 goals against average and 17 shutouts, plus made 271 saves. He once posted a shutout streak that lasted 426 minutes over six matches.

if Morin couldnt come in, then thats how it was. Halloran was a soilder all year. Louisville just finaly got her. Give them credit. What i hope these last two games have done however is to get UA recognized, and maybe have them play 4-5 REALLY GOOD TEAMS next year on the sched. Frankly, with the record they compiled this year, if they finished with 3-4 more loses i wouldnt be upset. It would prep them for bigger things, and a victory if they face the NCAA's again. Realize this, there were only 3 seniors on this team this year...3...THIS TEAM MAYBE UNSTOPPABLE NEXT YEAR IF THINGS FALLS INTO PLACE. -

ive been home for the past few days, so i havent beenable to see the news from around albany...yea im not even talking about a pole that big...a small pole if anything, just something for the fans and players to see. Yea to me that Field Hockey looks more near 1k then 500. I was pretty close on the lacrosse field.
-
they never mentioned how many people each field can take...if i had to guess, 2k for the mens, and maybe 1k for the field hockey?
-
exactly like that...doesnt even need to be attached to the American Flag pole...seriously, how hard is it to put an extra flag pole into the ground? Plus, i have a feeling, the Athletic Dept would pay for the banners to show off its accomplishments.
-
when they announce their frosh? Im guessing soon also?
-
statefan...im just wondering have you listened to our broadcast on WCDB this year?

John Fallon Field will be its new name. $250,000 stadium known as Phase 1. Will be done by September 1st of this year. Recommend you look at the photos, great pic of President Hall in bulldozer ripping grass up with a UAlbany Helmet on.

there is a article with photo gallery on the athletic website...looks like it will be awesome...as the new head play by play guy for Lacrosse for WCDB, im excited about it.

Coaches vs Cancer is the one they are looking to get in against Florida. -
6-foot-2 guard Mike Trimboli who was a prospect for Siena before the Lanier signing, signed up with UVM. Trimboli, averaged 28 points per game at St. Luke's High School in New Canaan, Conn. It affects us, so i figure i post it.

well us at cdb talked with Marr after the championship game vs SB, he said what others said, that they were planning on putting the field down with some stands, no press box etc...But he said that he hoped the 3 straigh titles etc...would be something to get donors out to help get the press box in. what i would like to see done is them put flag powels in at these stadiums with championship banners or flags on them. same for softball, football etc...

exactly...we have no control over the seedings, the ranking system is screwed up, just like the BCS in football and the RPI system in basketball, so we must deal with what we got. End of Story. Morin will go against NW and maybe will shock a few people. Like i said before, i believe we this ranking has alot to do with we are a first time team in this thing

From the UAlbany Athletic Page: Gered Burns (Guilderland H.S.) won the 800-meter run at the 129th IC4A Track & Field Championships on Sunday afternoon at Princeton University ’s Weaver Stadium. Burns, who is the first outdoor IC4A champion in the program’s history, established a school record with a time of 1:48.66. Congrads to him. Once again proving what a year it has been for UA Athletics

I was flipping around Fox23 website, and they had the video section. Had a great piece on Scott Marr running practice before the Virginia Game. In it, the first 5 seconds, he tells Rae that he got a letter saying he was gonna get a tryout with MLL next year. Congrads to him. I wonder if Duquino or anyone else got one.

i think the ranking is to the effect that we are a first time team in the Tournament. Thats why i think we got that ranking. Look at it this way: We are 14th in the bracket out of 16, 56th overall out of 64. To me, i dont see this as a horrible ranking. Realize that an average midwest or west cost team will be ranked better then us because of competition. Until UA starts playing top ranked teams, this is what we are gonna get. Im not complaining about the sched at all. But im just saying that avg west cost and midwest teams will still get that on there sched. I can guarantee we probably have the best ranking out of any Northeast Team in this tournament. I dont see this team as a Top 45 team in the softball world. Not with the way the midwest and west cost own the NCAA Softball. You get one team from the Pac-10, SEC or Big 12 on your sched, and you win your conference, your gonna get a higher ranking then us, even if you lost that game. This is however is what Albany needs. NCAA tournament bearths will get you a game down in Florida or out West early in the season, then your in good shape. I think this ranking is about right for this team. Now lets go shock the hell out of of the Cats, Irish and Cards
