  1. How to leave a conference in 30 days.... Step 1. Unequivocal denial two weeks prior to prospective conference annual meeting, while in the same breath say your open to all possibilities. http://www.app.com/article/20121203/NJSPORTS0220/312030104 Step 2. Prospective conference has annual meeting. [to come December 14th]
  2. If you look closely the crane is actually putting up more of the concrete skin. It looks like they have connected the elevator tower to the stadium on the first floor. I assume they'll need to to that the whole way down the line to sure up the whole structure. The skin must have structure purposes which is why they did it in concrete. Yes, the field is being graded down to the level needed for the underdrains of the turf field. The precast concrete panels are not structural elements to the tower. The panels act as a skin and are clipped in place to the steel. The panels are meant to create an architectural "base" to play off the form and material of the SEFCU exterior and insulating metal panels will enclose the rest of the tower structure. Got it. Makes sense and it will definitely compliment the SEFCU exterior nicely.
  3. Now Wagner is tied in. http://www.ctpost.com/sports/article/Source-Quinnipiac-Monmouth-could-join-MAAC-4087984.php#ixzz2E2XkqESA If this is true, it may mean the end of the NEC. In that case I'd expect CCSU and Bryant to get AEast invites and then I'd expect the AEast to start a football conference and force us back out of the CAA. Albany UNH Maine SBU CCSU Bryant URI- affiliate Monmouth-affiliate Wagner - affiliate Nothing woud surprise me.
  4. I understand Monmouth wanting out of the NEC but I don't understand the MAAC at all.

  6. Darn good question df... CAA schedules usually come out in the Spring? Let me say that again, CAA SCHEDULES usually come out in the Spring? That was a beautiful ring to it! CAA schedules have varied in recent years because there has always been some questions as to who was even going to be in the league from year to year. I think that is still the case with the potential implosion of the SoCon and defections to the CAA, but barring that, the CAA schedule should be done in the winter. I've seen them as early as February.
  7. To show that nobody's immune, 73-year-old Jerry Moore is not having his contract renewed after 24 years at Appalachian State (though it was decided last year).http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfoot2/news/news.aspx?id=4547674 Amazing. 3 National championships and 25,000k avg attendance and they still forced him into retirement. Getting more clear that they're on the brink of a Sun Belt invite and he didn't agree with a move to FBS.
  8. Stadium question of the night.....and the only thing that really matters to me....... Which stadium will Stony Brook lose to us in next year? We'll have to wait for the CAA schedule to come out to find out!
  9. I didn't want to offer my traditional doom and gloom, but the pace of construction has been irking me lately. Here it is, December 1st, and the steel framework to the tower is just starting, and they are working on Saturday to erect more of it. I guess that afters years of frustration that I should show more patience, but with rumors that the stadium will not be ready for the Spring game, I would personally like to see some more urgency. At this point most of the concrete has been poured, so let's get those frames and skins up and kick this thing into high gear! I don't think there's any chance for the Spring game anymore.
  10. Not unexpected. The real question mark for the CAA is still whether JMU leaves. I don't think Delaware is going anywhere anytime soon and no one else in the CAA has real FBS thoughts. If we keep JMU and gain Wofford, Elon and Furman the league would look like this: North: Albany Stony Brook Maine Rhode Island UNH Delaware Villanova South: William & Mary Towson Richmond James Madison Furman Wofford Elon That's an incredibly good league.
  11. The front beams are shorter because the front of the tower that rises above the stands is glass. The steel runs all the way up the back to the roof.
  12. I think its the front and back of the press box tower. Remember the elevator tower is going to be one level higher than the first phase of the press box. It allows added expansion on top of the press box with one more level.
  13. Now it looks like they're putting both sets up. The frame of the tower should be up pretty quickly. The elevator tower frame went up in a day or two.
  14. Woohoo! Steel going up for the press box/luxury suit tower I think or maybe even the second deck! I beleve we're looking at these going up, but I'm not 100% sure because it could be the steel in the back. Just doesn't look tall enough to be the steel in the back. The other interesting thing from this picture is that the roof actually overhangs some of the seats. Never noticed that before.
  15. No. He means the second level of the tower. The tower will only have one level above the 2nd deck seating. From the design it looks like they've left space available to up one more level in the press box for additional suites. The second deck seating is steel too, btw. Not concrete.
  16. The Second Level is going up at some point this month. It's included in the first phase. The second level of luxury boxes, etc. not the seats. Got it. That would be nice.
  17. I'm just guessing, but looking at the design, it appears the Press/Luxury Suit Tower will go up first as the upper deck seating is attached to it.
  18. The trickle down is getting closer and closer. FAU and Middle Tenn State are going from the Sun Belt to CUSA to replace Tulane and East Carolina which left CUSA to go to the Big East to replace Rutgers and the expected departure of Louisville to the ACC. That leaves two spots open in the Sun Belt for what is likely to be Appalachian State and Georgia Southern (with Liberty and Jacksonville State sitting and hoping). That may have a ripple down on the Socon if it loses App and GSU, which could lead to defections to the CAA of teams like Furman, Elon, Wofford, etc.
  19. Press facilities, luxury suites, concessions, restrooms, merchandise store. No offices. The lower level of the elevator tower will house be of the ticket windows. The other ticket booth is n the north side and you can actually see the foundation now.
  20. Things happen quickly. I hope he stays but good luck to him either way. The Big East is still the Big East. The CAA, however will not be far off from the quality of the new Big East (aka the old CUSA). Exposure is greater, but we will certainly have teams in the CAA that will beat Big East teams.
  21. The Second Level is going up at some point this month. It's included in the first phase.
