  1. uofalbany you have the answer fire CB, in the past dismal 3 years his team is something like 67-33. AS for being stuck in the AE forever that is not CBs doing. Our budget can hardly afford the AE - if we go to a higher profile league the operational costs will probably more than double. Our facilities or lack of a true facilites have fallen behind most of the AE now. If CB is the problem by all means fire him!
  2. Years ago we wished for 3 things win 20, beat Siena and get to the NCAAs. This season we achieved 2 and were disappointed, this is good, our main goal should be to make the NCAAs. Over the past six years four different teams have made it to the Big Dance - SBU, UVM, UUMBC and UA. Keep in mind that of those four teams UA has been there 3 time and had a disappointing loss in the finals last season, not really a bad run. Getting to the NCAAs isn't as easy as fans think. Just ask Warney or TBH, ask Piekell or Becker. Fact - since UA's first .500+ season (13 years) 6 different teams have made the NCAAs UVM 3, UMBC 2, SB 1, BING 1, BOSTON U 1 and lowly UA 5 It's time for us to get back to the NCAAs!!
  3. Hopefully he gets us back there next season it would be great for the school, the team and a local kid like Joe Cremo to get a taste of the NCAAs.
  4. Spoken like someone that doesn't understand CB and what drives him. I don't think incentives (money) drives him at all or he would have left. He continues to win games, qualify for post season play and make sure that he helps produce Student/athletes that represent UA well. I don't think he has ever had an "if you don't care I don't care attitude". This year he played WVU in an exhibition, scrimmaged Buffalo so he seeks competition and that's seemingly what drives him. When he got the job he made a commitment to consistently keep UA near the top of the AE, I think he thought he had depth and redshirted the 3 Aussies (1 medical) and I think they might have helped but he tried to do what was best for them and the program. He's 67-33 over the last 3 (non NCAA) seasons and some fans think he's complacent that's a compliment to the program he took over where they were 19-57 in CB's first 2 1/2 seasons ( 1st year 7-13 taking over for Beeten). Hey, disappointing season at 22-10 is a good sign! Let's see if CB can get some bigs to add to with what we have. It seems like a lot of depth on the perimeter.
  5. Interesting fact of a very disappointing season, UA played 7 teams who have/are playing in a post season tourney and have a record of 7 - 7 against them. UMBC, UVM, and Hartford Iona, Louisville, Canisius and Colgate
  6. Remember Devlin developed severe back issues while at UA. I heard CB make a statement that Lulka was skilled and compared him somewhat to brent Wilson but I'm not quite sure what that meant.
  7. He has the bloodlines which will speed up the process!!!! Doesn't need a "Godfather" to get him a job he has a true father to help him out!!!! He's done a great job at UMBC even though it has been a short time!!
  8. I ran into a couple of players at the Mall and they seemed upset by the decision and it sure doesn;t send a good message to possible recruits.
  9. I have heard that Brown has hosted coaches and others and even youth teams at practices.
  10. I think he'll be back I heard he's in a special program he can graduate in 3 and have his Masters in 4. But then he might be able to leave after 3 if he has his degree and play immediately as a Grad student but that seems unlikely. The school probably will give both degrees simultaneously when he completes the program.
  11. If people are worried about being profitable cut the damn security budget we had no problems with 1/4th the amount of security we have now!!!!! (LMAO)
  12. Lets not start hyping the entire class of new players, lets see what they bring to the table. Every recruit at every school has good qualities or they probably wouldn't be recruited. We need some bigs that can play right away. There's definitely a lot to be excited about but I think we have to temper or Vermont like enthusiasm.
  13. It amazes me everyone knows that David is the guy who when he plays well we play well but when it comes to All AE he gets screwed!!!!!! No one should have to plead Davids case his numbers speak for themself. He deserve to be on one of the three teams. I think it's other coaches holding back trying to protect their own players.
  14. You are rockin to your own drum!!!!!! David is a very valuable piece to the puzzle and is not replaced as easily as you think!!!!
  15. When a reporter sees Nicholls and Charles having a discussion in the hall while the team is practicing questions are asked. CB didn't make a big deal about it, he said Nicholls had been kicked out of practice and that he had done it to Jamar Wilson numerous times so it not a big deal. We on the board started speculating and making non evidential judgements. It shouldn't be a big deal unless Nichols got suspended from the team which I don't think happened.
  16. 4 SRs and Cremo started, I don't think this was any type of benching for David.
  17. More on de Sousa : NERR‏ @NERRHoops 6h6 hours agoMore Rankings are always subjective & to demonstrate that @MikeYagmiNERR has his own 2018 Big Board http://ow.ly/vHHc30iwUCR He rates de Sousa 12th and thinks he was way under recruited!!!! Click on the link
  18. I think the premise that we don't try to win the regular season is false. I believe the coaches and players try to win every game. Look at the run UVM is on in AE Conference play recently and they've been to the NCAAs once in the past 5 years. There are no guarantees.
  19. Cremo and Nichols have had control of their own destiny as far as UA making the NCAAs. It's usually up to your stars to deliver the team to the promise land and they just haven't got it done "YET". In games we've needed them - they haven't been there consistently in the last 5 minutes of big games. Hopefully they can change that this year or next year (hopefully both). We went to the NCAAs three consecutive years before they arrived.
  20. Interesting point UA'08 - should be interesting how that plays out. I try (and it's really tough at times) to see the cup as half full. We will have talent and I hope some how mental toughness can be achieved!!! (Don't ask me how) I still like our chances now but if I was a betting man I wouldn't wager (LMAO)!!!!
  21. Whatever CB does I hope he brings in two quality BIGS - probably 1 JC ( hopefully 3 years eligibility) and 1 5th year . With Healy, Rizzuto and de Sousa we should have depth on the perimeter with Healy and Rizzuto being excellent shooters and de Sousa giving us solid athleticism and scoring from the SF. Hopefully they can learn to defend. CB has compared Lulka to Brent Wilson (I'll take that) and supposedly Hanks is learning/improving this season. All 5 of them will have 4 years.
  22. M. de Sousa looks like the real deal currently ranked 17th in the 2018 New England rankings all those ranked above him I believe are going higher most to Big 5 Conferences.
