  1. i have been to 2-3 of there games this year...its a treat. I only wish the University had a Ice Hockey Program like RPI and Union.
  2. WOW...bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with no outs and they pull it off. Wht a way to start.
  3. Weekend tournament in Fairfax between 'Cuse, George Mason and others has been snowed out. Not sure if it will be made up. Odds are it wont.
  4. Mikus doesnt make the rookie team Craig? You know more then me, so prove me wrong.
  5. Three game series at N. Carolina A&T kicks off today. Was going to be a DH tomorrow, but they changed it back to just a three game set. Hopefulyl the weather in Carolina is nice for us. Hate seeing all these AE teams playing in Florida already, and we are just now starting our series. UA needs to look into that next year.
  6. i was gonna try going with Brian...but i have a big midterm on monday, plus they could only get seats seperate locations around the arena. I be damn if im gonna watch a game in the middle of a Bingahmton section.
  7. the teams i would like to see come to the RACC which are semi-local to Albany: Hofstra St. John's Buffalo Niagra Monmouth (always there in the NEC - like to stick it to them in BBal and Fball) Holy Cross (always upthere in the Patriot League) Not a bad consideration: Manhattan UMass Seton Hall Rutgers UPenn Princeton
  8. oo no no no...im not saying UNC or Duke are coming. I cant pic them coming here BUT yes, teams like you mentioned are perfect targets to come here. Those are the types of games, that can slowly help to raise attendence figures in my view. Remember like i said, your not gonna draw attention by having Army, Lehigh, St Francis, LIU coming every year. Heck, we play Dartmouth, LETS SEE IF PRINCETON WILL COME to a game for our Ivy League Match-Up. People will come to games that have a team or a character that will surprise people. Think about the prospects of Bobby Knight coming to the RACC with his mid-RPI team or something? YOU CANT TELL ME THAT WONT DRAW A CROWED US ROWDIES WOULD HAVE A FIELD DAY!!!!! HAHAHAHA But i understand..Top 10 teams are not gonna come here to play. I be kidding myself if i thought that. Im thinking more along the lines of a Top 35-75 range coming here.
  9. glad to see this program is starting to kick it up a notch. i applaud them
  10. I was watching ESPN tonight, and they were talking about the new RPI system and determining who is getting in and out of the tournament. And they said that the new RPI system sets up a game in which if N. Carolina beats Stony Brook at N. Carolina, if they played the game at Stony Brook, then they recieve a better RPI standing. (something to that extent) IN the end, the guys on ESPN said that you may look at big name colleges trying to sched away games against mid-major conferences instead of having them always come to their home court. To me, this seems like a way to benefit UA in trying to get people out to the RACC and get bigger name opponents here. Opinions and thoughts?
  11. N. Carolina A&T series has become a 4 game series. A doubleheader will be played on Saturday. Also, the Coppin State series has been moved to a 3 game series, originally it was set as a two game match. It wont be the first time changes will be made. I feel new teams will be sched and more doubleheaders will be put together. But thats the update.
  12. they need to try and get a game against Hofstra...i would love to see that game.
  13. wow, Morin is unbelievable. 2-2 against west/midwest clubs ill take.
  14. your truely iswaitin in the wings...my senior year will be my first
  15. Baseball Teams series was postponed cause of snow. Time to play our annual guessing game of when the first game of the season and when the first home game of the season will be played? Ill bet my money that the Hofstra tournament has problems, and we dont play Holy Cross that first game either. But thi is what we have to deal with being in Albany.
  16. From UA Athletic site: AMANDA MORIN TOSSES ONE-HIT SHUTOUT IN GREAT DANES’ SEASON OPENER El Paso, Texas -- UAlbany pitcher Amanda Morin fired a one-hit shutout in her debut, the Great Danes blanked Northern Colorado, 8-0, in the first game of the UTEP Tournament at Helen of Troy Field on Friday, Feb. 25. On the season’s opening day, UAlbany was defeated by Texas-San Antonio, 13-0 in six innings, in the second game. Morin, a right-hander who transferred from Florida Atlantic, had her no-hit bid broken up in the seventh, when Northern Colorado's Stephani Miller singled to left field to lead off the frame. Morin struck out eight in the contest and retired the first eight Bears she faced. Miller took the loss for Northern Colorado, allowing eight runs, but only two of them earned in going the distance. The Great Danes broke a scoreless tie with a five-run third inning. With the Great Danes up 2-0, Katrina Dunning smacked a double down the left field line, plating two runs and giving UAlbany a 4-0 lead. Dunning finished 2-for-4 with two RBI in the contest, while shortstop Maegan Larsen went 3-5 with a run scored. UAlbany (1-1) would add three more runs in the top of the seventh on an RBI double by Erika Enocksen and a two-RBI double by Amber Maisonet. Texas-San Antonio (8-7) jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings in game two. Jessica Els hit a grand slam to give the Roadrunners a 4-0 lead after the first inning. Mel Torres highlighted a seven-run sixth inning with a three-run home run. Torres went 2-3 with two runs scored and three RBI, while Aimee Murray 2-4 with three runs scored and driving in two runs. Ursula Mares pitched a complete game for Texas-San Antonio, striking out 14 and allowing just three hits in picking up the victory for the Roadrunners. Casey Halloran received the loss, allowing six runs, but only one earned. She struck out three in five innings of work.
  17. think about this...0-7 IN GAMES DESCIDED BY 5 POINTS OR LESS IMAGINE WHAT THE RECORD COULD HAVE BEEN
  18. Just for the fun of it, Albany has won the America East SUNY Cup (i made it up) which puts the match-up between the 3 SUNY Schools. Albany 2-2 (takes first for overall record in AE and total wins) Stony Brook 2-2 Binghamton 1-3 Just for the fun of it. I seriously would like to see all 4 Major SUNY schools put something together (adding Buffalo) but that will probably never happen.
  19. 68-63 loss...that hurts. Now lets see what happens with Hartford and Binghamton
  20. lets remember, Vermont is playing all seniors. Thats the thing we still need in our game. We have te perimeter shooting, and Zo has been great to see inside, but our inside game still needs work.
  21. i know a few people who would go. It was something i was going to discuss with Brian once i got back into Albany. We will try our best.
  22. your right with that. I want to see us play Hofstra and Buffalo, but if they are scared that they can hurt a type of season that both are having this year, then they may not want to play us.
  23. to me, Albany needs to start talking with Buffalo and Hofstra when it comes to local out of Conference games. Maybe throw in UMass as well. You know they are gonna throw in a game against a Big East school. If they play in the Coaches vs Cancer and UCLA however, i dont think it will be a high rank team like Cuse. Maybe a Seton Hall, Rutgers or even St. John's would be good. But if you are looking at mid major conferences with local aspirations, Hofstra and Buffalo are it.
